Today marks 10 years ago, when my grandpa passed away, the last time I saw him was on April 6, 2014, my grandpa served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961 he was stationed in Germany.
Your series "In Memoriam XXXX" is absolutely fantastic...I could watch those videos all day! Some might think that's macabre, but it I really love how much I learn (and remember) from each of them. Thank you for your efforts in putting all of these videos together.
Glen Larson gave us some of the best TV shows of the 1970s and 1980s including "Quincy", "Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo", "Knight Rider", and "Magnum P. I." to name only a few. RIP Larson
Shirley Temple was my favorite show to watch when I was a little girl. I love the music you chose for this. Sorry about the loss of your 2 uncle's. Keep up the great work with your videos. Thank you 🙏
My first thought when I am reminded of the early death of a great actor like Philip Seymour Hoffman is always about the roles they didn't play and we didn't see. Such a talented and mesmerising performer. Such a sad and too early loss. He had so much more to do and show.
I loved watching Russell Johnson play the Professor in "Gilligan's Island." He was very handsome and he was a fantastic actor!! He was born in November 1924.
He stars in one of the best episodes of the original Twilight Zone series with Rod Serling. He goes back in time to prevent President Abraham Lincoln from getting assassinated. Awesome.
You are so right my friend. It goes terrifyingly fast. I'm 73 , survived Vietnam , 10 years on the road as a professional drummer . It all seems like Last week.the 90s were yesterday, now in the autumn of my life trying to keep death at arms length while fighting cancer, people who have left us in their 50s and 60s were cheated out of so much. Thank God for each day, it can end so suddenly.
A lot of big names lost in 2014 Shirley Temple , Lauren Bacall, Mickey Rooney. & James Garner all people I admired in Film and Television . Thanks for including former Miss America winners Bess Myerson & Mary Ann Mobley as well . This is such a a lovely channel that does these tributes to the beloved we lose each year. I often find surprise s that I didn’t know pass on . Thanks 🕊️🫶🏻👍🏻❤️
It was a rough year for fans of Batman: The Animated Series, loosing both Alfred (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and Commissioner Gordon (Bob Hastings). They were both perfect in their roles.
R.I.P. Dave Madden who played Reuben Kincaid also guest starred on Happy Days and R.I.P. to Russell Johnson as the professor also guest starred on The Big Valley as Davey Dunnigan.
I recall seeing Russell Johnson in the lead role of an unsold pilot episode of a romantic comedy TV series, though I can't remember the title and I don't see it in his filmography.
Thanx for keeping all of this so respectful and including many of the people, like Johnny Winter, that are often over looked. Your touching friends and relatives memorials are really something. You must be a very nice guy. Thanx!
This video is very thorough. One person who could have been included was NHL Hall-Of-Famer Jean Beliveau, who died on December 2, 2014. Le Gros Bill as Jean was affectionately known, played for the Montreal Canadiens from roughly 1953-1971 and helped Les Canadiens to win ten Stanley Cups. As well, the popular Beliveau was Montreal's captain for eleven years and he was the first winner of the Conn Smythe trophy for his leadership and productive play during the Stanley Cup playoffs in 1965.
Bob Hastings was on "As The World Turns." Played "Kelcy" as in the Owner of "Archie Bunker's" favorite Bar on "All In The Family." And dated in TV back to "McHale's Navy" IIRC.🤔🎤🍻📺B.W.
4:50 man, it has been that long since he passed away. 6:54 there was an urban legend when I was a kid that he died because he lifted yokuzuna and one of his muscles exploded because of the tassels. The things we imagined as kids! Seriously, it hurts when the people who you watched in TV as a kid die, as if the past is slowly vanishing away.
