    'A little shaky'. What stupid nonsense coming from a guy who watches no baseball, or at least not enough to know when a fielder is tracking a ball. Heard that same shit from Mad Dog Russo, another guy who doesn't know how to watch baseball. He called it an overrated catch. The only guy who called it right was Franzke, because, unlike those other two clowns, he watches the game and understands what he's watching. Rojas had it measured the whole way, took a flawless route to the ball, adjusted his angle for the wall, and even had the presence of mind to call off Marsh. The catch was never 'shaky', never in doubt for a second. Just like Harris' catch in Game 2. Rojas said after the game, if anything's hit his way, he's catching it. 'Shaky'... The only thing shaky is the baseball acumen of 99% of the broadcasters and pundits who pretend to cover the sport.

    Reminds you of the out he made to win the game in the first game he played with the Phillies this summer! He' is a fantastic addition to the team. Loved watching him in Reading too.

    all the armchair athletes that peaked in middle school PE class saying its nothing special. lets see you run full speed at an awkward wall corner sticking out and make that catch in a high pressure series and game shifting situation. fun fact, Harris tried to make the same play in a much safer area of that same wall, without the corner sticking out during the 2022 NLDS. he failed miserably allowing JT an inside the park homer.

    • @phillyinsiderpodcast
      @phillyinsiderpodcast  11 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly! Rojas ran a 102 ft for this baseball and got up to a max speed of 28.4 ft/s. As you said, that’s not easy task while running toward an awkward wall corner!

    • @don2deliver

    To everyone saying this catch isn’t difficult, they are not realizing how oddly shaped the wall is. If the ball was hit a little farther he could have very easily smashed into the corner. He did an awesome job of feeling out the wall, then making the catch

    • @NYYstateofmind
      @NYYstateofmind 11 месяцев назад

      If the ball was hit a little further it would have been a difficult catch...
      If he doesn't catch this ball he gets absolutely crucified by the media. This is a ball a major league center fielder should catch 100/100 times

    • @phillyinsiderpodcast
      @phillyinsiderpodcast  11 месяцев назад +6

      Covered 102 ft to get there. Max sprint speed 28.4 ft/s. It looks routine because Johan Rojas makes it look routine but covering that distance with the corner of the wall jutting out like that in CBP is far from an easy task.

      @@phillyinsiderpodcastthat's fine, he's a professional athlete.
      He got a good jump on the ball and he's fast. But I'm telling you If he didn't catch that ball he would have gotten shit for it. If you're a professional center fielder and you want to stay in the majors.. that's a routine catch

    • @phillyinsiderpodcast
      @phillyinsiderpodcast  11 месяцев назад +4

      NYYstateofmind I wasn’t responding to you just to clarify. But It’s still not a routine catch for all the reasons i stated.. I’ve been a Phillies fan for my entire life and I’ve seen countless center fielders miss that baseball bc they can’t get there in time or because they’re worried ab the wall.

    That catch was a little exaggerated, although it was a very nice catch it wasn’t that hard . There are outfielders that can certainly make that play and wouldn’t make it look that hard , I think because of the situation of the game and what it meant and the crowd noise made it look hard .

      He was obviously concerned about that corner that juts out and how much real estate he had left. But it was still a knee knocking moment. Jimmy Rollins said he’s seen balls hit there drop a lot because of the way the wall is shaped.

    Someone needs to tell Kimberly to look at film of his delivery. He is dropping his roughy shoulder like 5 or 6 inches. Thus his arm slot is horrible. Looks like he is pitching thru pain...

      Went full speed, ran a total of 102 ft from his starting position and reached 28.4 ft/second to go get a ball that was headed right for an awkward corner of the fence that juts out at CBP. Lifelong Phillies fan and I’ve seen countless center fielders miss that ball at all times of the year.
