I guess when "Million mile Joe" drove his mid 90s Accord over a million miles, the Honda management goes "Hmmm...that's far too reliable. We can't make money this way."
I don't think that's far fetched at all. They don't want to go the same way as the George Foreman grill company because they made such a good product that works for over 30 years that most people never buy a second one. They actually hurt themselves in the long run by making something so well so now designed obsolescence is a real manufactured shelf life for many items. Things aren't built to last anymore.
My 2017 CRV froze me commuting to work all last month here in Canada. No heat and also a full litre (quart) of gas in oil when I changed oil. Always loved CRVs but trading this lemon in.
You hate it? I love it ❤️❤️, got my 2018 honda cr v touring 2 months ago and there are no issues like what you’re saying, i love it, i feel so safe driving it, very classy 😊
I have been through Honda Canada, Transportation Canada and Authorized dealer of Honda. They all couldn't fix this. I have personally checked all the models in showroom. PS: The car is nice, but I am against the stupid issue with the seat belt in the back that I've explained.
I love my 2017 cr-v! but here's the major issue =). oil dilution and taking a long time to warm up. My engine oil is getting diluted by fuel that is not burnt in the combustion chamber therefore goes into your oil pan. If you want to make sure your car isn't having the issue, just check your engine oil with the dipstick and make sure its not higher than the 2nd notch/line. also take a quick smell. of course honda says its normal. So i did some research and here's what i found. national highway and transportation www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2017/HONDA/CR-V/SUV/FWD car complaints www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2017/HONDA/CR-V/SUV/FWD Hope your vehicle is a dime of the dozen, good luck.
Anabel Fullante I bought 2018 touring as well traded with 2019 rav4 the problem with the crv was the heater started blowing cold air/hot and cold air even it’s on the HI setting I loved the car good on fuel made me feel safe as well but then I heard tumors that the crv engine is mixing oil with gas I freaked out so disappointed with Honda it’s was my first car from them I always drive Toyota I will keep it that way. Man loved that crv shame on you Honda
Neighbor has the same issue. It looks awesome inside but they’re freaked out to drive it. What good is a vehicle if the engine is messed up and Honda not admitting to this. I feel bad for them but they are thinking of trading it in. Going for Toyota or Subaru. Thankfully they don’t have these issues. Too bad for Honda CR-V
Problem with start button not engaging first try. Problem with dealer being not interested either. A few display panel malfunctions and black outs. Once music system sound went dead.
I've had issues with my touchscreen blacking out, adjusting its own functions autonomously, and rebooting itself. Honda won't fix the issue. Only had the start button malfunction issue one time. Other than that, it's worked fine. Oh, and then there's the automatic door locks. They only work about 50% of the time. The sensing system will malfunction and completely disengage itself without notice during freeway travel, and for several months, the car was slamming on its own brakes because of some "invisible" obstacle it was sensing. That was real fun on the freeway. Fortunately, that issue got fixed, but it was the only one. These cars are riddled with issues.
The reason it can only start twice is because of emissions regulations. If you start for a 3rd time, that's practically idling for a prolonged period of time, which is illegal in many states.
My 2017 CR-V is plagued with electrical issues. The door locks, the touchscreen, the sensing system... And every time I take it into Honda, they say they can't replicate the issue, so they are not permitted to fix the problem. It's just bizarre. I will never buy another Honda.
True, but only 10+10 mins Max. You can only start once and add up 10 mins or start it again for 10 mins. That's it. You can not start more than 2 times or in total 20 mins only.
2 Times.... from experience.... it's because sometimes kids get ahold of your keys, and keep turning it on. It's also anti-theft. My wife's dodge has the same feature.
No idea if this will work for the seat belts, but... try unbuckling the middle seatbelts bottom anchor point by pushing in the white plastic on the buckle part, then just swap them.
ARE WE SERIOUS?! This is what people are concerned about now days? No offense to you sir. Good video. I’m sorry, kinda. If you have a family of 5, you need to get bigger than a compact SUV. I mean, I’m sure that the dad of a family of 11 folks, has bad reviews on the Ford E-350 Econoline 14 pax van. This country has it too good. People are worried where seatbelts don’t line up?
I'm really not sure what your complaint is about the key fob. It does what you want it to do just not as many times as you want? Why would you want to restart your vehicle 3 plus times within a few minutes anyway?
It has been tried. It just starts only 2 times. The key fob is nice. But, for the cold weather cities- it is not ideal. So, please bargain for a good one while purchasing any Honda Vehicle.
worst problem with this vehicle is the engine beware. oil dilution update will actually mess up the car than fix. dont update if you are not having problem or just dont take the car to the dealer go somewhere else to do your maintenance because the dealer will do the update. when you get the update the car will have check engine the later will stall.
@@alexpark0560 my Corolla starts from any corner of the mall though.! Simply because it has more range. And btw, that is not my main issue, but not being able to start the car for more than 2 times with remote. It made me feel more when it's freezing -30 here ;)
@@halcyonoutlander2105 They get loose and break regardless. We've repaired about 12 so far at our dealership. The previous models design was much stronger.
@美光伍 in response to "extremely cold weather" i live in california the lowest it will go is 41 degrees ( well so far ) and my crv is having issues of oil dilution and taking a long time to warm up. Oil level is higher than where is should i can smell fuel odor from my dipstick and oil cap. Not only this issue, but my car takes over 15 to 20 mins to even get 1 bar on the temp gauge.
@美光伍 anytime i drive the car i make sure its normal operating temp. Even just short distance. Cause according to honda, they dont recommend driving short distance......
@美光伍 I know.. they have been trying to fix the engine problems. But, they want to totally hide the seatbelt alignment problem that I've mentioned in my video. They are not even planning to correct it.
That's the point.. you can't have someone seating in the middle if the car seat is behind the driver. Coz it blocks the seatbelt buckle for the middle seatbelt.
I think it is a simple fix for seat belt. Remove the 17 mm bolt holding the latch and spin it 180 degrees and install. I am not a honda fan in any stretch of my imagination. Honda makes cars to deceive people. Have all the fancy tech items but poorly designed parts. Their V6 runs on 3 cylinders on highway and people buying honda's are VERY concerned about gas mileage and drives slow on highway to make sure it runs on 3 cylinders. This builds traffic!
But, they are not ready to fix it. I have 2 child car seats, I know how difficult it is. Mom has to seat in the back to take care of the kids and to get seat belt up is a daily struggle with this flaw. It is main thing for people like me.
Great. I have driven 56k. No issue in driving. But seatbelt alignment in the back is wrong and key fob is not perfect as I have mentioned into the video.
@@FrankieJen it's not about the range only. It just doesn't start the car for more than 2 times. Which is 20 mins altogether. When it is -30 outside; we would appreciate it if it can be started for longer than that.

I think the dislikes are because you're focusing on things that the average person really doesn't care about. Most people don't have car seats and most people don't live in cold places. So remote starting multiple times isn't an issue. Why not just start it once when you're almost ready to leave?
Ummmmm this is not what I was hoping to learn in this video. The remote start is fine there are laws for idling now; idling more than a certain amount of time can get you a fine at least in my state; you want to run the car for more than 40 minutes that’s absurd you don’t need that much time to hear up the car before you leave the house to go to work. I can’t live without my remote starter and I find this absurd. The seat belt ok I can see how it’s poorly designed but it’s not the end of the world you can make it work it’s not a reason to hate the car come on. Twice only at a time. For the third time you have to go in the car and start it manually.
