I remember I was messing around with some ice guysers somewhere and found a nice high pressure one, upon jumping into it I was shot about 2 and a halfish km into space and my ship for no apparent reason decided to take off and chase me, however, when I fell back down to the moon and somehow survived the fall my ship didn't come back.... Where it went was beyond me I'm just happy I knew some tricks to get my ship back XD

Shout out to Operation Ida who were on this the minute it was announced. Was amazing to see the speedy logistics flow of rapid-deployment to just obliterate these and it's been good to be a part of it so far. The Carriers are there because we're filling them at one system with around 20,000t, jumping them to Blauuw, and then offloading so nobody has to actually fly the 44,000ls in SuperCruise. EDIT: Also, Jingles. SRVs can survive ridiculous landings by landing on all 6 wheel struts. There are some of us who actually like to jump geysers and try to fire ourselves into orbit. There's no real rescue from that without a friend nearby to fly up, catch you, and shove you back down to the surface; but it's still a lot of fun.

Jingles, the type 9 actually carries more if you want to run with an FSD booster and shields as it can take class 5, not 6 shield unit. I have 744 capacity with shields, fsd booster and both flight assists (because lazy and it's a space cow). Jump range isn't great I admit, but it's a 2 jump fully loaded, 1 jump return from where I pick up from.
You're far too pessimistic about the community, Jingles. By the time this comment is posted, the shorter run is on Tier 4, and the longer run is on Tier 2. And I'll bet you a cargo hold of LTDs that once the shorter run is finished, they'll all swap to the longer run and finish that one too. There was a Community goal set at Hutton once. It got destroyed in a few days flat.
The short run (the minerals) is done now. At the time of this writing, we've completed 10,685,687 tonnes of the long run (machinery), or about 66% of the way between tier 3 and tier 4. So 1.33 tiers to go., and there's still 4D 18H left...

in the Tenche system there has been some cool cooperation the last days with carriers flying in with the cg stuff needed, where people both empty then to avoid the 10 min flight to the station, but also helping them fill back up...so for anyone that goes there, get in the system chat and ask around to see if thats going on while you are there..

Both CG's completed over the weekend at tier 5 :) , the 44k Ls trip didnt really matter as most folks used their Fleet Carriers and jumped directly to the station avoiding the long supercruise :)
We managed to finish off Nagasairu's delivery today, just a few hours ago. I was making 5 Mil profit every ~10 minutes of hauling in my Type 9 and finished top 10%. I would highly recommend ditching the extra 4 tonnes capacity you get with your size 1 optional compartments and just have an advanced docking computer and supercruise assist. The only time I was actively playing the game is whenever I would get interdicted by pirates, other than that I just locked the supercruise computer and did something else.
I just wanted to say I enjoyed the video. This my first Community goal since I started playing back May of this year. I started up my Xbox this morning here USA after got home work to see we got one of goals completed and I got reward 15 mil credits. So I'm to help out with other goal.
Tenche has been fairly quiet even though there s a good 5 minute flight from star to station for the drop off. Possibly because those that play the numbers game will be profit chasing at the other goal which is closer to the star and gives more profit per run.
If you go by Professor Brian Cox, it's "geezers" if you're from Manchester and "guyzers" for everybody else. Also, the SRV jump reminded me of the slow-motion terror that was that one _Cold Waters_ video where you had to back agonizingly slowly off the continental shelf or some such, I forget the details, and alas that video got reaped in the great licensed music debacle, I think.
Starship One was the ship of the FEDERATION president, not Imperial in the slightest. And it wasn't destroyed this week, but 5 years ago (It disintegrated in hyperspace). At the time, it was reported to have been an accident, claiming the lifes of hundreds of people, including then-president Jasmina Halsey. A while later, the Feds decided that actually, they might want to investigate this, and asked for various rescue materials (debris, occupied escape pods etc) to be delivered to them in a community goal. The immediate result was that they actually found Jasmina Halsey - alive, but she had experienced some sort of vision (or space madness) that fundamentally changed her. She was quickly declared too unstable to govern. The entire event lead to a massive gain in power for Shadow President Felicia Winters and now-President Zachary Hudson. What has happened now is that the investigations into the accident have concluded, with the result that it was not an accident at all. An engineer who ordered a modification to the hyperdrive has been arrested. To be honest, this sounds a bit fishy. That engineer may well have been a part of it, but I'm almost certain we're not seeing the whole picture yet - maybe we never will.
as soon as I saw the geyser I knew EXACTLY what was about to happen btw you could have broken your fall with the thrusters. in fact on low G worlds you can even fly around for a bit with the thrusters
Still can't get my Thrustmaster 16000M to sync with this game:( But on the bright side, I was given a 3 day rental on the Cossack by WG but didn't get the 6 point Captain and the only free Brit Capn. I had was "The Mighty Jingles" with 3 points. First trip and it was first on the leader board in a win even though I had a few brown pants moments everytime you informed me I sank an Allied ship that was on the other side. LOL So with that success I decided to give the UK Destroyers a go and am enjoying the heck out of them, they are much better than I thought they were. Do miss seeing Videos of you in action though. Your videos have cost me a ton of $$$. You got me into Tanks, Warships and into this game, but without the 16000m working I tried Eve and am loving it. So not a total loss. Already at the 10% delivering to Nagasaurus! 688 tons per trip on my cutter with a class 6 shield and guardian fsd, no so hard and the tiers are almost at max. Don't know what those global rewards mean tho...
I think the "global rewards" means the upgrading of the stations. Not 100% on that though. Nagasaurus (hehe) is done now. I did about 12.4k-tons with my 720-ton cutter-blob... if you remained in the top 10%, your reward at the end was 30MCr.
As of 6hrs of you posting this video, the nagasariu cg is finished! (5/5 Stages complete) tenche will get a lot more attention now that it's the only cg left
I did the other way... I brought an invention known as a chain, towed the beacon over to the far away hub to make it super efficient to rack up the rewards!
Public Service Announcement: I cannot stress this enough... do NOT accidentally run over a geyser in an SRV while using a VR headset. You will fling yourself out of your chair, onto the floor and likely never recover from the sudden-onset motion sickness.
And within 12 hours of this video going live the goal at Blaauw is almost to tier 4 despite the long distance you have to travel to it. My guess is once the other easy access one finished a lot of them came here.

