For those who lived through the era of Friends, you didn't realize at the time what an impact this show would have. There'll never be another one, not even close. And it's really saddened me that the cast and the crestors have had to "apologize" for the way certain things or people or the times were portrayed, mostly to those who love being faux-offended. But what's more sad is the loss of Matthew Perry. 54 is so young now, and he had so much more to give -- the guy helped a lot of people and was always willing to help, and found solace in helping other people.
It's not a case of people being "faux-offended". Friends was a fantastic show and it could never be recreated, but there's a great deal of things it got wrong, too. The fact that the cast and creators can look back and recognize their mistakes isn't a bad thing at all; it's called "growth" and it means they care and, you know, have empathy, a sense of responsibility and maturity. I'm glad you're in a position where you don't feel the harm stereotypes, tropes, regressive beliefs and misrepresentations in media can have on people, but that absolutely doesn't give you the right to dismiss them, either.
This is incredibly sad. I feel the loss so I can only imagine what his family and cast members feel. They brought joy to millions and I feel a piece is missing. Thank goodness we have reruns of this timeless show!
I feel sad and I only discovered Matthew and the Friends Show after his passing. Life can be tough and it is good to laugh. Death cannot take away fond memories of Matthew's ability to make us laugh. Praying he is at peace now.
RIP Matthew, Friends would never be the same without Chandler's wit and humor. Thanks for defining the timeless nostalgia of our lives Mr Perry, rest in peace and rest in power!!
The cast statement made me shed actual tears. I have never really been that sad when actors pass. Michael Jackson and Robin Williams are the only ones I’ve ever been really upset about. Now Matthew perry. Ugh. Very upsetting
I love show Friends and I wish they did a reboot of Friends. Matthew had alcoholic addiction and mental illness that horrible disease. Hopefully Matthew is finally at peace. ✌️
It is sad he died and he will be remembered well. But this is not a guy that rescues trafficked kids or something. He was wealthy and able to access any kind of help the world has to offer. Any rehab world wide was at his disposal. Any emotional issues, hehad access to the best. It is not understood yet how he died, but if alcohol or drugs are involvedI hope it is not kept quiet. I hope people know they can kill you. He has been so open about his struggle, so he would approve I think. It was a tv show for awhile. Chandler is a character not our cousin.
Why do you come on here just to be rude? It’s OK that you didn’t like friends no problem there but why do you come on here and have to say it when people are feeling a loss??
A lot of people have watched friends and enjoyed the show even years after. It is an iconic show. Regardless of how they lived outside of the show, it is a piece of many people's lives. Like Robin Williams, the golden girls, etc. A lot of people enjoyed those times even if it was just a show. It's culture. If it isn't for you then just keep sulking in your own hate. Empty your glass out somewhere else child.
@@dalesmith4985 The guy was in a tv show ok and? His wise so called Jokes weren't funny during the show and after the show I mean there is real stuff going on.
@@michaelryan9311 Oh wow you are comparing robin Williams who would be cancelled and spoke facts towards Perry types a sitcom character. There is no comparison.

That 70s show. Got yuh! After 2020, not that would be a challenge.

Rest in peace, Matty. We love you. ❤️❤️
They were so young and beautiful and now one of them is gone. Such sad news
And so it is..
I cry now, but as long as I can rewatch Friends, Matthew Perry will never be truly gone.
Rest easy ms chanandler muriel bong, you brought happiness to countless people. You were a gift to humanity

Love Matthew 😂 fantastic actor 😢 and person ❤
How did I just fucking hear about this wtf? Matthew aka Chandler? No way man.
died so young
Broke their silence? The man died a minute ago. 🙄

Oh shut up
Dude still has a big ton of money at least $20m in his bank when he passed...
💔🥲
That 5th Booster got him....
He was passionate about his vacs and boosters.
It's been said that in-between takes they used to cry out hail Satan
Unfathomable???? He wasn't even a fathom down
Who else at the time got physically ill trying to watch this piece of crap.
Why do you come on here just to be rude? It’s OK that you didn’t like friends no problem there but why do you come on here and have to say it when people are feeling a loss??
Go away
watched friends once, thought it was crap, never watched it again
He was on a stupid show, he didn't cure cancer or something like that.
Neither did your mum so does that mean you can't be sad when she dies?
Ok ok RIP far out...is this like a month of mourning kind of stuff?
It's only been a couple of day's
@@dalesmith4985 Its all over the "news" we get it. The guy belittled people who refused the experiment.