It's in the records of his death by the medical examiner in Alexandria, Virginia, where he passed away from the injury sustained by the Reagan attempted assassination.
So many talented people we lost that year. We'll never see them again. I look at Turner Movies every now and again to watch the classics. I see/learn about them so much its incredible. Great classics. So much to be learned.
I'll never fiorget when Robin Williams passed away, it was the first thing I saw when I opened Facebook that day. What an incredible human being, oh captain my captain we miss you,
Sadly we all must at one point meet the end, and when I hear of a celeb passing away it is always sad, but the passing of Robin Williams really hit me, one of my favorites.
3:17 Shirley Temple is THE greatest child star to have ever lived, hands down. For me, George "Spanky" McFarland comes in at second place. This year was sad for the passings, but 2016 is the one I cannot believe. Still to this day in 2024, it's the worst celebrity year for deaths I have known in my lifetime to now. Thank you, Vince! Well done.
2014 is a year that will probably forever haunt me. In March that year a close friend passed away so suddenly and months later my dear mother passed away the same day a Malaysian airline jet was shot down over Crimea on the 17th of July. The flight was known as MH17. My mother’s name was Mary and the surname started with H.
The article "In Memoriam 2014: Famous Faces We Lost" is a journey through the famous names that passed away that year. This is an opportunity to remember and document their major contributions to arts, entertainment and society. Each name is a special mark in history and leaves unforgettable memories.
Notable omission from this list is George Donaldson. He was a singer and one of the founding members of the Irish musical group Celtic thunder. Died on 3/12/14.
Those who are into the show NCIS probably know that Ralph Waite was the actor who played the role of Jackson Gibbs, the father of NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Ralph Waite died in 2014 as well.
Don Pardo even hosted some Price Is Right segments as did Johnny Gilbert ABC's Price Is Right announcer when celebrities (even Gilbert and host Bill Cullen with Gilbert hosting) playing for home viewers.
Russell Johnson was living in Washington State when he died. DEVO must be what started the whole Grunge Rock thing, I've heard better. Mickey Rooney was Santa Claus. O Captain, My Captain, I learned Poetry because of Robin Williams film Dead Poets Society (1989). Richard Attenborough was Santa Claus. Edward Herrmann was just reprising his Role from Annie (1982) when He Portrayed FDR in Eleanor and Franklin.
Uh, the photo shown for Don Keefer was not of the actor himself but of actor Thomas Sadowsky who played a character name Don Keefer on the TV series Newsroom. 🤦♂️
The past seemed so memorable and went more slowly...what is happening now with our world. All of us are just barely surviving the mega inflation of the last 50 plus years. Everyone wants money and that is it.
14:39 That's Thomas Sadoski, still very much alive, and not Don Keefer (in the HBO series "The Newsroom", his character name was Don Keefer).... A rare mistake, albeit quite a serious one, in an otherwise interesting and informative channel. YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS ONE DOWN AND RE-EDIT IT - this is how very damaging internet rumors begin.
El 29 de Abril estaría a cumplir 10 años sin Bob Hoskins Actor de Roger Rabbit y también de un largo viernes santo se llegaría a cumplir 10 años sin Bob hoskins 😢
Unless it whizzed by me, I didn't see the name of the handsome, sexy pro wrestler Sean Ohaire! He tragically killed himself around September 9th of this particular year.

