Raw exhaust sounds towing the trailer through town rowing gears in the 6 speed common rail cummins.
64mm turbo and a single stack exhaust and an old school Jim Banks automind tow tune. Southbend twin disk and 3.73 gears.

I just went out and bought and 04 ram dually with a 6 speed about a week and a half ago. I do not think I will ever want another truck lol. It's got crazy good power, and sounds amazing. I hauled 7000 pounds of rock with it to a jobsite earlier this week and I hardly noticed it behind me except for braking. I won't lie your videos are a big part of why I bought the truck. Thanks for the influence!

@@dearderekking I love the i6 so much. They're a very simple motor and they make impressive torque.
Power delivery is much different than my 6.0 powerstroke
@dearderekking you have to love that 6.0 pull up high though. They pull hard like a gasser up in the rpms. But I love the cummins full torque off idle.

I love the sound of gen 2
Yeah the 2nd gens have more of a bark. I have 2 one is a 94 12v auto single longbox with a 5" straight pipe. Heavy pump modifications/injectors and hx40 and that thing is loud. Bit smokey when under heavy throttle until the turbo spools. And also have a 02 24v 6 speed HO club cab shortbox with 4" straight pipe. That is quieter then the 12v but more usable for towing with the manual. 3rd gens just have a different tone

I got an 03 6 speed and 50’s with a smarty and straight pipe, had it for 20 years. It sounds like a Log truck and everytime I drive it, it puts a smile on my face. People on the street break their neck looking at where or what the sound it, love that truck

Drive like me, it's awesome how ya shift all the time without using the clutch, that's how I always drive my truck too. Except at stop signs obviously. And on the mountain is the only time I like to use it

the sound of a 12 valve is much more desirable, 24 valve have a lot less psssssss sound in their powerplant.
Detroit 60's their14 liter makes that nice sound and, them N14 CELEC PLUS too, that nice PSSSSSSS sound when you downshift haha, our 1989 12 valve is around 500,000 miles sounds like a smaller N14's haha.

I'm going to be fixing up my Dodge 12 Valve, and my Brother in Law might go in on a Peterbilt 379 with me too, so I'll have 2 reasons to post.
The Dodge needs a new Transmission and Transfer case before I can use it for towing though...it really doesn't like the missing 5th gear and the hole in the side of the TC from the front drive axle coming loose a couple years ago. 😬

Common rails are definitely the least desirable sounding out of the 5.9

I can’t hear my radio Over my 5” straight pipe 6.7. 600wheel horse. I don’t even know why have one. Except the backup camera is nice. Especially by myself in the rain hooking up a trailer .

If that is a six speed you can take off from a dead stop in second so you dont have to shift right away. But what do you have done to it?

@Derek King it sounds pretty rad as it is if you're behind it 😂 I wanna put some bigger injectors in it and new valve springs but it's still got a VP44 on it so I'm not sure I wanna put any extra stress on that pump.

No it sounds like a common rail 5.9 with a stock exhaust manifold which is the worst sounding set cummin has! Put a 2nd gen mani on there then it'll sound like a dump truck.
