Oh shit. That goddamn vr missions... See it was christmas... I was with my family in the middle of nowhere. I had my ps1 with me but in the rush i forgot to grab any games with it. I was a kid waiting patiently to get to open my christmas presents, and i already knew that i got a metal gear game so i didn't need other games. I opened the package... Made a victory dance and shortly after read from the cover what it was i was holding, AND i read that the original mgs game was required to play. Me:FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
Damn, I miss infiltrating areas when there were huge gunfights and explosions goin on in MGS4, wish The Phantom Pain had these kind of infiltrations in the open-world area.

mikikunmiki the FPS is limited to 30 on youtube, so its safe to say that it runs the same from the video. I played the demo of peace walker on PSP and the frame rate was shit. Much better on the HD port. The N-Gage did run much better.
So I'm a pretty huge gamer who's played tons of games on many different consoles but Metal Gear is not one of them. MGSV looks like a MASTERPIECE from what I've seen. But everything I've heard tells me that its not an easy game to jump into. If I bought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection would it be enough to understand V? I know I still won't be able to play 1 or 4 but I don't have a PS3 or PS1. And I gave my GameCube away last year so I cant play the remake for 1. Also is Ground Zeroes worth playing to help too?
Well, the HD collection is an excellent place to start. Try playing the HD collection in order: MGS3, Peacewalker, and then 2. (If you can get your hands on 1, then play that after Peacewalker, and of course, play 4 last. If you want to play Ground Zeroes, I say save that after 4, even then it takes place right after Peacewalker.) You do not need to play Revengeance at all, but if you enjoy a good action game such as the Devil May Cry series, then it is worth playing in my opinion. If you can't get your hands on MGS1, then just watch all the cutscenes of the game on RUclips, preferably the Twin Snakes cutscenes, since MGS1 is definitely dated.

Yeah, it looks pretty awesome. Being able to infiltrate someone else's base they designed and steal or destroy their crap. Even kill them if they're there. Also protecting your own base.

hey you didnt mention the ninja missions in the VR missions, which was really the whole point of buying it. i remember in one of them if you run around and let all the guards see you and gather them in one spot, you can stand there and deflect all their bullets with the sword endlessly. if you gathered enough guards the framerate would drop significantly when you did this and make the game nigh unplayable

Get the Legacy Collection. It's pretty much all the games in 1 package, and one of the discs is the MGS HD collection anyway, so might as well get the Legacy Collection :)
well phantom pain takes place before the ps1 and it's remake. you should start in MGS 3>MGS1>MGS2>MGS4 that'll give you the basic understanding of who everyone is. you wanna go more into detail then play as many games as you can following this videos canon timeline it's accurate to hell. i'd avoid reveangance though it's a stupid game. as for the upcoming games story line if you just wanna hit up to there then it's MGS3, peacewalker ( portable ops you can avoid) and ground zeroes before the upcoming
Well mgs3 and peacewalker would be a good start, especially if you plan on playing mgsv which takes place after peacewalker. After those mgs1, 2, and 4 should follow.

+yadnog at the end of ground zeroes snake escaped from outer heaven and the girl named paz had a bomb inside her body, then she jumped off the chopper but exploded mid air. the horn is the debris of the explosion and his hand was also damaged. ps. I haven't finished TPP and I still partly know what happened next so don't spoil me anything guys

I'm a Metal Gear Solid purist. After playing all the 3d games starting with MGS 1, I had to check out Metal Gear Acid. I never played the 2nd one, and hated the first one at first for obvious reason, but I found Metal Gear Acid (after a play through) to be one of my favorite metal gear games. It nails the feel of the Metal Gear universe. I saw the 2nd one and it looked tok cartoony and didn't have the same aesthetic or tone as the first, so I skipped it.
mgs 2 on pc.... i never could get a hang on of the ps2 version but since there is pc version i can now search it in my local old pc games store thanks :D

Finally got around to playing MGS4. All I can say is... It's fucking great!!! Very different from 1, 2 and 3 tone-wise and more in line with 5. I love em all equally

If i have to be completely honest, gameplay wise and technologically, metal gear solid peace walker has to be the best. For a psp game is pretty good, plus it has the most gameplay features, but the fact that it has only one analog stick(since is on the psp), and the multiplayer was weak, sadly brought the game down, but i still enjoy it, plus im more of a fan on the portable games.

MGS3, portable ops (I guess), peace walker, mgsv, metal gear, metal gear 2 : solid snake, mgs1 (or twin snakes), mgs2,and finally, mgs4.
I recommend starting from the first metal gear solid because when you played mgsv, its hard to cope with the low graphic and less features of mgs1

+yadnog at the end of ground zeroes snake escaped from outer heaven and the girl named paz had a bomb inside her body, then she jumped off the chopper but exploded mid air. the horn is the debris of the explosion and his hand was also damaged.

To me the best MGS games are 3 & 4 which are among my favorites along with Metal Gear Rising.
I'm a Metal Gear Solid purist. After playing all the 3d games starting with MGS 1, I had to check out Metal Gear Acid. I never played the 2nd one, and hated the first one at first for obvious reason, but I found Metal Gear Acid (after a play through) to be one of my favorite metal gear games. It nails the feel of the Metal Gear universe. I saw the 2nd one and it looked tok cartoony and didn't have the same aesthetic or tone as the first, so I skipped it.
mgs 2 on pc.... i never could get a hang on of the ps2 version but since there is pc version i can now search it in my local old pc games store thanks :D

They should make a spin of game as to what snake was doing when you played as raiden in Sons Of Liberty
They've made that game in fact it is mgs2 there is a selection on the main menu that is titled snake stories that shows what snake was doing

Finally got around to playing MGS4. All I can say is... It's fucking great!!! Very different from 1, 2 and 3 tone-wise and more in line with 5. I love em all equally

If i have to be completely honest, gameplay wise and technologically, metal gear solid peace walker has to be the best. For a psp game is pretty good, plus it has the most gameplay features, but the fact that it has only one analog stick(since is on the psp), and the multiplayer was weak, sadly brought the game down, but i still enjoy it, plus im more of a fan on the portable games.
Metal gear solid 2 looks fucking great for a game released in 2001!
And btw my favourite mgs game is guns of the patriots.

I understood so and that's exactly why I reacted. You may not have realised it yourself but what you write can also be racial even if your not a racist at heart. What I'm saying is do not mention someones race who have been made fun of, exactly because of the thing your writing through they're whole history when they all became known worldwide. Just like they also were humiliated because of how they speak. Personally Japanese happens to be my favourite language when it comes to how cool they're language sounds. That's why I love watching animes with japanese audio with subs. And games like Tekken Kazuya is my favourite since I was a kid. And Metal Gear Solid just happens to be made by a Japanese Hideo Kojima. They have not once reacted positively towards it. It's like this. Lets say this was a complete other question to another video like lets say about chimpanzees in a zoo and the man feeding the chimp was eating the bananas himself and he had asked instead. Why the fuck are eating the bananas himself. And I would have answered something like. Because black people like everything chimps do. It's just not right that's what I'm saying. I'm just a guy against racism and racist sentences or words. It's just how I am. Sorry I became that way in school when I learned all about it. And I didn't like any of the videos and examples they showed us there either. That game isn't considered canon by Kojima.
His list is of all the MG games not all the canon MG games, he includes Acid, Ghost Babel, Digital Graphic Novel, collections, and remasters, Social Ops, Arcade, Touch, MGO, Database, Mobile none of witch are canon. Thats why I pointed it out.
