Leek and potato (colour is creamy yellow )is not known in Poland really. Poles add leek ( por in Polish) to every soup as a stock. Tasty but leek smell like onion. Very elegant in Poland soup was Cream of green pea soup with choux pastry ( its like éclair pastry without sugar) in the shape of little pea. Pea plant ...flowers , fruit smell is delicate, beautiful used in Polish poetry ,songs and cooking . Look in Polish supermarket , next to small pasta will find packet groszek ptysiowy. Ps.Any small dots on fabric is also called sweet pea - groszki.
Polish-American Christmas celebrations are absolutely legendary and breathtaking in their scope. Preparations begin WEEKS ahead for it. EVERYTHING is "readied" as the family heads off to Midnight Mass which even in the "modern" form can run for several hours. To all Poles, CHRISTMAS is the most celebrated and joyful of the seasonal holidays. EASTER is of course respected and revered and the Sunday there is also a joyous day but... Oh boy!... CHRISTMAS?... It's a WHOLE different thing.
So I think the 'soup of the day' was actually the 'pea and carrot' soup with croutons. He told me it was potato, but now I think not! The green colour of the soup should have been a clue!

Simple restaurant, nothing fancy but the good looks really good. Those boats are nicely lighted up too. Beautiful rendition by your daughter again....of course the desserts are to die for 😄

Back in Krakow in January all booked just depends on omicron now. Going kyiv Friday night (overnight bus from krakow. But will have 3 days ( wed/Thurs/Fri) there to enjoy the awesome winter krakow
@@planetkrakow she's booked , all depends on her now. She's already showing reluctance , but time will tell, she's been Helsinki , st Petersburg , tallin recently and we've just got back from Edinburgh ( massively recommended ) so hopefully she will come.
