- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Thanks my friend. Here I goooooo! ✌🏻🤍
When I was small my stepdad took us on a trip to Colorado and we went up Pikes Peak, ever since then I fell in love with Colorado,i even seen the football stadium, but yeah the roads in Pikes Peak are like that, but Pikes Peak is way taller than this mountain,I think Pikes Peak is like 14,000 feet.
It was in Denver
We all owe you $20. Thanks for the tour. This was awesome.
its 60 to go up lmao
@@jakeszmyt3883 Right but it’s +$20 for an additional adult…
@@jakeszmyt3883sounds steep 😂
@@davidhibbs6989only if you have it walk it 😂❤
It's $300 to replace the brakes after you come down...
As a teenager our family summited Mt. Washington on all three modes of transport; auto road, hiking and cog railway. My Dad and I hiked the AT and stayed in the Presidential Range huts. Stared off in the Dolly Copp campground and spent a week on the summits. I am 63 and I’ll never forget that trip.
I’ve hiked up twice. I’m just behind you in age and I to will remember those experiences for the rest of my days.
It’s been decades since I went up the Mount Washington Auto Road. It is a terrifying and stunningly beautiful experience.
Thank you for allowing me to relive the beauty without the scary! 🤗
What an awesome way to end my day. I had to give up driving due to vision loss and I really miss traveling. Thank you for taking us along with you! ❤️
That’s my worst fear. Driving is the only thing I enjoy in my life. I’m 26 already have horrible night vision and serious deterioration in the past few years
@@dackbowland1876I'm sorry you're dealing with that. ❤️ Can anything be done? Mine is autoimmune and the only thing they could offer (aside from 'nothing can be done', ha) was drugs that shut off my immune system. I said no thank you. My immune system doesn't need help to be dysfunctional, lol.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I am glad you enjoy these videos, I do too. Take care of yourself.
Weird worst fear. Toughen up @@dackbowland1876
I really miss The Old Man Of The Mountain. However NH has a great show of the foliage change. Fall time is a great time to take a ride thru on a sunny day. Thank you for showing off our beautiful state.
I loved driving up the mountain with you…who said you can’t go on an adventure from your living room…thanks I enjoyed it!!
I love the sign at the start:
"Attention. The Mt. Washington Auto Road is a steep, narrow mountain road without guardrails. If you have a fear of heights, you may not appreciate this driving experience."
I really enjoyed this! My husband and I drove this road 2 times in the past. The road has definitely improved now. Back then, there were a few sections of dirt road that was crumbling away and super scary to pass a vehicle. With my husbands driving, I was terrified! lol! I have to say....just watching this video gave me anxiety again! I hate heights, but it was so worth it! It is beautiful!! Thanks for taking me back to Mt. Washington while in the safety of my home!! Also....I'm glad to see that they still at least give you a bumper sticker! They also used to give you a CD to play on the way up explaining the history of Mt. Washington.
Back in the 80's my husband was driving and I had such a grip on the door handle, my hand didn't want to release when we got to the top. So scary looking down the side of that mountain when making way for the downhill traffic.
@@judil3294oh I've been on some door handle roads in AZ, once it was because I was ready to jump out if the front tire hit the edge, not fun except with the rose colored memory glasses lol!
I was surprised to see paved road all the way up, too. He was so lucky to not have 50-80 mph winds!!
Thank you for reigniting some memories. I took my mom to the top back in the mid nineties. She left this world August 8th, 2023. R.I.P mom.
Ooo I transferred you tube to my I pad. It’s a whole new experience not squinting on the iPhone 😊
Thank you for this great ride. Drove the road in 1972 and 1996.
I will go up and down with you as I have lost my nerve to do it by myself again! I wish you safe travels.
If you do any more of these drives, it might be interesting to have Camera 2 as an inlay (like you do on your clearance videos) with it pointing out over the view in a side window or mounted on the roof.
Oh no ❤ I already find myself pulling back watching a video that shows over an edge 😂❤
Cool, my 9 year old daughter and I love your video's! We have been watching all the older vids of you camping in culverts. Tents, and even pallets! Now time to watch this video! Thank you Post 10!
There’s a scenic highway like this in Oregon that leads to a huge lava field. Going down is more terrifying than going up, especially when you suddenly meet a large RV coming around a blind corner.
