    Omg I just realized that I naturally used to draw a lot as a kid to get out of freeze state. Kids sometimes know how to respond without knowing it 😊

      Interesting that cursive writing was taken out of schools, I write in cursive in my journals to get out of freeze..... the circular motions are removed if you print or type.... this is an amazing argument to bring cursive back to school imho.... yet one more way generations are having the ability to self regulate removed so another chemical drug can take its place to treat a symptom instead of cure the cause.

    I've been guilty of over doing the healing stuff. I once meditated thrice that day. Then relapsed right back into my old avoidant ways . Do a tiny bit on a day. Like one deep breath. Don't go nuts.

    I freeze whenever someone yells at me about something even though I didn't do it. My throat is closed, my heart is beating fast and I have hard time breathing and staying calm. The best thing I can do is... to YAWN. Apparently it helps relax the mouth muscles, the throat opens and also the yawning helps you to relax and not take it so seriously.

    I figured out how to combat both overwhelm and freezing. Ready? The key is trusting your gut and refusing to be gaslit by people telling you to read your situation in a way that does not match your experience and what your gut says. Thank you Gabor Mate!

    • @saltandpepperandmint
      @saltandpepperandmint 9 дней назад

      Yeees!!! The way my gut is ALWAYS right I don’t even acknowledge that others tell me otherwise. Their opinion is so irrelevant but it can be hurtful if it’s from a loved one.

    I quit my nursing job a year ago because of the toxicity and being on call 24/7. I have been frozen since. I beat myself up all the time for being lazy, lethargic, etc fill in the blanks with all the bad names. I rarely leave the house. The Freeze condition sounds spot on. I will try these methods and try to redirect my mental discussion. Thank you for spelling this out.

      I have the same thing after teaching for 40 years and getting chronically ill. I was traumatized by my adult son who was manic and in the wrong meds. I couldn’t figure out why I was afraid to drive or do anything! It’s awful after being capable of doing anything, to going into a state of paralysis.

    • @bendy6626
      @bendy6626 Месяц назад +2

      Nursing is incredibly traumatizing. The unspoken command is that you sacrifice yourself -- used to be for the patient, now it is for the system (their $$$). Burnout is common, and actually the sign of a healthy mind....healthy minds can't stay in such a schizo environment.
      Boost B vitamins, lay out in the sun, remember all the good you did despite the system, and let the rest go. Plant a garden, or at least a few pots of food & flowers. It will help.

      I’m sorry it’s still impacting you so much!
      For what it’s worth, I’m realizing I was in freeze for a large chunk of my life but it doesn’t affect me nearly as much these days.
      If I can make the progress I have without having the right words for what I was experiencing, you definitely can!
      This is a gross analogy but I think crying during/after long term freeze is like when you quit smoking and you have to cough up all that gunk in your lungs.
      Even though they’re not being exposed to poison anymore, it still takes time for your lungs to clear everything out.
      When it’s happening it might feel gross but in the long run it’s actually progress.

    How do I get myself motivated to get back into life again. I’m stuck and I’ve been stuck since late 2020. I’m not myself. I don’t recognize myself. Become something I don’t like. I’m trying so hard to change. I’ve been in counseling intensely for several years. Read self-help books. I practice meditation. There’s all kinds of things I could mention that I do. Journaling, drawing breathing techniques, and I still feel pretty much the same on a day-to-day basis. Stuck in a slow spiral towards the end of my life With no one there to even witness it.

I get too focused on internal and fixing, without balancing what exists that really is beautiful and wonderful. If I look at people, I wrongly focus on the too many problems left to solve.

      How about soul retrieval? Sounds like a part of your has left your body - you don’t feel like yourself. Did something happen before you went into freeze? I’ve had that happen and the moment I sort of woke up, I felt a swoosh and that part that left came back and I was myself again. Find someone who does soul retrieval.

      I feel you, I have no idea if this'll help at all but I feel similar in a lot of ways, I think I hear that you're trying to "do" a lot and from what I've been learning it seems (maybe I'm speaking personally here but yeah) it may help to try "being" more, I've heard another video that spoke to me where the guy said for many of us we spend so long and try so hard to see ourselves and projects to work on and fix and sometimes we have to get out there and "live" more, find what matters to you and gives your heart joy and makes you feel more like you? You able to connect to your inner child? Find what makes your eyes sparkle in admiration or makes your heart warm? Life isn't all roses as well I know.. but when life feels hopeless, I think we need to find these kinda things that help us want to keep going! I hope you find yourself again and what makes you want to keep living (not just surviving) ❤🫂

    👏👌your tips are always very valuable and helpful! Thx for sharing it on here. I tried all three methods. First one the circular motion is helpful to unfreeze at all. Just to change the channel wave in the brain. Breathing the third is the must effective one I find. That might be personally as since Covid I deal with lung challenges and it kind of helps here too. Like I just feel every breath brings more energy and easy flow immediately. Colour draw just shifts my mind into a new tusk. I love creative work but I guess it doesn’t help with the actual de freezing. Colour draw might want to get me into something new with colours and paints 🎨😅😂. I did a lot of Mandala drawing as daily tusk in a burnout rehab some years ago. It was the first learning of mindfulness for starters. For me de freezing is something with exercise that’s how my body gets it most easily done and get outside into nature. At the moment I am in a golfing 🏌️ training course. The total focus on the ball I find extremely de-freezing I forget everything around me, will be tired after two hours as I tend to 💯 focus but feel great 😂😁and come out as balanced and happy and energetic.

    I just came across this video and was thinking that it’s sounds a lot like me. I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and menopause concurrently. My pain never fully reconciles although I’ve had a spinal cord stimulator implanted. I cannot tell if my fatigue is from physical pain or menopause or emotional stress. All I know is that I’ve spent the last week in bed, not wanting to talk to anyone, even my husband, my kids or my friends. If I go to my anesthesiologist, it’s CRPS, if I go to my GP, it’s menopause but I know that I’m in there somewhere trying to get away from my emotional stress as well.

    I have reasons for not trusting the field of psychology YET I see your holistic aspects seem to allow me to connect with the process of therapy for my body which I haven't taken care of on a different level, can you recommend a website to connect with a holistic therapist in my area? Generation X has a specific set of beings with a "conventional" therapy ideology.....Holistic Therapy is all so new (week) sadly, there are so many pictures of me as a young child I'm in a freeze state OR a seizure ...I will let you know which method helps me, "staring off into space isn't always innocent its a warning Sezure time

    I've been in 24/7 derealisation for the past year now. I never feel present. I guess this is a freeze state. Would these techniques work for this, even though it's a constant state? Would you be able to do a video on derealisation disorder and how to come out of it? Thanks 🙂

    These solutions are for how to get out of situational freeze. These solutions will likely not work for someone who is in a chronic freeze state. Speaking from my own personal experience, I already do all of these things and similar, and I am still stuck in functional freeze.

    Ok but let’s think about why your body does it and what it requires from you. Your body puts you in freeze because something was dangerous. You need to find out what’s dangerous, or what you think is dangerous, not just shut the fire alarm off!
