  • Complete instructions on how to change the Front Turn Signal Bulbs or Indicator Bulbs on a Generation 6, 2007 - 2011 Toyota Camry yourself. You can also change the Side Marker bulbs the same way, these are 194 bulbs. This vehicle is a little more complicated than most to change the turn signals bulbs on, but it is definitely something you can do yourself and save money! Doing this job yourself will save you at least $30, maybe up to $60.

    You sir are my hero. Took way less than 5 minutes to swap out my turn signal bulb on my 2007 Camry. I had to laugh as the car is nearly 16 years old and that is the first bulb I have had to replace (replacement of headlight does not count).

    I just wanted to say thank you. My front turn signal went out last night and I thought it would be an easy change, but I had no idea how to change it. Then I went to RUclips and found your video. Thanks to your video I changed them. I also watched your other video on how to change the rear turn signal bulbs and it was easy thanks to you. You the man. God bless you.

    Thanks for the video.
    The leading edge wheel well fastener is locked in when the slot is horizontal. Rotate it vertically to pull it out. You can tell by the shape of the holes in the clip the pin fits through (round with slots at 12 and 6). Because of this, if you do pry the center pin out when the slot is horizontal, it will probably break or be so distorted and chewed up , it won't stay in place on re-insertion. But they can be tricky to lock back in as they want to twist instead of cleanly rotating. Maybe a slight film of grease on the outer legs and the back hole in the clip would help them turn more easily
    .
    I would recommend changing the side marker light while you're in there, to avoid having to do the same job again. It's a separate socket with a small bayonet style bulb (T10, W5W, 194, 198), also amber colored. I also prefer to add dielectric (light bulb) grease to bulb contacts and wearing gloves to keep oils off the bulb glass.

    Really good video. Way to get shots in those hard to reach places while you are doing things. It is the bulb on the end of the housing, but I would point out that the this is the bulb with three wires on the back if you just in there feeling around in the dark(likely). The others have two. Also, as mentioned in the comments, the first clip that you pop is set up to pop out one way, with the slot aligned horizontal. Turn it to vertical once pushed in to lock.

    I am glad I watched your video before going to an Auto Store because there is no way I can do this. I slide into a car on ice going 15 mph, which would have only put a dent in the bumper of a metal car! ($3400 repair bill). I usually listen to the radio, yesterday I did not and heard the left signal problem. Now, I plan to phone my Insurance company back and report this because I believe the repair shop either caused or missed this. The headlamps worked when I checked the car out following the accident yet they changed one anyway. I bought the car now, and only have 64,000 miles (maybe) on this car. Your video saved me time and perhaps money in the long term. I subcribed to you just in case there is anything else I need to know. You are very easy to understand and follow.

    One tip to add. Housing is 2 pieces and has some play. So when you pull out the housing and it doesn’t naturally hang (wiring has tension), you are making the housing a little shorter and the bulb won’t pop right in. If the wiring is tight because you only undid one screw to access the bulb, you’ll have this issue. You have to make sure to push the round part of the housing down (squeeze) and pop the bulb in. This took me a lot of time to figure out since my bulb wouldn’t go all the way down and click in place.

      @@dwcoffey have you ever run across the bulb not fitting into the socket? When I pulled the old one out of the socket after rotating it slightly counterclockwise I notice the bulb was broke. I can only guess that part of the socket was melted due to heat from the bulb. Looks like I’ll need to get into the housing of the bulb.

    • @dwcoffey
      @dwcoffey  2 года назад

      I have had that happen, where the socket melts a bit and then won't accept the bulb.

    I spent all day today trying to remove the side marker bulb on my 2011 Camry and wasn’t able to. The blinker bulb comes off easy but I can’t remove that dang side marker bulb. Can you help or give me any useful tips?

    • @dwcoffey
      @dwcoffey  4 года назад +1

      Hi Marco, thanks for watching! It should come out the same as the the blinker bulb socket. I wish I had a trick for you sir, but I don't . It should come out by turning it counter-clockwise.

    Same process for the front side indicator lights? My turn signals are fine, but one of my side indicator light bulbs has burned out.

      @dwcoffey  4 года назад +1

      Yes sir! Although I did not point it out, you can actually see the side marker bulb socket just to the left of my turn signal socket in the video. Same process and the side marker socket comes in/out the same way. I believe it is a 194 bulb. Thanks for watching, Richard!

    thanks Dennis ,good video ,i was just wondering if it would be the same for the Toyota Aurion park light bulbs

    • @dwcoffey
      @dwcoffey  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Peter, thanks for watching! I'm not familiar with the Aurion as it is/was mostly sold in Australia and Asia. I'm in the US. But....it appears that it is a 'luxury' version of the Camry, so I'd think most bulbs etc are similar. I also understand that Toyota changed some of the Camry front and rear treatments to make the Aurion, so I can't tell if that affected bulbs etc. I'm sorry I can't be more help, but if I had to guess, I'd say the process and bulbs will be the same or at least very similar.

    • @dwcoffey
      @dwcoffey  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching, CJ! And I really appreciate the kind comment! If you were just changing the turn signal or the side marker bulbs, I don't think removing the bumper cover would give you any better access. Taking it off basically just gives you access to the screws holding the headlight assembly in. Since you'll have the headlight assemblies out anyway, that will definitely give you the best access! :)
