There is an extended clip of this performance that shows the moment Dimash sees that his father (the man they kept showing in the shadows) is there. He literally does a double-take in the middle of his thank-yous, and this joyous smile spreads over his face. He almost sprints off the stage to embrace his dad. It’s truly heart-warming. And then later he asks his father, “Did I sing well?”!!!! 😳😳 Greetings from Florida.

Dear John, Opera is really nothing for him, only showcase his range. If you do prefer analysis his technique, 'SINFUL PASSION" is best choice. it is mind blowing with any technique you could think of, it is singing TEXTBOOK!!! You are absolutely one of the best vocal coach out there!!!!

Dimash is the best, but try something else and very good , original voices and different in 2 young female singers , Diana Ankudinova from Rusia and Angelina Jordan from Norwegen

How is this guy younger than me, but sounds like he has a lifetime of vocal training? Also, how have I never listened to him before? My goodness, I've been missing out! I should show my parents, they were born in Kazhakstan and can understand Russian, so they'd even know what he's singing.

- Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition.
- Sings in genres: pop, rock, classics, crossover (neo-classics), folklore, rap, jazz.

Either Sinful Passion or Love is Like a Dream. Both showcase his full range from low baritone to high soprano and both are pop style songs that utilize a variety of techniques.
Edit: another great song to analyze is Know. This song has an extended improvisation portion that changes from performance to performance. Check his official channel. The most recent ice skating version has a bit more improv than the New Wave/studio version and is my personal favorite.

Dimash is #1 in my life! His stage presence is fabulous, I think by the end of his career, he's going to be even bigger than Freddie, and Freddie IS Mr Showman! On top of that, Dimash is classically trained and his range...out of this world. Please, please watch some of his other newer performances. The story telling in some of these pieces are to die for. ♡
I truely believe what your said. He not only sings beautifully with incredible voice, he just has that charismatic that pull you to him, connect with him. I have never addict to any singer in my life until I heard SOS..it was. like "BANG"
There are some dears from his concert in NY said, he got the soft sexy voice like Michael Jackson, and also has that power of command the stage when he perform, just like Freddie, He got whole packages to be superstar/legend.

You think he's beautiful in a video, he's perfection in person! Mesmerizing and enchanted the whole concert hall for 3 hrs! Was cool to see your first-time reaction to his show piece! I found Dimash a few months ago when searching the Diva Song from The Fifth Element. He is quite surprising but I think he's very careful with his choices for range within each song.

Discovered Dimash 3 days ago with this performance. Have watched it many many times as well as binging on his other videos. Simply can't get enough of him. Julie Andrews has been my personal top rated singer for 60 years. Dimash just changed that.

Let's forget "male" and "female", they're very limited classifications anyway, we now have the voice of Dimash, the voice of a human above all, but which is in a class of itself, extremely rare as you say, and how blessed we are to be able to hear him. "Richness" is the term I take out of your analysis as a word I could use for my experience since I heard him for the first time, in September 2018. His singing makes you rich, not in terms of material goods but quality of life, brightness of the days, perception of the surroundings, understanding of what it means to be a human. Love and respect from Iceland!

I have been looking forward to seeing another video reacting to Dimash. You explain everything so well. The guy punching the air smiling at the end of the song was Fimash's Producer and singer Father. His Mum is an opera singer so you could say it is in the genes. Another singer with great vocal ability is Gao Tianhe from the RUclips channel Super Vocal which is about an Asian contest. Dimash can be seen on the sidelines in some of the videos I would like it if you looked at a video Gao Tianhe made of the song SHE IS MY SIN that he did on the show wearing a great coat. He sings in many octaves as Dimash can. Thanks again.

I was in his NY concert was Amazing.. I will not get tired of hearing this young man with that wonderful gift, I cannot believe that a single human being has so much in himself, passion, emotion, beautiful personality, a great heart, and a pure and unique technique. Love it!
Also, a great coincidence and pleasant surprise happened to me Dec 9, in New York, day before the concert. When I was about to enter the NY library I saw Dimash's parents who were also entering, Dimash's younger brother was our translator ... that was a nice meeting..I had some photos with them ....❤❤❤❤

Just a note about this video, a little incidental that says something about his character, which is also extraordinary.
This was from the vocal show in China. He comes from a culture that values family highly and keeps immediate and extended family close. His participation in this show had kept him away from family for some time at this point. At the end of the video, you see him go to the far side of the stage and throw himself into his dad's arms. If memory serves, his dad who had arrived without him knowing and watched from the audience. The camera does pause on his face in the audience earlier in the video. You can feel the depth of their connection and the raw real genuine self he has shared since the beginning.
His vocal talent and skill and artful presentation are unmatched but it is his character that will be his legacy. Humble, authentic, and full of gratitude.

