- Martin O'Hagan had been at the height of his journalism career when he was brutally executed in the street by members of a loyalist paramilitary gang in September 2001. His last act of bravery was to sheild his wife from the bullets that took his life.
The Sunday World reporter's brave exposes, hard hitting articles and insightful investigations into the dark underbelly of Northern Ireland's paramafia gangs sadly sealed his death warrant.
But could his murder, carried out by the Loyalist Volunteer Force (LVF), been prevented? And what's stopping police from bringing charges against those involved?
In this epsiode, Martin's brother Fintan O'Hagan talks about the fight for justice for Martin whose killers have been allowed to roam free despite those willing to give evidence against them. And he talks openly about why he believes the courageous journalist has not only been let down by the authorities, but also by his own industry.
Just gets dirtier and murkier the more that comes to light ... Makes you wonder just how many were left in place.

This is absolutely horrific and deeply troubling when one considers the states principal function to protect life. This man’s life was what was needed to be saved. They are absolutely abusing the trust needed for the intelligence officer to morally justify working as an agent.
brilliant documentary .I knew Martin ,remember him from school ,know he was sympathetic to the stickies as was I .I ended up emigrating to New Zealand ,back in NI now .I Think the british have such a sense of entitlement ,that collusion is not seen as a moral problem. Wasn’t the rumour about Marty being a stickie intelligence officer one of the reason why he was murdered ?

He and I were great friends know each other for a long time he was a very dedicated person for irish unity which caused differentiate with loyalists and his accepaatility of So called friends were not able to help I loved the guy and yet his wife Marie will remember us ❤

All this is about money from top to bottom, the troubles, war..whatever the label it has. People on both sides was earning big dough.

I'm a convicted loyalist like my father b4 me and we can't carry nout. I believe it when you put the hand up your a target for life.
