Please I need your advice based on the paper I use, cos right now I can't afford Canson or Strathmore paper 😂. The paper I'm using is alabaster and it's not smooth as the quality paper I just mentioned. My drawings on it do not look good or maybe I put more pressure on the alabaster. I want is advice, thank you.

Bro to be honest with you, all these smooth papers won't make your work look so good like a deep drawings...the work of paper is to retain graphite or charcoal on it. So when they are very smooth it can't hold the charcoals so much, have you touched Strathmore and feel the thickness of that paper? Damn you should try that paper atleast once, you can purchase that in yards...the thicker the paper they better the work looks...and it's not smooth but has this smudgy surface.
