Summers coming, time to get ready for ways to hold your stuff with a light bag. These are great for when your traveling, exploring national parks or cities, and don't want to carry a heavy purse. What would also be great is a crossbody water bottle holder so you can walk around in heat, without having to hold it with your hands all day.

I really appreciate you making a cellphone bag with a snap instead of a zipper! I just got some snap pliers and snaps recently because I hate doing zippers. Most tutorials have some form of zipper, so this is a welcome reprieve!

I'm with you there. I have never done a zipper but I do need to learn, my daughter asked for one of these with a seperate zipper compartment for money. If you hear a lot of crying it's ME!!

Thank you for this sewing tutorial. I’ve never tried to make a bag like this before and I just fell in love with it. Because I made multiple of these bags, I did combine a few of the steps to make the bag faster for me. I topstitched the flap before putting it on, added the straps at the same time I put the flap on, and just measured the line 2 1/4” instead of ironing it for the seam line for the center pocket. The ironing pleats were just not working for me, it was too lumpy and I was not sewing the seam straight. My friends are going to love these!

You had me intrigued as to what was going to happen with the large pieces of fabric that were being folded....because I read it as a bag for you mobile phone, I didn't realise that it would have all those pockets!! I think my teenage granddaughter's would love this type of bag - but I would have to let them choose their own fabric, of course! ha..ha.. Thank you so much for this video. I was wondering if you know of a way to make a single pocket cell phone holder? As my mom is 84 years young this week . She has recently broke her hip and has lost the sight in her hood eye. She is now in a nursing home and keeps losing her cell phone. I was thinking of a bag with Velcro for quick break away as she wears it while she sleeps. Just wondering if you have a quick easy way to apply a single pocket with lining and of course fuseable inerface that could be done in one easy to understand tutorial? 3 pockets is just too much for her. I have always loved all your sewing tutorials… if you have anything quick and easy tips please let me know. Thanks again your the best

Anyone else having a challenge cutting out the fabric? Cheryl help! Can you video measuring and cutting out the fabric. Ive had great success with all your other projects. Im left handed and so its just not computing ha ha
Hi Judy. Tell me what size you are cutting the fabric, and where/when it does not match up. If your 1/4" seams are not exact, you might come up short or too long. Let me know. I want to help. Thanks for watching. 😍💗😍

*Am i to cut a single layer (not double) of each of the 14x15 pieces.
*What is the 5x5 piece of fabric for?
* What are the dimentions of the cut out flap before sewing it w the lining?

Hi Love the bag and tutorial. Can you please explain where the 2 5" strips go? Thank you in advance.
Hi Caroline. I didn't use 5" strips. Here are the sizes of fabric to cut out of each of the fabrics:
(1) 14" x 15"
(1) 5" x 5"
Straps: (1 or 2) 2" x 42"

I want to do that shamrock potholder in the background but didn't find the video in your links. Is it a basic potholder with the how to draw a shamrock video?
PS: It's nice to know that you don't do a perfect piece the first time but have many trials. It is very encouraging to me when the first doesn't work. Practice makes perfect.
