Hi Jean, I loved how you used the leftover zipper to make the tabs. Please can you tell me, is it possible to use leftover zipper to pipe the edge of a pocket (for example), instead of bias tape? I'd love for my piping to match the zipper on my bag and since I'll be cutting a good chunk of the zipper off once its attached to the bag, it would be great if I could use that instead of buying bias tape.
I don't know about using it as a true piping (which means inserting it into a seam), however you could use it as a decorative trim. Is that what you mean? If so yes!
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory so you know your purses that have a back pocket? If I outline the top edge of the pocket with the zipper by folding it over the pocket edge and stitching it down... So yes I guess you'd call that a decorative trim 🤔 so you think that's possible?
I love the bag! I made one for my granddaughter. I have a question? The inside of my bag sides were two different fabrics. I noticed the same on yours. Would I need to get 3 or 4 lining fabric for them to be the same on the inside?
Thanks for watching! I'm so pleased! You can make this bag with ALL the same fabrics, or you can change up the top, bottom, insides, pockets....whatever you wish! If you make it up ALL the same, just figure out the amount of pieces you need (I actually forget....:) But it would be 'easier' if all the pieces were the same.
Thanks Susan~! I've sold this blue one, but I have others that I made. When I was selling at craft fairs, I was asking $24. I sold quite a few however, I do have about 10 left in stock, but wouldn't really know how to go about selling them now...I'm a bit disgusted with Etsy and have pretty much stopped selling there. Craft shows have been a bust since COVID and I would have to tack on shipping to someone. What to do?!?! Perhaps I'll talk to my friend Jen and we can come up with a plan!! Thanks again for your interest.
@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory You are amazing to be able to figure them out. I know that seems complicated. We, my husband and I have been going to a chiropractor that has the vax D machines and works with me with my brain. I wasn't too happy. They did a eeg on my brain and he said the whole top was red and it should be white and yellow. He asked if I got knocked out at one time and I said yes, I fell off a horse and woke up in my flowers. He said for my age, I will be 77 25th of this month, he said my brains works 10.1/2 times slower than others for my age. More apt to get dementia. I said don't tell me that my mom had that . I think I have always been that way. Anything I do and ever did was harder for me and had to really study to learn. I made it through business school with a 4.0 part of it. Just have to work harder. I do keep busy reading and need to go back to my table runner I was making 2 yrs ago . The one on your video. Thanks for listening. I can gab like you. You encourage me and make me feel I can do it. Thanks Jean for all you do sweet lady, may God watch over you and your beautiful family. Hugs
I actually had to go back and watch this video myself as it is from a few years ago! LOL! But as you see, my actual video is showing Step By Step. A lot of people know this is how I 'teach' and pause the video when they are making the project themselves, and follow along. I don't have a clue how to 'write' instructions or directions or a pattern as I am almost completely a 'visual' person. But thanks anyway for trying to watch me and my video!!
Hi Jean, sorry to bother you yet again 🙊 my daughter is making a bag but there isn't enough fabric for the strap. What alternatives can you suggest? Can we use webbing or bias tape or anything else to make a plain coloured handle? If there's a particular method could you demo it? I'm really stuck ☹️
So I'm watching this again, and I dont understand why you need both D rings and lobster catches, since the latter have a D-shaped roundish bit at the bottom anyway which would do the same job as the D ring, no?
Most lobster catches come with D rings (that's how they are constructed) But if you want to clip OFF your entire lobster catch for another strap or attach it differently somehow, the D ring on the lobster catch would go with it, leaving no D ring at all for another fixing if wanted..
LOL! I really did laugh, because I made one for our oldest granddaughter, and her sisters were like "uh Nana...could you me US one?!?" Of course I will.........squeeze them into my 'tea half hour'!! :)

Wow love this 🤗🤗Teresa Stacey 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Love it
I love this bag! Do you sell them? How much would you ask for them?
Thanks Susan~! I've sold this blue one, but I have others that I made. When I was selling at craft fairs, I was asking $24. I sold quite a few however, I do have about 10 left in stock, but wouldn't really know how to go about selling them now...I'm a bit disgusted with Etsy and have pretty much stopped selling there. Craft shows have been a bust since COVID and I would have to tack on shipping to someone. What to do?!?! Perhaps I'll talk to my friend Jen and we can come up with a plan!! Thanks again for your interest.
I wish you would sell pre-cut kits
Where do get these patterns or do you make up your own? You do amazing work, Jean. Hugs for you.
Thanks Donna....I look on Pinterest for ideas for crafty little things and then see if I can just figure out how to make them!
Hugs
Aw Donna, you HAVE had a time of things, haven't you!? But its good you keep positive and remember, just one day at a time! Sending Hugs:)
Everything for an artificial pancreas!
That’s what I was thinking it would be good for Catherine G.
Would you mind telling us where the craft fair is?? Also, are you moving out of PA
It is on November 16th at the Willow Dale Elementary School in Warminster PA.. I'm only moving about 13 minutes from our current home!
👏🥰
PLEASE!!!! Puedes subtitular en español????? Gracias 😍
“Step by step” would be GREAT…. I get soooo confused🙁. I’m a beginner and having written direction, nothing fancy, would help tremendously.
Please show us back pocket version
Jean what size needle are using to sew this wonderful bag.
I put in a 90/14 Jeans' needle
So I'm watching this again, and I dont understand why you need both D rings and lobster catches, since the latter have a D-shaped roundish bit at the bottom anyway which would do the same job as the D ring, no?
Most lobster catches come with D rings (that's how they are constructed) But if you want to clip OFF your entire lobster catch for another strap or attach it differently somehow, the D ring on the lobster catch would go with it, leaving no D ring at all for another fixing if wanted..
I guess there will be several in the works. Once i make one for the granddaughter the rest will say "where's mine"
LOL! I really did laugh, because I made one for our oldest granddaughter, and her sisters were like "uh Nana...could you me US one?!?" Of course I will.........squeeze them into my 'tea half hour'!! :)
WONDERFUL video, but your talking so fast I could not get the size of zipper (hard of hearing here) please what size did you use? Thank you.
I used 14" zippers that I cut short, but you could use 12" (and also cut them down:)
how many yards of each fabric do I need?
You certainly don't need 'yardage' for this little bag....I have given exact measurements of each piece in my video, so smaller bits can be used.
I like you bag except for zipper tabs
Yes, I have to perfect them....:)
