Bill manages to siderail guests stories to highlight his own superior musical knowledge. Would like to have heard John talk more about the producer in San Francisco but Bill said he doesn't care about that, his Playlist matters most.
Bill truly, does not know anything about music. ZERO. Being a fanboy with a tin ear does not qualify. If you do not have an ear- which he clearly does not and then do not develop that, you are just an imbecillic posturing fart. People with actual skills and gravitas, much like MD's who have put blood, sweat and tears honing their craft and gifts are listening to this lowlife explaing THEIR ART, THEIR CRAFT to them. No one wants to hear your juvenile deliquent playlist on your Shuffle.
"Honey Don't" One of my favorite Beatles songs, and certainly my favorite Ringo song. What I love most about this song is the boys playing behind Ringo. Paul, John, and George are laying down a perfect rockabilly groove in this song. It's 3 minutes of pure joy

I think y'all are missing the point of the show. It's not a formal interview. It's about two people sitting around talking about random stuff. With this format, you learn a lot about the guest rather than if it was a Barbara Walters special. The guests seem more relaxed and open. Yes, Bill can dominate the conversation at times, but I think that helps keeps things rolling and puts the guest at ease.
Well, maybe the best part of this entire nearly 2 hour podcast was the way Bill wrapped it up. Glad he told John how he felt about his music and the impact it had on his life.
U guys dont get it. Its not meant to be an interview format. Its two pple just chilling & chatting.& drinking...hence the slurring that happens too. U know how friends interject when a sentence is understood & pple are comfortable with each other...women tend to do this more & the convo overlap likr this & they are getting each others meaning, but men tend to do it less. This isnt about anyone's ego, plus they are drinking -be cool & get off Bill's nuts
A goodie! That was just fun. Maher could have given Fogerty a little more space, but it wasn't too bad. John seems to be grace incarnate. Admirable fella & fully agree with Bill re: 🎵Thanks🙏🏻

I can't fathom why they don't have the same passion and anger for what's going on in our own backyard and the fact that women are losing their freedom on a daily basis--now that's something to be PISSED about!!!!
Thank goodness Bill has producers and such on Real Time. Bill has to shut up so his guest can talk. He should show his Club Radom guest the same respect.

I couldn't watch more than a few minutes before Bill Maher's constant interruptions sent me off to a recommended video to the right. It's too bad, John Fogerty is a legend and we could have had 2 hours of his stories and perspectives on life, but instead we ended up getting a PI christmas special with Bill Maher trying to impress John Fogerty with his knowledge of music. I was half expecting Bill to get out a guitar and flub out some folk songs while Fogerty listened.
EVERYTIME Fogerty was getting to the point of a very short comment/story, BILL WOULD CUT HIM OFF. At one point, when Fogerty was talking about his early years in the industry, Bill shuts him up by saying “I don’t care about that. “ and rudely steers him to his later period. Bill is so intent on SHOWING OFF and patting himself on the back about his acumen, in this case musical, that he doesn’t listen to most of his guests. It’s as if a guest is just there to talk until they stoke an idea that Bill has a thought or opinion that he wants to showcase. I scream at the computer screen more watching Bill than any other interviewer/chat person. ALSO, his vulgar adolescent references to woman and sexuality are so tiresome. Maher’s stunted maturity was tolerable before he was a senior citizen. Now it’s just creepy and I’m old too. ALSO, Maher is smarter and less of an obnoxious jerk when he is not stoned.
Yeah, I yelled at my screen too when Bill said, "I don't care about that" monstrous arrogance! So rude! And like others said and implied, Fogerty is so gracious and polite, a class act.
Bill can't go through an interview without using the word "pussy" or "creaming in their panties." How crude. He is on the same level as Trump in this respect. I wish he would realize that! And you can see the majority of his guests (including Fogerty) are so turned off by it!
At 30:11 some of Fogerty's irritation first comes through when he says; "I'm just saying", in a cyncial way and after that; "It's your show", or, in other words; "do you need a guest at all, no matter how famous or interesting?" Maher exemplifies the kind of superficial music listener who only cares about the music he grew up with, while he rather ignores its origins. Something which Fogerty could perfectly teach him about (if he got the chance), based on his knowledge and love for it. This way he not only shows disrespect and indifference for America's incredibly rich music history (largely due to black artists) but also for his guest. Imagine how someone like Miles Davis would have reacted to such an approach.
So maddening.... It would be nice to hear John talk and finish a story. I am going to do a reaction video to this on my channel tomorrow. Please drop by and leave your thoughts.
But Ringo did sing Honey Don't on the Beatles' recording of it. He also sang Matchbox. George sang Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby. Those are the three Carl Perkins songs the Beatles put on record.
On the great 'Concert for George' video Ringo explains how George loved Carl Perkins. So I'm sure that he did sing 'Honey Don' t' at times as John said, although Ringo did sing it on the record. Know all Bill didn't even seem to know that it wasn't a Lennon McCartney song.
@@stevehoran5595 ya I wasn’t even familiar with the song but I was just referring to John actually playing with these legends and being a legend in his own right it was nice the subtle humbling to bills arrogance.

