The outro of No13 Baby is pure Pixie heaven. It’s a kind of love hate thing where all the way through the song you know the outro is coming, but when it begins you just wish it would go on & on for longer. It’s certainly not an intro song that grabs you at first listen, but it’s one of those that when you get it, you can just get lost in it.

Love Pixies, especially Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. This was one of John Peel's favourite Pixies songs and it is very atmospheric. I always preferred Pixies to Nirvana and found their songs more interesting compositionally and lyrically.

My brother gave me a copy of Doolittle for my birthday one year when I was a teenager and I fell in love with the entire album from song one. One of my favorite albums ever.
It is surely no coincidence that you put this up on the anniversary of Doolittle's release?

I can't understand why Black Francis uses that moniker, Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV would be one of the great rock names. Compare Hilton Valentine; with that name, what else could he have been but a Geordie guitarist?

I also like the majority of Francis other work, and Kim Deal's too. Her Sonic Youth collab Trouble Girl is eerie! My top Pixies include Ltr To Memphis, Allison, Velouria, Monkey Gone, Silver, Broken Face, Gouge Away, Wave Of Mutilation, Debaser, Alec Eiffel... Their covers of Neil Young and Yardbirds are excellent too

Great selection from the Pixies archive Jon. A true Bobby Dazzler! The Pixies never cease to amaze me. Their more recent stuff are as equally outstanding to their older well known hits. A bit more mellow as the band have matured. Paz being a great addition to the band. Fills Kim Deals boots very well indeed.
Ive always longed to see them live and got my chance last year when they played at Newcastle 02 where they played a mighty 42 song set! Absolutely outstansing. One ticked off my bucket list

13 also has significance in LA gangs that affiliate with the Mexican Mafia prison gang. For the same reason that M is the 13th letter of the alphabet.
That is more likely the significance of the graffiti Andy saw in LA.