Oregon is an amazing, earthly state! Blancolirio Channel just covered a plane festival there, showing the museum and parts of the airshows. 🥰
@@terracottaneemtree6697 I follow Blancolirio’s channel, and somehow missed all that! Just started watching his vid of the Hood River Museum….those are some amazing planes, and some classic old cars, too! 🥰
Mt Hood Oregon. Check out Timberline Lodge built during WPA. Ntnl Park.
Sitting in my Living Room, it’s a little scary.
Nope, no way for this Jersey Girl.
Hey post10. My husband and I watch you all the time. Sometimes we binge watch your videos. You’re an inspiration to others. Love from your friends Reed&Pam from West Virginia ❤
I'm a 3-time visitor to the summit of Mt. Washington, twice by auto and once by Cog Railway. The first auto trip was with my dad in the early 60's as a passenger in his 1960 VW Beatle. The aircooled engine meant never having to worry about overheating! The second auto trip in the early 70's was a bit more of an adventure. Driving my future wife, my brakes faded on the trip down. The only way I was able to stop was by rolling up a short incline at a turnout on the opposite side of the road. The two German hikers we had given a ride to probably wished they hiked down instead!
Absolutely breathtaking and scary at the same time! Thanks for the ride! Another great journey Post ❤
What a fantastic trip to share with the world! I am a very nervous driver and I don't think I'd enjoy that road even with someone else driving, but to see the whole trip as if I was there in the car was just wonderful.
We have done that trip before and it was pretty exciting going up the unpaved parts. Looking forward to watching this now!
My father led climbing tours up this mountain during his summer breaks in
College and we went up in a provided car with driver in 1953 when the road was gravel! I closed my eyes half the time….THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS…..IT BROUGHT BACK MANY MEMORIES,
I love your driving videos mainly because you are such a good driver and don't throw the car all over the road!😱 Thanks Post10 for taking us along with you!🙏💕
Thank you so much for this beautiful trip! I don't think I could do it personally, and no one I know would do it either, so I'm grateful to you for your adventurous spirit. Maybe I would be able to tolerate the train, but the car ride would be too much.
I am so looking forward to viewing this video.
I hope you had a great day today Post X.
Thank you!
the coldest wind chill ever recorded, minus 108 degrees Fahrenheit, was set at the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire,
Wow BeUtiful. So enjoyed our trip. Glad I wasn't driving. Lol. Never had an opportunity to do anything like this when young and now I'm 79 so it is so amazing to be able to travel with you. Thank you so much
brings back memories!!! Those bumper stickers were so popular back in the day!!
Very scary scary stuff for someone like me who is terrified of heights, but it was also very beautiful! Very cool video Post 10 , awesome idea!
Same with the heights
Yep. Legs are quivering just watching the road lol
Awesome video. We hiked MT.Washington on the jewel trail in early June . Took us 2 days to get to summit . Camped out on the tree line then continued to summit in the morning. We were forced to stay overnight at the summit with other climbers because of a freak storm. That was in the late1960’s. Thanks again
You were allowed to stay at the very top back then? I wish they still did that now there's just a halfway Hut
I’ve driven up Mt Washington auto road at least 6 times. So beautiful! Thank you for showing us.
Wow, Post. Thanks for taking us along, so many beautiful sights on this trip. Loved it.
Thank you for this wonderful tour. I have a terrible fear of heights and mountain roads and even watching your video had my stomach doing loop-de-loops. But at least I got to see the road to Mt. Washington and be at the top. I've had numerous relatives come visit and go on this trip but I simply can't do it. I physically would get sick. Thanks again for letting me see what it looks like.
Thanks for the great ,scenic tour!👏
I would love to go back to NH. There is such beautiful scenery going up the mountain. The last time I was there I was just a little girl and I can still remember the tight and narrow roads. Thank you so much for sharing this, brings back good memories!
Thank you so much for the tour and narration, this was so great to ride along with you!
Thank you Post 10,for another awesome video. What beautiful scenery.
I live in Maine and I've always wanted to do this but I'm not the biggest fan of jagged cliffs and heights so thank you.
I'm never going up there and I have no desire but I'm glad you took me with you.
Thank you for letting us be a passenger on this beautiful trip….loved it!
In the early 70s I hiked up there enjoyed the view and hikef back down, sometimes in the dark. Some of my favorite memories.
