As someone who played Skyrim as a LVL 100 Sneak and LVL 100 archer, the game did become very unbalanced for me later on, but not in the way he said. I was dominating because I could one-shot almost everything and could easily hide from the ones I couldn't.
Must've been the wind... yet there is an arrow between eyes. Really no other way to play the game, although the Illusion spell Mayhem does make magic somewhat entertaining. Just cast it at the entrance of a dungeon and everyone kills each other.
I should say that, once you get your team back, it'll be better to keep changing around your team based on level instead of having a main team and a secondary. I won't spoil any reasons why, but it'll be a good idea to keep everybody at a decent level.

I tried playing a Wizard in Oblivion. Worst decision ever. I spent 90% of my playtime backpedaling away from enemies waiting for my Magika to regen.
Try a Sneaky Mage playstyle. The damage multiplier should help dish out the damage.