The comments are saying pretty much the same thing..let the guests finish talking. The first time I watched Club Random, I was intrigued by the format but it was obvious Bill wasn't a good listener/interviewer. This one was painful to watch, as Bill cut John off repeatedly, among other things. Bill has stated that he never watches his own shows, doesn't care what people think about him, but maybe his crew read these comments, and aren't afraid to let Bill know, his viewers feedback/comments. John was so gracious and patient with Bill's unprofessional and rude, buzzed behavior. Loved John, Bill, grow up!
Bill has been so rude and disruptive this whole episode.. but 1:28:39 takes the cake... that was one of the rudest things ive EVER heard an "interviewer" do...
I really don't understand the negative comments here. This is a great interview ... or more of a conversation, really. These 2 hours flew by. Yes, Maher occasionally cuts off Fogerty in his enthusiasm for the conversation he's having here, but the overall thing is very genuine and enlightening, with Fogerty fully engaged with him. More interviews like this, please, Club Random.
This is one of those interviews that's hard to sit through because Maher can't shut up. Sometimes he just can't keep his trap closed -- too bad as Fogerty is so interesting.

Bill manages to siderail guests stories to highlight his own superior musical knowledge. Would like to have heard John talk more about the producer in San Francisco but Bill said he doesn't care about that, his Playlist matters most.
Actually bill doesn't know that much. Bend Me Shake Me. It's a stupid song..He buys the album. Come on.
That one made me blow a gasket.
One of the greatest of all time. Thank you both!
Nobody cares what you think about music Bill , this guy lived it
Keep enlightening the rock and roll legend about rock and roll cause you know better
"Honey Don't" One of my favorite Beatles songs, and certainly my favorite Ringo song. What I love most about this song is the boys playing behind Ringo. Paul, John, and George are laying down a perfect rockabilly groove in this song. It's 3 minutes of pure joy
Wriitten by Carl Perkins
Totally agree, I love Honey Don’t and Credence’s version of Susie Q as well.
Thanks for all the music John!
70% of this is Bill talking at John.
Katie mentioned his great staff and how nice they were and Bill said they worked with him forever. Are they afraid to make suggestions? They have to see it too.
Conservative estimate!
Every guest, every week. Bill obviously does not care a huge number of his fans and watchers feel this way. At first I thought it was because he was really wasted, but it’s the same when he’s not.
@@tdakard9743 He doesn't care because he's been doing this for decades, he's 67 set in his ways and he knows it's the guests that bring people in. Every time we hope it's better if we like the person. There have been worse and some aren't bad. As long as we are curious enough to look, he's good.
Thank you John...
for your beautiful sanity!!!❤
Bill, I love you man. Mist of the time, youre the smartest man in the room. You put people off when you act like the smartest man in the room.
Good lord let the man finish a story!!! They never went back to the first question.
Well, maybe the best part of this entire nearly 2 hour podcast was the way Bill wrapped it up. Glad he told John how he felt about his music and the impact it had on his life.
Bill, please let your guests finish their sentences!
For the love of god let the guest talk
This is beyond than annoying
He's a bonehead, he never shuts up
Bill!! Let him speak!!!
Bill, please let your guest finish a sentence; finish a thought.
Amen. If only Bill's ego wasn't so fragile and he actually read these comments, it would do him some good.
I agree. Is it because he's stoned? Just breath & allow some space to listen to the guest.
That’s what I’m saying
@@laurelwild735He's doing better than I would. When I'm stoned I can't hold a convo.
any interviews out there where Fogerty talks?
A really good host lets his guest shine ... Bill?
A goodie! That was just fun. Maher could have given Fogerty a little more space, but it wasn't too bad. John seems to be grace incarnate. Admirable fella & fully agree with Bill re: 🎵Thanks🙏🏻
You don’t even have to string clips together to make “Bill Interrupts A Legend Every Five Seconds.”
...Bill "motor mouth" Maher!
I enjoyed this conversation as it reminds me of two friends enjoying each others company. It is not an interview, which, is refreshing. Thank You, Bill !
