Phyllis was an original as well as multitalented. She starred on Broadway in HELLO DOLLY, and she could sing very well.
She started off by becoming a classical music concert pianist, before conquering the realm of comedy. Her spoken voice cracked me up in that it had a Middle West cadence while her laughter became of legend.

We lost many good entertainers in 2012. Took many memories, some had a good run. God bless them.🕊🕊

Jack Klugman lived next door to my mom when they were kids. 6th and Morris Sts. in
South Philly. He and my cousin, Joe Roman who played
Detective Brill on "Quincy" grew up together and went to the same acting school as
Charles Bronson. The three of them were the best of friends.

If you look at where he is buried in Westwood, LA, the people in the niche below his have the surname 'Unger' - the name of Tony Randall's character in The Odd Couple. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are also buried in Westwood.

I have to say, this was done with beauty and compassion. I didn't realize some of these people passed on. It is a bit sad to watch, but it is something we will all go through eventually. This really makes you appreciate life and focus on what is really important to you. Well done and appreciated.

Neil Armstrong! The first man to step onto another celestial sphere. Let that sink in for a moment. I'll wait. Truly momentous.

James Farentino was also in a horror movie called DEAD and BURIED as a sheriff of a town run by a "mad" doctor. He also did numerous TV work including on Night Gallery.
Whitney Houston was an absolute shock to me. I have ALL of her music and she was a huge part of the mid to late '80s for me. RIP Whitney!
Dick Clark, such an icon...every New Year's Eve he was there in NY Times square getting us ready for the upcoming brand new year and closing out the old one.
Was also hosting on the $20,000 Pyramid game show.
Thank you Ms. Donna Summer for all the music and for the '80s hit "She works hard for the money".
Mr. Richard Dawson, thank you for hosting one of my all time favorite game shows "The Family Feud" for so many years! Also on "Match Game" TV show as a guest.
Andy, you'll always have a place in TV history as Andy Griffith and MATLOCK.
Phyllis Diller, wow, what an icon and life and to live to be 95.
Thank you, Neil Armstrong, for making mankind touch the surface of the moon for the very first time.
Andy Williams, your gift of Christmas music is timeless and will live on forever!

@@BenSussmanpro- I knew exactly the despicable behavior you referenced. I gave a weakly worded reply. It implies that Joe Paterno is someone whom I admired, then changed my mind. Tbh, I don't much follow professional sports in general. College sports, I don't even try to keep up. I'd heard of Joe Paterno as a winning coach - maybe winningest. When the scandal broke, I started to hear despicable things he'd done. More and more of them. I think it's sickening, 🤢horrific, inexcusable behavior, "that no amount of trophies can justify."

@@WilliamOverson Not my grievance, I’m a 66-year-old, anti-woke, white guy. Nothing against Otis. It’s just a reflection on the times. People like Otis-and Elvis “the King”-got rich off of “negro music.” That said, Elvis supported black musicians, and Otis even married a black woman. It is a sign of the 1950s that white guys got all the recognition for something they borrowed from blacks.

Where did you get the idea that a Greek man is white? Not every non brown/black person is white. Matter of fact, Greek people could be considered brown, they certainly ain't white. Nice try though.

I think those are names black people give other black people. "Duke" Ellington, "Count Basie", James Brown "Godfather of Soul". Just sayin'.
