      Mandeep Singh pitcher are more like highways now, two new balls no reverse swing and thicker bats, no wonder even a country like pakistan is struggling to produce more legends like the two w’s. Sad as a cricket fan 😞

      @@alanrutherford2876 Swing is an art and now a days pakistani bowlers want to be fast rather then learning the art of swing the last guy I think that had awsome swing was Mohammad Asif Who sadly destroyed his own career he could have been the guy who if he played perhaps be on the same level as waqar and wasim

    No lie Waqar younis for me could have been the very best ever the GOAT. He made the ball swinging look magical. He was the fastest bowler through the air!!! I have never seen any bowler even today with advancements in tech able to swing the bowl almost at will as Waqar younis did. This guy is the real king of swing!.

      @@horrorflixurdu9138 Waqar was very aggressive , would go for the Kill on every delivery. while Wasim played mind games with batsmen , made them look fool & then got them OUT with huge swinging deliveries. Waqar & McGrath said he was a Complete bowler.

    Waqar retired at the age of 32. In that also he didn't play nearly 2 years due to politics. Imagine if he had played those two years and until 36 of age.

      Pakistan should hire some decent fielding coaches, take on former great fielders or try to like Neil Fiarbrother, Jonty Rhodes, maybe Jacques Kallis too?

They should try and re-hire him or another proved good fielder. if they don't have the discipline and or will to improve their fielding, Pakistan will never achieve or play to its full potential on a consistent basis. Its a waste.

    Peak Waqar is the greatest fast bowler ever. Post injury he became a trundler.
    Whereas Wasim was excellent throughout his career, injury or not, debut or last game.
    Waqar and Wasim are like Lara and Sachin of fast bowling. Peak vs Consistency.

    He was easily the fastest bowler of all time during first 5 years of his career. I admire him a lot for him knowing that side-arm bowling action would bring injuries BUT he never compromised pace for longevity until got injured in mid 90s. Pre-1995 his strike rate and average was way way better than all others. He along with Steyn are the ONLY bowlers with ability to swing at high pace.

    Waqar was a true definition of a fast bowler. Starting with the run up, action, pace, swing, aggression and accuracy being the cherry on top. Extremely rare to find all these factors in one fast bowler.

    He got Injured before the 92 wc and was bowling at 150kph+ before 92,had it not been for that injury,waqar would have been amongst the fastest ever

    Wasim said recently that Waqar was not 18 yrs old ,at debut ,but around 20 yrs.
    So waqar retired at 34 and not at 32 .

    I would agree with sabbir, no disrespect for little master but it would have been interesting to see the battles between Waqar, Waseem and Tendulkar. Unfortunately the greatest bowlers and batsmans of their era failed to play against each other due to some silly political games.

    2Ws did not play against Sachin in their peak (early 90s)otherwise what could have happened easily understood given the fact that Sachin failed against Shoaib in his peak numerous occasion and both 2Ws were far better bowler compare to Shoaib.

    Well sir a bowler first plans and executes his wicket taking ball as per batsman style of playing. if he hits the ball at stumps every time he would become predictable and on top of it what do you think a batsman playing against him are school level cricketers they are also trained to defense those kind of deadly balls

      @@@sheikhmuzamil4891 Superior strike rate by a considerable margin. More 5 wicket hauls despite far less matches played. Wasim is probably the most skilled bowler that ever lived but ultimately, it's about wicket taking. Dale Steyn and Brett Lee are absolute machines. The fast bowling hall has many champions that make the the debate for greatest a tough one but if you really take a look, Dale Steyn and Brett Lee are actually head and shoulders above the field respectively in each of the game's formats.

      @@elialvah now I would say starc is better than Lee in odi cricket. He took faster 50,100 as well as 150 wkts. Than Lee in odi with better average till now. If he could be able to maintain this form for few more years he will surely be called better than Lee.

    Ad got his years wrong there.
    Waqar Played for Surrey in 1989-90.
    Destroyed England with Wasim in the 1992 tour of England.

      If he hadnt returned then,to this day,people would talk about his pace and skill,like they talk about Mohammad Zahid.

      ali khan he was kicked out because wasim akram led a revolt against him in the 2003 World Cup, and yes after Waqar’s comeback he had lost almost 2 yards in pace, but having said this waqar still performed exceptionally well during 1997-2003, it was a very serious injury he had many had written of waqar’s chances of ever playing again but credit to him and his determination for making sure he played again

      Vicky after his 2 back injuries lost his pace,was never the same.And he was rightly booted out in 2003.Once he was over his best,he should have stepped down himself.