Bill says, “I could talk to you all night” his code for, I could listen to myself talk all night 😮🤦🏻♀️
Imagine how incredible these interviews would be if Maher asked just a few well-planned questions.
come on bill you have a legend sitting in your playroom how hard is for you to shut up and listen to his life experience " COME ON MAN "
Exactly! So effing frustrating! 🤬
its the Liberal in him
What a really nice man! I am and have always been a fan since Suzie Q. Nice to know there are still wonderful men out there! Glad I got to hear this man speak and voice his truth about music. I am a fan!
Great conversation. Oh Bill, "My Baby Left Me" and "Honey Don't" are delightful rockabilly tunes. Bill TELLING John about music and song. LOL. John had to leave thinking "This guy is rude."
Per usual, fantastic interview! Your Real Time episode this weekend (4.26) was especially great. The comments about protesting college students were SPOT ON!
Couldnt get enough of them then as now,,they were always on in the motorcycle club's juke box, hated it when they broke up,i still listen to all the songs, they are my trip back to the best days of my youth, motorcycles and CCR,a close second is Cream, thank you Bill!
I wish Bill would not interrupt his guests so much, l would like to hear what John has to say, isn’t that the point?
I was a security guard at Winstar casino..I often was in earshot of sound checks..it was always the older greats with record quality voices: fogerty, johnny rivers ,Smokey ,Patti Labelle, Tony Bennett and Frankie Valli!! Amazing Amazing
How do you turn Bill's microphone off?
Omg shut him up!
I agree with everything except the last part. Obnoxious all day long
Bill did manage to get his Trump rant in so he probably considers it to be a great interview.
Yeah, I yelled at my screen too when Bill said, "I don't care about that" monstrous arrogance! So rude! And like others said and implied, Fogerty is so gracious and polite, a class act.
Bills a f--king narcissist with a capital N ... he cant keep his moth shut you even listen to a reply ! sorry John had to endure this crap !
Holy crap... The legend himself... The legends you get.
John, Joy of My Life, hell, the whole Blue Moon Swamp album...top of my list!
So maddening.... It would be nice to hear John talk and finish a story. I am going to do a reaction video to this on my channel tomorrow. Please drop by and leave your thoughts.
John should have negotiated this debate better. The appointments mic should have been muted.
“It’s George he performed it while I was standing next to him” damn this dudes subtle kind mic drops are great!
@@murrayknight1672 🤣🤣 ya I hadn’t ever even heard the song and consider myself a huge Beatles fan 🤦♂️ lol I mainly just liked that John would subtly humble bill from time to time lol
@@billeinstein5569 I would have loved to see John interviewed by a less egotistical, intrusive interviewer.
I loved this episode, John is so kind and his stories were awesome
Hi Bill
Love all you do, but please , please let your guests finish when you ask a question
You get great guests, love to hear their complete thoughts.
Takes almost an hour and a half for Bill to let Fogerty tell a rock story uninterrupted.
Bill has been so rude and disruptive this whole episode.. but 1:28:39 takes the cake... that was one of the rudest things ive EVER heard an "interviewer" do...
Wow....unbelievable!
The first 5 minutes -- Bill interrupting already. I wanted to hear the end of John's story. Damn!
I'm like, is Bill going to be: But enough about you let's talk about me and my banal thoughts some more bs.
Story? How about a damn sentence?
Why does bill always say to guest after pontificating on and on, “ok, enough talk about me, what do you think of me?”
Another episode of Pompous Stoner Interviews Someone with Real Talent and Integrity. Keep 'em comin. Never disappoints.
It’s obvious Bill doesn’t read the comments or he’d STFU and let a guest finish a thought…or even a sentence!
He reads them, he's just self-centered.
Exactly…. Bill always ruins the interview.
One of them? Every one!
This show isn’t about the people he’s talking to, it’s just another way to feed his ego.
He’s a lonely man that brings in people he thinks will enjoy listening to him. Also, how many times does he have to bring up gayness? Barely 10 min and he’s yapping. Conflicted much? We need to stop listening.
Yup. Bill wasted the opportunity for us to hear from one of the greats.
I understand this is a casual podcast, but let your guests feel they are the expert...which in this case, he is.
Not three minutes in and Bill is monolguing. I want to hear CCR and Woodstock stories!
