I was one of the many people who played Automata first in the whole series after the game got intense praise, and I was also one of the many people that got completely enamored by the lore and longed to play the first game. I was ecstatic to hear the remake was coming out and have been absolutely loving it since it released a few weeks ago. Once I heared "Grandma" in the game, I had an instant urge to try and learn the arpeggio on guitar. Much to my dismay, it extended the range of a standard guitar. The way I got around this was to have another track play the lowest held out bass notes and use a really particular pinch harmonic to get the high F out which is typically one semitone above the range of a standard tuned guitar. I LOVE challenges like this so this was really fun to take on!
This cover was originally supposed to be an easier one for me since I have a lot going on in my life right now, yet I was still pretty strapped for time finishing it off. I hope you guys enjoy what I did with this song and are also enjoying Nier Replicant as much as I am! See you next week!