I actually have Ian M Banks' Culture Series on my to read list (no books bought yet), found it browsing the Fiction and Sci Fi section of my local(well national chain) book store, looked interesting, then checked out the series on Goodreads. Though, i do suspect it will take a while , but i will eventually get there. Probably gonna get it in Kidle format. As far as i understand they are Stand Alone Novels set in the same universe?
5 jumps - ere luxury. I had just got back from Colonia, having hit Elite in trading meant I could go to Jameson Memorial and get a Type 9 at discount and fully set it up for the run. Came in at 8 jumps ... then I loaded up with materials ..... 15 jumps !!! and one threat of interdiction along the way - meep.
Someone realized that marketing is not just about hype, but these events and the Galnet returning is how you really build interest for the new expansion. A great time to return to the game.
I don't know how you calculated that part about community competition in the other goal there Jingles. I participated in that goal in the Nagasairu system, I made a total of 10 trips to Teng-Hui station using my Type 9 Heavy outfitted for cargo hauling, with a capacity of 720 tonnes. I'm like you, I don't go anywhere without a shield generator. ;) Anyway, those 10 trips got me into the top 25% of contributing Commanders, which at the end now was a total of 3,650 commanders, so I'm somewhere in the top 912.5 people that participated. The goal seems to have reached the end sometime during the night while I was asleep, but I've got a cool 24 million credits coming my way plus whatever the global rewards are. Also I had the same trouble you had with figuring out how to deliver the required items, I only got started in Elite Dangerous a few months ago.
It should be noted that 43000, 220000, even 4000000 light second distances don't mean much once you have a fleet carrier and can put 20000 tons of cargo right next to the station.

Both CG's completed over the weekend at tier 5 :) , the 44k Ls trip didnt really matter as most folks used their Fleet Carriers and jumped directly to the station avoiding the long supercruise :)
My day has been made to find out that Dave is holding up alright outside the map boarders of his usual Wargaming Titles.
We managed to finish off Nagasairu's delivery today, just a few hours ago. I was making 5 Mil profit every ~10 minutes of hauling in my Type 9 and finished top 10%. I would highly recommend ditching the extra 4 tonnes capacity you get with your size 1 optional compartments and just have an advanced docking computer and supercruise assist. The only time I was actively playing the game is whenever I would get interdicted by pirates, other than that I just locked the supercruise computer and did something else.

I just wanted to say I enjoyed the video. This my first Community goal since I started playing back May of this year. I started up my Xbox this morning here USA after got home work to see we got one of goals completed and I got reward 15 mil credits. So I'm to help out with other goal.
Tenche has been fairly quiet even though there s a good 5 minute flight from star to station for the drop off.
Possibly because those that play the numbers game will be profit chasing at the other goal which is closer to the star and gives more profit per run.

