I’ve been editing with Final Cut Pro for about a year now and I’m currently editing a multi-cam video. Your tutorial on how to edit multi-cam is the best one I’ve seen. Thank you 🙏🏼
New to FinalCutPro. Your breakdown is the best. I feel so comfortable at every step of the process. It is easy! But only if someone as pragmatic and communicative as you lays it out for us. Thank you, Jenn!
I have look at NUMEROUS tutorials on FCPX multicam editing and they all made it sound easy but this one is the one that taught me how to get the most out of it. Many, many thanks!
This is probably the best tutorial I have watched. It is so thorough and thoughtful it didn’t leave anything out. It felt like a formal professional training. Thank you so much! This has helped me learn a great skill.
I just would like to say I NEVER COMMENT ON VIDEOS. This deserves to be said! Incredible video with nothing left out. I love it ! Well done and thank you!!!
I looked through many other videos on FCP multicam techniques, and yours was definitely the most informative! Love the use of real-world examples and "what-if" scenarios! This saved me a lot of time, thank you!
I finally had a need for multi-cam editing and this was a terrific video. I love your style of just getting into the content without so much fluff that I see on other videos. I put this video into immediate use. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! I've watched half-a-dozen others on RUclips over the past two years and never could get it to work myself (duh!). But now, after watching your tutorial, success!!!
Thanks for taking the time to put that together I'm new to fcp and this is going to help heaps for filming music gigs I can run 4 cameras at once .great job Mrs jager
Your entire channel is a godsend! Literally needed to learn the multicam right now and there you are dropping a video on this exact subject. Thank you!
Thanks! Now that is another great reason for getting Final Cut Pro and a Mac for my new line of work. I have ordered them, but it hasn’t been cleared yet. I need to eventually go through a lot of your videos.
I agree with pretty much everyone else in the comments, you and your channel are God sent. My usage of FCPX is love/hate and sometimes think I should switch to Resolve or such. Then I see your channel and the advanced things you're doing. Just great that you share!
Always been a Ripple Training fan and then I saw one of their videos "Animated Backgrounds" featuring Jenn Jager - WOW! blown away. Thanks for your time and effort you put into these great videos.
Thank you, perfect instructions. AI-Chat showed me some ways, but AI did not find this one :) - I was about to invest in special software. Long story short: These instructions saved me time and money and are easy to follow as a tutorial. My compliments!
Awesome! Thank you for the finer details of the multicam feature of FCP. My first time using it was a big headache. I was doing the clip editing in the compound clip instead of the main timeline. And I did the color grading in the main timeline. I wanted to break my computer when I realized how much extra work I created….
Hey Jenn, it's a year later so you may not see this but thank you so much for this video! I've been doing it the hard way until now. Awesome video, thank you!
Fantastic. Thank you. I can't get my Multicam clips to collapse into a single timeline. Cameras were not started and stopped at the same time and I have quite a bit of B roll. Any idea how I can get this to a single timeline so I can switch angles like you're showing. Thank you Jenn.
GREAT video! Thank you so much! Quick question: when I create the multicam clip WITH A separate audio file as a camera angle, everything works great. But when I select the project, as if I am going to export it, and play it in the monitor, it does not recognize the separate audio file, but is playing on-board camera audio (which I do not want). How can I fix this? Thanks for any help!
I'm definitely saving this video in my secret folder, hahaha! Thanks so much for making this video, I think you just saved my video-editing life! This method literally saved me so much tears and heartache! I'm a fan! 💯💖
Just discovered your channel. GREAT! Question, If I use two cameras recording plus a separate microphone device, what audio settings does the recording device and cameras be set on to insure they are synced together once I bring them into FCP?
Awesome video. Would you use the same process for a split screen or picture in picture? I use 2 or 3 goPros. They are also quite large files, is that a problem? Thanx for the info. I am new to FCP, just downloaded the 90 trial version.
I love using multicam in FCP. Since I have just one camera (Sony a7S II), sometimes I duplicate a 4K clip and use it in a 2K Final video “simulating” 2 cameras… This way I have a “close up” camera angle too 😂. It’s really good to shot ad the same FPS too when using 2 different cameras.
Jen, I use filmic double take to take two different angle takes on my two iOS Pro 4k devices, therefore having four mobile camera angles, all with sound. It”s great to have multi angles and so, good quality from a mobile device, who would have thought. Great tutorial. Looking forward to the next one as learning FCP X with you has been great and keeps my old brain ticking.
Finally, a tutorial that gets to the point without 1000 useless features no-one cares about. Thank you!
Exactly 👍

Great tutorial!
Is it possible to create a side-by-side or picture-in-picture once you have already created the multicam clip?
reminds me about my grass valley vision mixer :)
Great tutorial! Thanks Jenn! Very clear and welcoming and helpful. :)

always looking to level up my editing. thank you so much for your tutorials.
this was extremely helpful thank u.... question? how about if one cam 4k and one hd? also how to I cut out audio from the b/c/d cam?
Well, that's better than what I've been doing, which is laying the clips one over the other, and syncing the audio by hand. Duh. ;-) Thanks!
Wow easy, straightforward, love this, you have a new subscriber! thanks!
Thanks Jenn, excellent tutorial with lots of detail of cam editing and color correction. It helped me make the switch to Final Cut Pro.

I was just on a webinar with Steve from Ripple and he demo-ed this exact thing. It’s a great idea.
@@JennJager Yes… at least it makes a 1 camera video less boring 😊.
This was INCREDIBLE. Please teach me how to do my taxes and everything else in life 😂
Lmaooo. Can’t help you there, guy.
Thanks so much Jenn, love it!
