How to add Amazon Images using the API ( No Paid Tools Needed )

- From December 2023 the Amazon affiliate program site stripe will no longer be available.
Without paying for a tool like Lasso ( Which I use ) you can still use images from Amazon by using their API.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to do that step-by-step
You can also use a theme like Popcorntheme for WordPress to get better product boxes that convert better.

Or
Use a tool like Lasso like I do which pulls the image automatically using the API

Thank you so much
So fast and so simple
I was sick of watching long videos.❤
Glad it helped!
Nailed it Carl - great solution!
This was such a helpful video. Thank you!!! I can't wait to try the scratchpad to see what I can build.
It’s a real pain but I don’t know any other way without using a paid tool and confirming to Amazon’s toc
Thank you very much for the explanation
You are a lifesaver! I only became aware of the change and almost had a meltdown!
Hope it helps
Thank you SO much!
Thank you Carl.
You’re welcome
This was so helpful, thanks very much Carl. Really frustrating that Amazon made these changes and then made it difficult to understand how to fix.
You’re welcome. Are you doing the Amazon influencer program?
@@CarlBroadbent Is that the same as the amazon affiliate program? I'll look into this.
@@BucketListTravellers no. It’s where you make videos about products and they are placed next to them on Amazon
Checkout my other channel about that. side hustle insider it might help explain it better. There is a full tutorial
You are a literal life-saver!!!! Thank you for shwoing how to get around that annoying blip where the took the image feature out!!!
You’re welcome
Do you know of a way to add these to your website, but make it able to be able to click the image instead of the link, does that make sense? Thank you!@@CarlBroadbent
Thanks Carl. 👍😎
Hope it helps. It's a long and complicate way of doing it but i dont know another method that does not use paid tools
Great tutorial, but my concern is that when I render the HTML, it includes a bunch of CSS classes and the resultant code for each image is enormous. In your example, I do not see the extra stylesheet code
thanx, it was very helpful to know a "non-paid' solution to this, where most of the people are trying to promote their affiliates.
Or just bin Amazon completely..
👍
Great video as always Carl. I have a question, did you also have to swap the images that were created with Koala product reviews or is there no need too because they were imported in a different manner.
I think they are okay as I feel koala uses their api to pull them in. I would check but I think they will be fine.
I can also ask the owner that question in discord
Your screen shows 00:23 "We've updated the Product Advertising API policy to reduce usage limits for accounts which are not driving revenue..." Does this mean we only get limited usage of the API or that it throttles or charges us if we use this and are not bringing in enough revenue?
Thank you so much for this. Quick question - do you need to add a no-follow to the html? Or does it come across as no follow already?
Good question. I haven’t checked the code to see. I will take a look and investigate that further
@@CarlBroadbent It's 6 months now please answer the question I hope you've checked it.
Hi thank you Carl, this was helpful. I'm wondering how to make these images nofollow. Any idea?
I'm wondering the same thing.
I followed these instructions and was able to get the HTML produce by Scratchpad, but there's no picture appearing.
This is a fab video, thanks. What about WZone? Amazon import etc on there imports images aswell or will this be a no go from December too? 🤔🤞
I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think that will work.
@@CarlBroadbent okedokey, thanks Carl 👍
WooZone is bloated and slows your website because of constant API calls and redirects. If you do a few products, it may be OK, but it takes up a lot of resources if you're doing hundreds of products. And the development team seems to have stopped working on it. I'd stay away, just my opinion.
@YerainAbreu thank you, I'll take a serious look at alternatives 👍
@@JoJo_GSD Lasso is my favorite
But how can i use the amazon images without the API, i don't have make the 3 commissions yet, my account is not approved yet, i want just to add images in my website without the clickable option, How can i do it ? Help
You can't really unless you just copy and paste the image and dont make it clickable. But i still think that breaks TOC. Just do all you can to get three sales. Send emails out, be active in facebook groups. push one of your sales post to people. Whatever it takes to get three sales
Thanks for your reply @@CarlBroadbent
Do whatever you can yes, but do not share affiliate links in places they cannot track like emails and private Fb groups.
Alternatively you can take your own photos and/or just link to buttons.@@CarlBroadbent
That's helpful, but they said there is an error because of too many requests, do I have to keep trying until it works?
Wait 48 hrs.
any idea why it's saying "Error! TooManyRequests
The request was denied due to request throttling. Please verify the number of requests made per second to the Amazon Product Advertising API."
Too many requests usually. Reach out to support if that doesn’t clear up tomorrow
thanks man! I'm going to have to replace A LOT of images. Bummed@@CarlBroadbent
You need to wait 3 days after creating your API account. I contacted support and that's what they said
the images don't convert well to mobile use, they slide out of view, any ideas to fix that?
Submit a ticket to the owner I’m
Sure they will offer a solution. I’ve not seen that issue on my site
I did exactly what you did, and in the rendered response box it says "Error! TooManyRequest".
Wait 48 hrs. You should be able to access it now.
same
the same
Why not just hot link it? Pretty much the same except without the box. Right click, copy link address, done.
Doesn’t follow their terms and condition I believe.
Hi hear you there, but, (and I could be mistaken), if you take a look at the image URL of a given product and compare it to the code you generate using the API, it seems like its the same link, just with additional html wrapped around it. the HTML is certainly not necessary, and there's no way for them to track the use of the API generated snippet since there's no javascript. Again, I may be mistaken, but yeah.@@CarlBroadbent
Are they taking away text links?
Not yet. But it wouldn’t surprise me if they do next year
@@CarlBroadbent I"m struggling with this. Why would Amazon cannibalize all the links that have been created over the years for this? Maybe they want to kill the affiliate program or be able to turn it off/on whenever they like? Or is there some kind of spamming going on and they want to tighten the ship? And the process seems a lot more complicated now.
@@thebikeracer I’m not sure why they have sone it. The process is almost impossible. It’s a terrible style and platform for affiliates now. Maybe they don’t need us now. The reduction in commissions was a sign they aren’t bothered anymore. It’s a small percentage of their profits
@@CarlBroadbent It's definitely crazy. It's getting harder and harder to figure out. It would be interesting to know what percentage of all of their sales are generated by affiliate sales. I wonder if it's possible that it's so small that they are fazing it out. It stinks for folks getting into the game late. And if companies start cutting back on advertising...scary times ahead.
