I'm so pleased to say that l grew up to be a part of the New Edition era. Was feeling a bit sad because l'm reaching 50. Thanks NE because You guys are still going strong and looking good and so am I.
Me too, girl. Count it all Joy, and know that we are fortunate. What a time we had! What a time that was! And, we are all still vital, and living life now. I feel kinda bad for those who did not grow up in the era we did. We are the 1st hip-hop generation, you know? So many legends we saw, from the ground floor. I would not trade it for anything...
The bond between Johnny & Ralph is insane. Their voices complement each other so much. I want to hear these two on a whole album together for real! NE brought a breeze of fresh air on this difficult times of this world. No day without playing a song of these guys, it's like Necessary for my soul. In fact, Good timing for the release of the film. They deserve all eyes and attention towards them. Waiting for an upcoming album, so much respect for these six talented people.
Damn! @ :36 when they all sort of spread out like an explosion, and @ :38 when Mike, Ronnie, and Rickey step back up... that is some of the best choreography I've seen in my 53 years.
I can watch this video over and over and see something different to appreciate EVERY TIME! Ralph with those spins and I mean he was GITTIN ‘cross that stage! Johnny’s pipes in the background and that shimmy. Rick, Ron, & Mike with the crazy crisp steps…The precision! Rick’s pop out with the spin & skip. And back to Ralph performing even through his eyes…Sheesh! Just gives me chills!🫨
Cristiano Phillip they were very famous in the 80's and 90's from guys singing to their girls"Is this the end" to them getting #1 on billboard for a while and they made a movie of their life to show their great success so they wouldn't make a movie for them if they weren't famous before the movie was to honor them and to show younger generation what NE brought to the world. You should learn more about them they are a great boy band. No shade.
@@trelsingz355 Also they really carried the bridge and the background better in the movie, especially JG's part, but this production was entertainment excellence.
I have watched this video at least 100 times or more throughout the years. Hands down, this is the most "DANGEROUS" in a very good way, and Smoothest Choreography on planet earth I have ever witnessed. The song itself compliments the gracefulness of the smooth moves and the serene feeling it gives you beat by beat and melody by melody. The steps are timed and executed to precision throughout the entire song. How these Brothers didn't win a Grammy Award for Best Song in a Duo or Group is beyond my imagination. My hats off to NE!
This was a great idea to have Johnny Gill to start the song and Ralph just blew it away. All of them just simply fantastic. New Edition know how to work the stage.
Bell Biv Devoe went #1; Ralph Tresvant went #1; Bobby Brown went #1; Johnny Gill went #1; this group broke into pieces, and all the pieces hit #1. Has there ever been another group that successful after breaking up?
1 only group the beetles also did it.. but N.E. was something serious they was in a different class.. I still bumb them till this day I'm a 70's baby..
Ralph's slide across the stage to harmonize with Johnny: 😍😍. I love the video version and the album one. Ralph, Johnny, and Ricky killed it!! I think Johnny Gill and Dennis Edwards are the best examples of the 6th man that took their respective groups to the next level.
Lynsee Lynsee ...Nah, Dennis Edwards was never better than David Ruffin. Oh, the Tempts did their thing after Ruffin, for sure. But the classic ALMIGHTY, IMPERIAL Temptations line-up was Kendricks, Ruffin, Otis Williams, Paul Williams, & Mel Franklin
Right. The Temps sound changed with the psych soul sound and Dennis' voice as lead, ushered it in. Two different singers for two different times. Both great.
David would have done every Dennis lead song better lmao. Cloud Nine has David's vocals still on it. They asked David to come back to the group he said no.
Love some Ralph but that Ricky Bell tho....transitioning from one group of steps with Ron and Mike to another with Ralph and Johnny plus killing his solo part......#respect
for real Brittany ??? New Edition & BBD are still popping !!! LOL. BET needs to do a tribute to New Edition & BBD,give them their due while they're ALIVE !!! Don't wait till brothers start passing away to do it.

