- Michael Evans and David Price opine about the slinky, innovative new Q Acoustics Q Active 200 wireless speaker system.
Curmudgeonly David, who normally has little time for this sort of thing, is beguiled by its use of high tech BMR drivers. Meanwhile, gismo and gadget fiend Mike is in love with pretty much everything about it!
Each episode features the guys' unedited, unexpurgated views about all manner of weird and/or wonderful hi-fi designs.
Mike has a huge wealth of knowledge from his hi-fi retail years, and David’s written about hi-fi for thirty years. Now Editor-in-Chief of StereoNET, he's picked up a few tips along the way.
So relax and enjoy some one-take hi-fi riffing - and please do leave your comments below. We’ll do our best to reply to them.

The eighties-tastic title tune is called ‘UFO/Mike’s Jumper’, and used with the express permission of our old pal and rights holder Simon Lythe. Видеоклипы
Great review , by the way I'm an expat living in Beijing and my main system is at home ,so the Q acoustic Q active 200 seems to be a great solution ,thank you
Absolutely! David and I were both extremely impressed, even though he hates to admit it!
It would be absolutely perfect for this application, Daniel. True 'budget esoterica', as hi-fi hacks often say!
I have been watching you guys for awhile and must say I like your take. The casualness belies the knowledge you guys have. I currently work in Sri Lanka and have KEF LS50’s but moving back to Australia I will be looking at getting that end game system and looking at ATC. But for the lounge and a good sound for music and movies this may be the go. I was comparing these to Klipsch Sevens or Nines. Your take is more positive than some so thanks and happy NY 🎉
I loved the STC scm40's... simply gorgeous! ❤️

Come on, we need a japanese retro session with DP's NS1000M, TTS8000 etc etc!! Bring back the glory days!!
Oh go on then. The NS-1000Ms have got to be done, I suppose...
Does that mean if we are doing your NS 1000's then we can do my 'Bariks?
Would these work in near field situations I wonder, like on a big desk, either side of a computer monitor?
Is the analog input digitised or is it a true analog input?
Looks like a superb product, guys. By the way, your intro/outro music is great but it has become an ear worm for me! So I praise and curse you in equal measure!
It's called 'Mike's Jumper', by Mike's good friend Simon Lythe. It's late 1980s vintage. Mike and I used to go to all Simon's gigs. Very nicely crafted, melodic rock. I have a live reel-to-reel tape recording of one of his open air gigs, made by me on a Sony TC-399, somewhere.
@@MrVinylista Nice. The TC-399 looks like a nice deck and your mention of it has led me nicely into a question I was going to ask of you! The question being: are you planning on doing more vintage-gear reviews/ revisits? There are so many marvellous old pieces of kit I'd love to see you guys look at...
@@TheNorliss Absolutely, we were discussing this precise point in our production meeting down the pub, recently!
We have loads of classics to cover - and it's fun because it's a great trip down memory lane. If you have any particular requests just let us know...
We'll have to do a link to the whole tune.... the guitar solo is superb!
@@MrVinylista I'll have a think and send some suggestions your way!
Tempting but way too non upgradeable - if that command box claps out you toss the speaker in the recycling bin 🤣
Better than Klipsch The Fives?
We tested them against the McLaren edition Klipsch and the difference was considerable.
These are almost as good as the B&W Formation duo at 2.5 times the price.
@@michaelevans7015 interesting, that's very high praise considering the Duo's high performance. Thx 👍🏽
