Is this major or minor pentatonic? The way I was told is that if you start on the first note of any given position it is minor and if you start on the second note of that position it is major, which would make this a lesson for minor pentatonic. Is this correct?

Can someone help me out please. Is there a more systematic approach to finding the positions of the pentatonic scale for each key. Say I'm playing in the key of D major and all I know is where to find the d on that top e string. I would then play position one with that root note. Now I wanna play position 3 in that same key but I didn't memorize all the 5 notes (D,E,F#,A,B,D). Can I still find position 3? Maybe there's a pattern like once you start with position 1 in some key, move x number of frets down to find position 3. I just don't wanna have to memorize those 5 notes for each key in order to find the positions. Thanks!

I just need to double check something. so in a nutshell, I can play that same shape starting on any note of a specific key and still be in key. as example key of D: D,E,F#,A,B. if I start that shape(pentatonic scale) I will be in the key of D? just want to make sure I understand it thanks

I have a question but first i just wanna say i love the way you explain the 5 positions and how to use them. I was very confused about this because in all the research ive done on this no one actually explains how the 5 positions are used. This video cleared up most of my confusion. The question I have is can this same concept be applied to the minor pentatonic scale and does the order of the positions change? I watched your other video on the difference between the major and minor pentatonic scale but i still dont completely understand. I heard somewhere that with the minor pentatonic scale you start at position 5 but it seems like everyone numbers tge positions differently and its very confusing
