      @@julienpregent4397 I think I hear overdrive saturation, reverb, chorus, and maybe compressor, possibly a sustain pedal but that could be his incredible gear, very interested to know for sure though. Usually the "wide" sounds are from stereo widening but it can also be used to describe the sound saturation/overdrive/distortion excites.

      From my experience it's just difficult to properly incorporate them consistently, so it's always nice when hand form allows such a happy accident to happen haha

      Well playing harmonics in a chord means that you have the sensitivity to play harmonics with every finger of your hand while the other fingers are playing standard notes in hard positions, at least in this case. So it's pretty hard😬

      Following this scheme (works anywhere on the fretboard in my experience) you don't need 24 (not even 22) frets.

      the strat due to the price) in the Neck + Middle pickup position, and add some chorus, a little bit
      of overdrive and also a little bit of flanger.

    Man, the fact that it tales nearly 15 minutes to teach how to play a 40-50 second excerpt, just indicates so well how much work really goes into creation. And people want to chalk it all up to talent.

    I was so naive thinking this riff seemed easier than some of Tim's riffs that I tried to learn before, oh boy was I wrong.. Switching between the chords at even half the speed is hardcore, I'm always amazed how you can just sit down for a few hours and write something like this, that's just incredible.

    i don't know who this dude here is, just found him in my recommended videos. by far the most unconventional way of playing i've heard so far. not quite the style i like listening to, but this seems quite technically challenging and i respect the technical skill as well as the creativity on display in this piece.

    For all the boys wondering about tone but not able to afford an axefxII like me, I found that a mix of flanger, reverb and a little gain does a good job at mimicking the one Tim uses. Sure it's not the real deal, but we aren't either so it'll do for me at least !

      @@Har.shal_09 might just be your neck, I’ve got the same issue with my strat and just chalked it up to high and uneven frets on the board, usually it’s really easy to hit a harmonic unless your neck is FUBAR

      if you're struggling, your guitar may need intonating so the harmonic falls correctly above the 5th fret, and not a little to either side, as on a poorly setup guitar

    Definitely one of my favorites of his! What I love about his music (besides his chops) is that he always starts with the musical side first (establishing a strong melody or theme) and builds everything around that so regardless of how technical it becomes it will still be memorable. As much as I love instrumental music of any kind, I will always appreciate an artist who can compose an instrumental piece and you can still "sing" it because the melody is literally in your face.

    i did not do well at reading notes back when learning guitar. My teacher dropped me from lessons and i felt like i failed in a way and this is how i learned back 40 years ago. i haven't played much as of late. this is the first vid i have seen a player of Tim's skillz that speaks in tablature. im glad to know i didn't fail as bad as i thought. thank you Mr. Henson. thank you.

    If anyone is trying to achieve a similar tone and has FL Studio:
    In your mixer apply the "Blood Overdrive", "Chorus" and "Reveerb 2" plugins (should come default with Fl Studio)
    Set your Blood Overdrive preset to "drive" and make sure your bridge pickup is in the middle position.
    There are probably tweaks to the chorus and the reveerb you can do to make it sound even more like Tim's Tone but this should get you close enough.

      got a friend into polyphia. he bought a guitar 2 months ago and is already playing a looot of their songs smh. wouldn't say it's too hard learning those but takes a lot of commitment :)

      practice every day, and practice small sections. You'll have this down in no time if you do it that way.

    his signature ibanez, is the best strat style guitar ive ever seen in my life, the inlays and the color of the neck and the black and gold body, two different things yet work together so fucking perfectly, never though about getting an ibanez guitar, usually i go for strats or any fenders, but this one might be the one im getting or replicating

    0:40 Tim plays a chord where all the notes are fretter normally except the topmost note, which is a harmonic. What an absolute fucking monster
