Haha I hate to be a LeBron here but I haven’t bought for a second since I should favor the Celtics over the Nuggets to win a title this year. Sure nuggets can’t survive an injury to a top 3 guy, and Boston potentially could so I understand liking them more from a gambling perspective but how many times do we have to watch Murray and Jokic go apesht and Tatum and Brown slow down before we don’t assume regular season dominance or mediocrity, especially for the defending champs doesn’t say how well they are capable of playing when the games matter again. Jokic destroyed everyone without an all star teammate, first guy I’ve seen do this to this since my all time favorite playoff run Dirk in 2011 to deliver Miami fukboi karma for those cringe pep rallies and acting like they were already defending champs and they had only one great playoff run EVER. Took the craziest comeback in NBA history to not go 1-3 together.

Ppl keep bringing up “Celtics only made 29% from three and if they make a couple more threes they win.” You could say that about any loss. Nuggets only made 4 threes on 19% from three. If they made a few more they would have won by double digits. It is same exact argument.

The difference is Boston take a much higher volume of 3s, denver rely more on 2 point attempts. The main issue of this game is how much of a non factor Tatum was as the point of attack. If he plays up to his ability as a point forward i do not think Denver can beat boston. Tatum needs to be more decisive as the point of attack, his defense was very poor last night but i think that is more of an anomaly. Tatum refused to attack mismatches like murray which is what allowed denver to blitz him and keep him out of this game.

But Jokic these last 4 seasons since he became an mvp level player is very close.
Lebron and Jokic are a good margin ahead of everyone else for me in this 20 years and that’s saying something because there’s

Not a Celtics fan just love the NBA but I always asked everyone after the 2021 season that it's Jaylen Brown that's the best player on the C's and the Finals just cemented what I already knew. But then I watched Boston last season &it was obvious that Tatum was the best player on the team &the same is true for the 2024 season. So it looks like Tatum might have a "big-game" problem. This might be a Giannis-Middleton situation where everyone knows it's Giannis' squad but Middleton is the Bucks closer; the Celtics might need to do the same thing w/ Tatum & Brown. Cuz Jaylen Brown has absolutely been the better player for Boston in the Finals &a majority of their "big-games"

The Holiday 3-pointers are pretty out of the ordinary and Nikola Jokic ridiculous technical. on what was clearly a foul against him. The league has a huge problem when people are debating who the Nuggets second best player is? Is it Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr or Aaron Gordon? They are all clicking. Jokic can easily dole out an assist to any other Nuggets starter on the floor. When Jokic drives he can kick back to Porter Jr or KCP from three. Murray is lethal from mid range and can drive to the cup. And then Aaron Gordon is the cherry on top who cuts down from the backside and cleans the boards whenever Jokic misses a shot.😂😂

Jokic would have three rings without playing with an all star on his team. He is clearly the best player in the league on a nightly basis. 3 MVPS in four years, and I think 4 1st team all nba.

But we now also have the best home record in the NHL...Avs are 25-6-0,& the best home record in the NBAs west(& I think 2nd best overall behind the Celtics)-Nugs are also 25-6. I have watched every Celtics game this season and am a Celtics fan. This is a great team, but it's not a superteam. It's a well-constructed roster with at least 2 role players in their starting lineup, if not 3. Do the Nuggets have a superteam Big 4 with Jokic, Murray. Gordon, and Porter Jr? What about Clippers with Kawhi, PG, and Harden? What about Bucks with Lillard, Giannis, Middleton, and Lopez? Just because you have a good team doesn't mean it's a superteam. A superteam means dominance because of a confluence of top end stars, not a collection of two borderline all stars, a "superstar" who can't score in crunch time, and two defense-first guards. They have a good TEAM because the players have chemistry. Not because the players have intrinsic individual dominant talent, which is what makes up every superteam in the history of time.

Bill's dad has a totally clear vision of this team. It's that super critical quality fandom that doesn't pull the wool over your eyes with half full bullshit. Tatum is just not good enough, especially when it matters. Tatum cannot get his own shot unless he's got a ridiculous mismatch. He cannot score at will like the best offensive guys in the league: Curry, Brunson, Jokic, Shai, Ant, etc. He cannot get to the line when his shot isn't falling. The Celtics are a great team, but between Joe's know-it-all, outthinking common sense coaching and Tatum's worst superstar clutch stats in the league profile, i don't know how the Celtics could win 2 games against this Nuggets team, much less 4. Tatum has been the problem in basically every loss this year and is the only guy on the team who hasn't bought into playing the right way. Brown screws up and has bad games, but not because he's approaching the game the wrong way. Tatum is a hero ball sore thumb on a beautiful game roster.