Starship One was the ship of the FEDERATION president, not Imperial in the slightest. And it wasn't destroyed this week, but 5 years ago (It disintegrated in hyperspace). At the time, it was reported to have been an accident, claiming the lifes of hundreds of people, including then-president Jasmina Halsey. A while later, the Feds decided that actually, they might want to investigate this, and asked for various rescue materials (debris, occupied escape pods etc) to be delivered to them in a community goal.
The immediate result was that they actually found Jasmina Halsey - alive, but she had experienced some sort of vision (or space madness) that fundamentally changed her. She was quickly declared too unstable to govern. The entire event lead to a massive gain in power for Shadow President Felicia Winters and now-President Zachary Hudson.
What has happened now is that the investigations into the accident have concluded, with the result that it was not an accident at all. An engineer who ordered a modification to the hyperdrive has been arrested.
To be honest, this sounds a bit fishy. That engineer may well have been a part of it, but I'm almost certain we're not seeing the whole picture yet - maybe we never will.
Also, SRVs have downward thrusters. Put 4 pips to engines and you can survive basically any drop on a low-G world.

btw you could have broken your fall with the thrusters. in fact on low G worlds you can even fly around for a bit with the thrusters
Still can't get my Thrustmaster 16000M to sync with this game:( But on the bright side, I was given a 3 day rental on the Cossack by WG but didn't get the 6 point Captain and the only free Brit Capn. I had was "The Mighty Jingles" with 3 points. First trip and it was first on the leader board in a win even though I had a few brown pants moments everytime you informed me I sank an Allied ship that was on the other side. LOL So with that success I decided to give the UK Destroyers a go and am enjoying the heck out of them, they are much better than I thought they were. Do miss seeing Videos of you in action though. Your videos have cost me a ton of $$$. You got me into Tanks, Warships and into this game, but without the 16000m working I tried Eve and am loving it. So not a total loss. Already at the 10% delivering to Nagasaurus! 688 tons per trip on my cutter with a class 6 shield and guardian fsd, no so hard and the tiers are almost at max. Don't know what those global rewards mean tho...
I think the "global rewards" means the upgrading of the stations. Not 100% on that though. Nagasaurus (hehe) is done now. I did about 12.4k-tons with my 720-ton cutter-blob... if you remained in the top 10%, your reward at the end was 30MCr.
Well as the first goal is pretty much almost done after 3 days I think the 2nd one will be finished too in due time as it is now 1/3 already done

And within 12 hours of this video going live the goal at Blaauw is almost to tier 4 despite the long distance you have to travel to it. My guess is once the other easy access one finished a lot of them came here.

I actually have Ian M Banks' Culture Series on my to read list (no books bought yet), found it browsing the Fiction and Sci Fi section of my local(well national chain) book store, looked interesting, then checked out the series on Goodreads. Though, i do suspect it will take a while , but i will eventually get there. Probably gonna get it in Kidle format. As far as i understand they are Stand Alone Novels set in the same universe?

5 jumps - ere luxury. I had just got back from Colonia, having hit Elite in trading meant I could go to Jameson Memorial and get a Type 9 at discount and fully set it up for the run. Came in at 8 jumps ... then I loaded up with materials ..... 15 jumps !!! and one threat of interdiction along the way - meep.

Someone realized that marketing is not just about hype, but these events and the Galnet returning is how you really build interest for the new expansion. A great time to return to the game.
Jingles, I just checked and it is 1937 UMT. One Community Goal is already completed the one at Blaauw Hub is Tier 3 so I think all will be done soon.

I don't know how you calculated that part about community competition in the other goal there Jingles. I participated in that goal in the Nagasairu system, I made a total of 10 trips to Teng-Hui station using my Type 9 Heavy outfitted for cargo hauling, with a capacity of 720 tonnes.
I'm like you, I don't go anywhere without a shield generator. ;)
Anyway, those 10 trips got me into the top 25% of contributing Commanders, which at the end now was a total of 3,650 commanders, so I'm somewhere in the top 912.5 people that participated. The goal seems to have reached the end sometime during the night while I was asleep, but I've got a cool 24 million credits coming my way plus whatever the global rewards are.
Also I had the same trouble you had with figuring out how to deliver the required items, I only got started in Elite Dangerous a few months ago.
It should be noted that 43000, 220000, even 4000000 light second distances don't mean much once you have a fleet carrier and can put 20000 tons of cargo right next to the station.

Several people managed to survive anyway somehow, but it’s loss happened in 3301 and those articles you scrolled past are just saying that the *inquiry* into the incident has concluded. Latest GalNet article I’m looking at as I type this is that Chief Technician Rory Webster was arrested for it and will stand trial before the Federal High Court for mass murder and attempted treason (he apparently ordered a bunch of unauthorised adjustments to Starship One’s FSD while it was in dry dock before its launch in May 3301).