Me 2 i'll be 53 this yr😊😊
Nothing to feel sad about! Just Making it to 50, is a blessing. I'll be 50 on June, 14th.
The cast of the New Edition miniseries did an outstanding job with this song!
Naturally Don't forget about my man Ricky the dude have vocals
This is one of Ralph’s favorite videos, he said so on blueprint
Great idea
Man...the pipes on JG @ 2.52...haunting. He added that 'grown ass man' sound that this supergroup needed.
Brooks did a good job with these brothers
"Mam, my name is BROOK"! 🤣🤣🤣
It's Brooke
After last night I can appreciate Ralph and just how the group persevered. I am so glad they are around to tell their own tale.
Damn! @ :36 when they all sort of spread out like an explosion, and @ :38 when Mike, Ronnie, and Rickey step back up... that is some of the best choreography I've seen in my 53 years.
Think the got it from the Whispers "Rock steady video" but did it better
That shit is amazing! They did it in like 3 steps! 3 perfect steps lol
💜💜💜
I can watch this video over and over and see something different to appreciate EVERY TIME! Ralph with those spins and I mean he was GITTIN ‘cross that stage! Johnny’s pipes in the background and that shimmy. Rick, Ron, & Mike with the crazy crisp steps…The precision! Rick’s pop out with the spin & skip. And back to Ralph performing even through his eyes…Sheesh! Just gives me chills!🫨
the movie did justice to these guys
Cristiano Phillip And it also got them a star on the walk of fame. God bless New Edition.
Cristiano Phillip I mean they still had fame wayyyyy before their biopic
They received the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame BEFORE the movie came out.
No shade.
Cristiano Phillip damn i need cable
I'd give anything to see an upcoming group pull some choreography like this at a live show. Definitely a lost art in the eye of the mainstream.
I swear

2022 NE concert
Won't happen. Too many egos.
Good luck with that. That's a bygone era. That will be sorely missed. NE is the G.O.A.T.
The 3 part harmony of Ralph, Ricky and Johnny singing “You’re not my” at the end gives me goosebumps. 4:09
Exactly... Jimmy & Terry thru down when they wrote this those three brothers toe it up!
My favorite part!!
This will never get old nobody does it better
They did a good job of recreating this in the movie
Oh yeah for sure
I'm trying tell u... RELEVANT LAB
To me the danced better in the movie I guess It’s the camera or something. But they still
Killed it
@@trelsingz355 Also they really carried the bridge and the background better in the movie, especially JG's part, but this production was entertainment excellence.

My hats off to NE!
well said
So are we not gonna acknowledge the fact that if it isn’t love ending is leading up to the intro of your not my kind of girl. Beautiful 🤩
Oh wow. That makes sense. Good 👉 I will back to listen to if is isn't love now that you've mentioned the connection.
This was a great idea to have Johnny Gill to start the song and Ralph just blew it away. All of them just simply fantastic. New Edition know how to work the stage.
They all blew it away, the group is not Ralph.
Ricky took FULL advantage of his parts! The best
iven G He slid all the way to the front when his part came!😂👏🏽
iven G 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He shol did lol
I love his part too....
Ricky was like my verses gon count dammit !!!!!

marieOH5 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

JOHNNY did also
Bell Biv Devoe went #1; Ralph Tresvant went #1; Bobby Brown went #1; Johnny Gill went #1; this group broke into pieces, and all the pieces hit #1. Has there ever been another group that successful after breaking up?
Nopep
1 only group the beetles also did it.. but N.E. was something serious they was in a different class.. I still bumb them till this day I'm a 70's baby..
@@ItsVolsnLions really only John & Paul had successful solo careers. Not so much Ringo & George at least I don’t think so.
@@Rmcm1984 they were especially Paul, but you said platinum and every Beetle had a platinum album just like the members of N.E.
@@ItsVolsnLions don’t think each member had a number 1 on there own
The best R&B GROUP OF THEIR TIME!! HANDS DOWN!!! THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
Easily the Greatest of all time!
1 of the BEST of ALL TIME.
AKA (CLASSIC*TIMELESS)
YES LAWD
Dont forget about earth wind and fire
Their time??? Of ALL TIME!!!
Ralph has ALWAYS been the one 😍
I was watching some interviews with the guys about their careers. They all said with the girls it was always Ralph. They all screamed for Ralph.
But the classic ALMIGHTY, IMPERIAL Temptations line-up was Kendricks, Ruffin, Otis Williams, Paul Williams, & Mel Franklin
but he still did take it to another level and they in a sense created psychedelic soul music
Right. The Temps sound changed with the psych soul sound and Dennis' voice as lead, ushered it in. Two different singers for two different times. Both great.
David would have done every Dennis lead song better lmao. Cloud Nine has David's vocals still on it. They asked David to come back to the group he said no.
Lynsee Lynsee Kings
I dare anyone to say they didn't knock this one out the park. Grand Slam
They knocked it out
Yes my fav 💖💪💯💯😎
Love some Ralph but that Ricky Bell tho....transitioning from one group of steps with Ron and Mike to another with Ralph and Johnny plus killing his solo part......#respect
That Boy Ricky is a beast... very very underestimated....
nephateria Hicks So I'm learning!👌👌👌👌
I know right..I think alot of ppl miss that fact..He had to the learn different aspects of the choreography.#beast
joe boyles 💪
I just recently saw them live and they are still that mesmerizing in person! Dancing like they’re still in their 20s!
for real Brittany ??? New Edition & BBD are still popping !!! LOL. BET needs to do a tribute to New Edition & BBD,give them their due while they're ALIVE !!! Don't wait till brothers start passing away to do it.
I need to see them live!!! London when?
