Definitely an incredible rabbit hole to go though. A fascinating band with a very interesting story.

This one's off their first album, Surfer Rosa. Their first 2 albums at least would be worth doing in full.

The Pixies are 1 of 1.

You've got to do a full album reaction for their album Doolittle. One of the greatest albums of all time. This and 'Where Is My Mind' are off of their album Surfer Rosa which is also brilliant and has a few more of their greatest songs on it.

The godfathers of grunge, alternative and indie.
4 unassuming individuals who became the most influential band in the world in a time when everyone had spray on their hair.

Grunge, maybe but that is a BOLD claim to say they're the godfathers of 'alternative' and indie....good Lord.
That might be true in the US (I don't think it is) but it's certainly not true in the UK - which is probably why us Brits were onboard with the Pixies almost immediately.
      Same goes for Devo.

Yeah. 2 boston college guys who were into weird cinema and music got a girl from ohio to play bass who knew a drummer...
Crazy lyrics over a loud, quiet, loud punk sound.

I’ve read Kim Deal got in the band by responding to an ad they placed looking for a bass player who was a fan of Peter, Paul and Mary and Hüsker Dü.

PIXIES are fantastic. So many sounds and always original and quirky. One of the most influential bands of the 80s. Referred to as the Velvet Underground of their time. Hey, Debaser, Is She Weird, Cactus, UMAS...and so many more worth looking into. Charles aka Black Francis aka Frank Black writes about some really weird topics. His solo stuff is brilliant too.

Kim Deal has a band of her own called the Breeders which is also worth a listen. Looking forward to more Pixies reactions. Keep them coming!

    yeah, dude. kim is awesome.
they only lasted 7 years before they split and their 5 albums during that period were 10/10s in a lot of critics' eyes.
they came back in 2004 and are still going till today... the rest and the in between you shall discover yourself.

Iirc, both Nirvana and Radiohead have said something along the lines of "we were just trying to be/sound like the Pixies". And even all these years later, after influencing dozens of bands, they still have a sound all their own. An awesome rabbit hole to explore for any music lover.

Please react to more Pixies!! They influenced so many popular bands, like Nirvana and Radiohead. Even David Bowie loved them.
Try “Wave of Mutilation” “Gouge Away” “The Happening” “Hey” So many gems I could keep going

I love how when Bowie talks about The Pixies in interviews, he never refers to him as Black Francis or Frank Black; it’s always “Chahls.”