Russell Johnson (The Professor) was a highly decorated WWII veteran. He survived his plane being shot down.
He received a purple heart for that 💜.
RIP
James Garner was the man ❤
He was great in Victor Victoria
Always superb in everything I saw him in.
14:46 - you have the wrong photo for actor Don Keefer. The one you posted is of Thomas Sadoski who played a character named Don Keefer on Newsroom.
Sad year, indeed. I lost my grandfather that year. 2 loses in one week, Robin Williams and my grandpa. Miss them both, 😢
Thank you for including John Pinette he was and still is my favorite comedian.
Glen Larson gave us some of the best TV shows of the 1970s and 1980s including "Quincy", "Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo", "Knight Rider", and "Magnum P. I." to name only a few. RIP Larson

@@LeeTheVetYes, that was a great episode of "The Twilight Zone!" I watched it twice! 👍
The scariest part is realising this is 10 years ago, when some names feel like we only lost them recently.
You are so right my friend. It goes terrifyingly fast. I'm 73 , survived Vietnam , 10 years on the road as a professional drummer . Sooo true
Wow, we lost a lot of heavyweights in the year of 2014
Don Zimmer was also a manager of the Boston Red Sox...
And was a coach for Tampa Bay Rays
A lot of big names lost in 2014 Shirley Temple , Lauren Bacall, Mickey Rooney. & James Garner all people I admired in Film and Television . It was a rough year for fans of Batman: The Animated Series, loosing both Alfred (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and Commissioner Gordon (Bob Hastings). They were both perfect in their roles.
The picture that's suppose to be Don Keefer is incorrect.
Thank you! That dude looked 20 years old!
R.I.P. Dave Madden who played Reuben Kincaid also guest starred on Happy Days and R.I.P. to Russell Johnson as the professor also guest starred on The Big Valley as Davey Dunnigan.
Russell Johnson,
Russell Johnson appeared in 2 episodes of The Twilight Zone.
RIP TO YOUR UNCLES.. ..AS WELL.....GREAT VIDEOS❤
I appreciate that
I recall seeing Russell Johnson in the lead role of an unsold pilot episode of a romantic comedy TV series, though I can't remember the title and I don't see it in his filmography.
I miss Joan so bad. Finally read Diary of a Mad Diva and it was funny as fuck.
Thanx for keeping all of this so respectful and including many of the people, like Johnny Winter, that are often over looked. Your touching friends and relatives memorials are really something. You must be a very nice guy. Thanx!
Thank you very much.

James Garner also directed some Rockford Files episodes and his first movie was "Brink Of Hell."
Also starred in the movie TANK (1984) and the remake of Marilyn's last unfinished movie "Move Over, Darling".
Keep up the good work!!❤❤❤
Thank you! Will do!
Very nicely done. It's strange to see some people who have passed ten years ago.
Grandes Estrellas QEPD.🌹💖🇨🇱🎞️📽️🙏
Some very notable people passed this year. Loved Joe Cocker and I used to listen to Casey Kasem all of the time.
Bob Hastings was on "As The World Turns." Played "Kelcy" as in the Owner of "Archie Bunker's" favorite Bar on "All In The Family." And dated in TV back to "McHale's Navy" IIRC.🤔🎤🍻📺B.W.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS. REST IN HEAVENLY PEACE. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Polly Bergen was so pretty and so was Marcia Strassman!
Basically mixed drug intoxication is a type of drug overdose, for those who didn’t know.
Not exactly....mixed drug intoxication involves drug interactions, not overdoses....for those who did not know.
10 years went fast, but they will remain in our hearts
4:50 man, it has been that long since he passed away.

Harold Ramis
Just want to make sure that’s who you’re talking about.
Thank you for referring to James Brady's death as a homicide.
It's in the records of his death by the medical examiner in Alexandria, Virginia, where he passed away from the injury sustained by the Reagan attempted assassination.
Mickey Rooney ❤️

Sadly we all must at one point meet the end, and when I hear of a celeb passing away it is always sad, but the passing of Robin Williams really hit me, one of my favorites.
I always felt that he didn’t get enough credit for being a very versatile actor.
Our love ones will forever be in your hearts 😢
3:17 Shirley Temple is THE greatest child star to have ever lived, hands down. For me, George "Spanky" McFarland comes in at second place. This year was sad for the passings,

Ralph Kiner never played for the Mets,. He was a beloved color commentator on t.v. for the Mets.
Kiner played for the Pirates, Cubs, and Indians (now Guardians).
Sincerest thoughts and condolences to you, regarding your uncles passing.
Thank you😊
You're welcome 😊
Philip Seymour Hoffman was also in Patch Adams and Twister. He was excellent in both of those.
Notable omission from this list is George Donaldson. He was a singer and one of the founding members of the Irish musical group Celtic thunder. Died on 3/12/14.
Sid Caesar was an amazing talent
Jay Traynor sang lead on She Cried , not any of the other songs
A lot of musicians died in 2014.
Ralph kiner did not play for the mets
Those who are into the show NCIS probably know that Ralph Waite was the actor who played the role of Jackson Gibbs, the father of NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Ralph Waite died in 2014 as well.

Don Keefer....wrong picture 😮