I love your videos. You are my favorite RUclipsr. I look forward to watching your videos on all of your channels. Keep up the great work post and keep that great content coming
I've been up there a handful of times and it doesn't get old, but I do! Travis Pastrana has done this as well, but in a whole different fashion... Go ahead and smash that like button for this guy posting this great opportunity for you all to see! 👊
Imagine being a passenger with Travis, I'd need a diaper.
I have lived in NH all my life and had never gone up. Thank you so much for this...AWESOME.
Another fun and interesting Post10 adventure! Thanks.✌️
About 25 years ago, I raced up this road on my bicycle. Only difference was that road surface was gravel in the mid section and all the paved sections were quite rough from snow cat travel in the winter.....much like you can see around 33 minutes in the video. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip up MT Washington I loved it❤
I rode up the auto road on my motorcycle with my wife back in the mid seventies. It was mostly gravel then and was a bit difficult to get traction in some spots. The sky was clear when we got to the top but a large cloud quickly enveloped the area. You could barely see more than a few feet. Had to wait awhile before it was clear enough to head back down.
I visited Mount Washington some 34 years ago as a graduation 🎓 present 🎁 when I graduated from college. This was my childhood dream to visit Mount Washington. Absolutely breathtaking. 👌
Thanks for the tour! This time of the year is beautiful. Probably getting even more beautiful with the autumn progressing. I would love to get the comments from your grandpa!
I could imagine my ears popping with the elevation. I'm living in a pancake country on the sea shore. I get ear popping with just 50 meters (164 feet) or less of elevation change.
I can't imagine using only first gear decending this road. My tiny 1,3 metric tonne car has a 77kW gasoline engine with 6 gears and driving on flat at 20 km/h (12.4 mph) makes me change to 2nd gear. In European driving schools they really emphasise driving with lowest rpm as the engine can manage
Dad and Mom took us up here as kids, 60-70's ,THANK YOU,for the ride up and down again.
Wow!!! What a trip! Thanks for taking us along.
I used to work for the Observatory 15 years ago. Good job on the video. You had a perfect day!
Up in my neck of the woods 👍
My wife and I rode the cog railway on our honeymoon 44 years ago. Back then it was only the steam locomotive. It was Labor Day week and the day we were there it was around 70 degrees. I grabbed two sweatshirts and two jackets from the car, my wife asked why and I told her just in case. When we got to the summit, it was 26 degrees, 50 mph winds and snowing heavily. There was no view whatsoever. We always intended to go back but it just never happened. Enjoyed this video immensely.
We experienced the same thing. 72 degrees at the base, in the 20s at the summit. My Dad bought us hot chocolate and it was so hot, it melted the cup.
Thank you for this video. Used to live in NH and love seeing this!
Thanks, that was very relaxing and enjoyable. I liked how you talked softly as you narrated this video.😊
Thank you so much for posting this video. It's been years since I've been there and I loved this whole thing.
That is really a place worth to go to and see, even by train. Thanks for taking us there.
Thank you, thank you so much for such a wonderful beautiful trip.....
I have been to Pikes Pike in Colorado Springs but this is much better....
My sister just did this about two months ago. The new paved roads are super nice, but the new super expensive entry cost is not.
At 42.42 that cloud shadow, looked like a bear. Very cool. Very nice ride-a-long. Thanks for the video.
New paved roads up New England's highest mountain don't show up for free, someone has to pay for them. Both the Auto Road and the Cog Railroad are for-profit private companies, they are not a municipal service paid for by New Hampshire. If you think the Auto Road is pricey, how about $100 per seat on the Cog Railway!?
Thanks for bringing us along on your trip, was very impressed by your excellent driving. Would love to see you Grandpa on a future video if he's comfortable on camera, he sounds very knowledgeable.
Thanks for sharing Post! That was probably a vacation trip I would never have thought of, that was great!
As always, I❤Post10!
Beautiful mountains and clouds! Thank you Post for the ride.
Thanks for showing the world how beautiful New England is.
I drove this first in 1976 with a 66 Fairlane with drum brakes.I learned about brake fading clearly that day.I had to stop and let them cool several times whilst descending.
It's awesome to see videos from local areas! I've only been up to Mt Washington once and it was by the cog train, but I plan on hiking up either this year or next. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for the memories, used to go all the time when I was young with family.
