Nice work Jason. I probably would feel better about taking on automotive and motorcycle work if I had all your tools and books. As it is I mostly will only do it in emergencies or for good friends who will be more understanding about me fumbling around for a while.
Nite 0wl when I bought that set of books back in 05-06 ish I wasn’t overly thrilled buying them but over the years I’m always reminded that it was one of the better investments. Of course I was heavier auto then with AAA and GM but it ended up being an essential shop tool. Not nearly as much now ya know but still handy to have!
Very cool! I read about the Curtis clippers in (I think) my license study guide and all it did was confuse me. Is there anything special you would’ve had to do if you had cut it in the Blitz?
LockPicking Patrolman yes, on many foreign car keys you can only cut one side then switch to a duplicator to cut one whole key, then take the first cut side of the new copy and use it as your guide key for the other side of the original cut key. Obviously this sucks but because of how the key sits in the jaws often it is highly difficult to get the key to sit correctly when flipped to do the other side. This presents one of the two reasons why we only sell keys cut like this in quantity 2. The other reason is because no one should only have just one car key so they get “forced” into it this way. I’ve had many “thank you so much for making two keys!” years after the fact, because of that policy :) It applies to all even when clipping :)
SE Lock and Key ok cool. I’ve duplicated one car key on my machine and did it the way you described and surprisingly it worked 😂 are keys like this the reason the Blitz has so many different jaws and tip stops?
Interesting to see what a locksmith gets up to - thanks! That electric wire brush thing that smooths the sharp edges on the key ... your fingers went quite close. I guess it'd hurt if you fingers tough it while it was spinning?
Oh I forgot to ask . Old timer are your teeth like Stars ? They come out at night ? I hope you and Kim enjoyed the. Pork chop s. The skinny fried pork chops.
Thank you for another amazing video! What was the red/burgundy book you referred to as the bible? Are they still available? Thanks for all you do for us newbies have a wonderful week.