Great description of Dimash chords capabilities and singing thechnique.
If you want to hear him singing low, in baritone mode, look for a video where hi is singing with Aida Garifullina ( a well known rusian soprano, the song Ulyses, it was live on November 3, 2019.
If you want to see him singing from baritone to soprano, look for a video where he is singing Olympico, a piece made specially for him by Igor Krutoy, the live ARNAU version is very nice, in June 2019.
At that VTB Arena Moscow performance, Dimash actually sings "Olimpico" directly before "Ulisse", so if we're really lucky you may consider reacting to both - a kind of 2-for-1 deal that I promise you'd not regret!❤
Hi John. I really enjoy your reactions and understanding the technical aspect of what singers are doing. Yes, we Dimash fans are passionate about him, because he is so good!! I hope you make more Dimash reactions. It's so hard to offer suggestions because every song of his offers something beautiful and unique, but agree with the suggestions for Sinful Passion and Ogni Pietra. Love is Like a Dream and Love of Tired Swans are also two of my favorites. Anyway, if you keep watching him, you will see more, and more, and more, etc.... sides to his voice. This song was written and performed by Russian singer Vitas in 2008 at his concerts in China. He had a resounding success there and this song is well known and loved by the Chinese. Dimash used Opera 2 as a kind of portfolio to show his range and capabilities. He sang it 3 tones higher. That's why the audience reacts like this.

I’m stunned by his voice. I’ve never heard of him before. What a gift. I wish I could sing, but there is no hope for me. But, I belt out songs on the radio in my car where no one can hear my horrendous voice.

It would be interesting to hear your evaluation and reaction to another artist I love. I think you would enjoy his style. Park Hyo Shin. He is known for his beautiful ballads but he also loves to act vocally in musical productions. I would suggest "Wildflower" the official video. It is done outside with minimal tech, primarily just him and his pianist (they are very close and are more of a duet rather than soloist and pianist). Very soulful, emotionally connected artist.

Watch Sinful Passion and The Show Must Go On! Opera 2 is great, but these show off much more of his range of technique. He’s about as well rounded a singer as you can get.

It’s better to turn on the translated English subtitles so you understand what he is singing about. He is describing how the wind howels when he is not home as if it was crying for his presents.
I am not seeing as many Dimash reviews as I expected on your site, considering your response to Sinful Passion. You have spoken about his different voices, colors and styles. Along that line I would suggest three very, very different performances that I have not found on your site. In fact, you might want to do all three songs in one video to compare and discuss the subject of mixing colors and styles even if you have a human vocal range: 1) A very powerful performance of Adagio in English (ruclips.net/video/m41Kafa14ro/видео.html); 2) A very soft and tender song in Chinese, Autumn Strong. I suggest the Gloria Wu version with initial back story you can watch before reviewing the song (ruclips.net/video/FXQ58U-Eddg/видео.html); and 3) Very operatic Ogni Pietra (Olimpico) written specifically for Dimash by Igor Krutoy (ruclips.net/video/dkPS6t84qg4/видео.html). To me those three songs display some Dimash styles that you have not reviewed. There are two others I would also suggest. Since you like Queen, you might want to review Dimash's version of The Show Must Go On (ruclips.net/video/ul3kpE1qcow/видео.html). And you might enjoy a very culturally interesting song, using ancient Kazakh instruments and musical style -- Samaltau -- which he sang remotely for the Tokoyo Jazz Festival (ruclips.net/video/UvMRkiYu3Js/видео.html). And if you have not listened to Dimash's studio version of Screamng, you have to listen to that. It's Dimash singing 2-4 parts within the one song; I'm not sure how many parts, but it's fabulous (ruclips.net/video/gFrQXcHSp2c/видео.html).

I got Dimashed when you did the first Dimash song and I've been listening to him daily. I'm just a country singer from Texas. He ain't no Merle Haggard but the boy is something. LOL Actually otherworldly. Mind blown.