Yes! Another great video. Thanks for sharing your journey!
What an incredible road …. WOW !!! I had to keep telling myself ‘He made it, it’s okay, he down loaded the video’ ! Fantastic journey today Post10!!!
Thanks Post, my sister made it there. Got there by you. Beautiful, awesome scenery! No hanging on to the sidearms going down! 👍👍
Wow !!!!!! My husband walked up in the 1970’s. They ran out of water and were dejected sitting on some rocks and thought about walking back down when they heard a car door slam. THEY WERE SITTIN 10 FEET FROM THE PARKING LOT. They got a ride down from a friendly motorist. Quite the adventure.
Thanks for the ride-along, I thoroughly enjoyed it!.
I was on the cog railway at pikes peak Colorado. It was awesome. ROCK ON!
Hi Post 10!! Now I’m off to watch your video 😊!
Beautiful scenery thanks for sharing!
Wowser what beautiful scenery.
Hi Post. I’ve traveled with you to walk through tunnels, culverts and even some places that were pretty claustrophobic. We’ve been hip deep in mud and beavers to clean or try to make a dent in blockages. Heck, I’ve even spent the night in a culvert with deep snow on each end. So this should have been a cinch. But because I have true fear of heights, I was really kind of glad you had only the camera pointing forward, rather than down the slopes. However, the trip back down isn’t something that I can do with you Post, especially after your phone holder broke and I thought we were taking flight. Be safe and I’ll see you on the next water adventure. The mountains, while beautiful, just aren’t for this Acrophobic. Thanks for another great video. ✌🏻🤍
thank you for the tour.!!!!
that always gets me when i go to places like this, someone is always in a great, big hurry.....
Thankyou for taking us along. I never got to do that when we lived in Conway NH. 😊
Thank you for making this video of Driving Up Mt Washington, I've always wanted to do that but the anxiety is too much. Years ago my late husband and I drove down to the Hover Damn and I thought I was going to have a heart attack because of how close we were to the edge of the road, just like you driving up Mt Washington, even though I was sitting on my couch watching your video at time it made me very nervous. Being able to watch travel videos on RUclips is great and I will check out more of your videos.
Yes, this video was very interesting. Thank you!
That's a magical place. In the early 1990's I was a guest at the Weather Research Station, a few weeks of exploring and learning about the history and stories, took the last ride down before they closed the road for winter. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
We had a 64 Belair wagon went the mountain. was never the same afterward
Thanks for taking us on this trip with you.
Thanks for this!!!I always wanted to see MT Washington!!! I camped at the base that's the closest I ever got..what a scary road!!!!this made me nervous!!!! I loved it!
That was breathtaking beautiful and fearful all in one video!! Thank you that was fantastic!!
Oh my goodness! I thought I was gonna get mountain sick. I'm from the bottom of Ga. and I love the mountains. Enjoy them when I do get 2 go. I definitely enjoyed the ride. Can't wait til all the leaves change. Waiting on that video ! 😊 I pray 4 Ur safety and God bless U 4 blessing Us all. Take care 🙂
You were a great tour guide. Thank you.
Did the cog train few years back, super cool.
This was really great. I lived in Connecticut for a while but never took the opportunity to visit mt Washington. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed it!
Thank you for going and showing me! I could never!
Great Video! I used to work on the road maintenance crew up there back in 2003.. what a great office view I had lol
I have vacationed in the White Mountains several times but never went up Mt. Washington. Thanks for the ride!
This brings me home! Thank you!!
Thank you for the video, brought back some great memories.
Thank you enjoyed the ride with you ❤❤❤
Awesome video thank you for taking us along for the ride.
Thank you, I really enjoyed the trip, amazing😊❤
Thank You for this never before seen by me area of our country - beautiful yet scary . I have been up Pikes Peak in a car, but this was different.
Wow what a spectacular view, ty for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Back in the day , young men built sleds with a hand brake to ride the train track down. Many injuries. They also had a ski run down the mountain, which was stopped because of to many injuries. Because of the closeness of the jet stream , Mt Washington has some of the worst weather conditions in the Americas. Weather changes are rapid. Hiked it many times and did the road once on a borrowed motorcycle.
WOW! Absolutely gorgeous. If you ever want a travel buddy, this grandma is ready.
