- Roland Micro Cube GX is a perfect practice amp for the electric guitar. You can connect external source audio player with the provided cable, and jam on with your favourite backing tracks.
Roland Micro Cube GX is also battery powered, which is convenient for travels. outdoor parties, and it is very suitable for the private lessons if you are a music teacher.
On board sounds are maybe not the best for the studio recordings. However, you can use Roland Micro Cube GX as a DI box and plug into the PA system live (you need a special cable for this). You can also use headphones for the silent practice.

This is one of THE best reviews of this amp on RUclips. Nice playing. Accurate recording. Well done!
I had the first version and really liked it and bought the Cube GX version a few years ago and I've got to say it's given me the most enjoyment while playing guitar of any amp I have ever owned. It sounds great, it covers so much ground and doesn't require all kinds of pedals or things that can get in the way of sitting and enjoying playing. Plug in headphones and it sounds like you're in the studio playing through world-class amps.
Wow! Thank you for this review!! Definitely I'm gonna get one to practice at home!
Great little amp. Cant believe how big this can sound for its size.
I very been looking for a really good mini amp....you.made the decision easy...Thanks!
Very detailed review with some informations, which are not shown in other RUclips-reviews of the Roland Micro Cube GX. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@ddomusic hey I just started playing guitar since a teen in 1996… got Epiphone LP Special ii player pack w/10w Electar (Epiphone) amp that didn’t seem too good. I just bought this Micro Cube GX (demo model for $140) from Sweetwater. So far it sounds great because I play in the bedroom at a pretty low volume. Is this better than that 10w Epiphone amp and *can I use my iPhone 14 Pro with the Roland Micro Cube GX and GarageBand?!* I appreciate any response or helpful suggestions.
Really outstanding review, super professional production. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Best video, just what I needed! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@ddomusic it really was and I appreciate the work. Unfortunately, I returned mine. I just really didnt like the sound. Maybe it would would have been better with external effects. But I wanted a plug and play no wires kind of set up, and this just didnt do it for me.
sounds great i like the bluesy tones you are getting out of it .
For simplicity , portability and full sound this cannot be beaten.Just play... instead of buying too much gear !
Agreed… I played when I was 16 back in 1996 and bought a Fender squire strat and a Marshall tube amp for like $300 used. Then chasing that Nirvana sound bought a DOD FX69 Grunge pedal, which sounded sick on that 5w (maybe 10w?) Marshall tube amp… think it was a DSL something. It had the gold inlay with so many knobs I didn’t know what to do except just mess around and find something I liked. These days you have to be good at tech support to get good sounds with these amps. I’m old (42) that’s why I bought this. Just simple knobs and no app necessary. I’m *curious if I could use this with a GarageBand on iPhone 14?!*
Very thorough review. I wish you'd compare the Micro to the Cube 10GX. It would be interesting to see the difference.
Exactly best review ever
I have the 20X and it's killer so I bought the Micro Cube 3 GX. Fun shit!
Nice. Might get one.
I have 2 of them :-) One is in my vacation house, second one in my studio for teaching. I have to mention that I never use a power supply. Batteries last 3-5 months in my case. This is by far the best practice and teaching amp on the market in my own opinion. Thank you for watching the video :-)
Yess... classic stack does classic Oz rock & roll sounds really well
Very nice. Thx
best amp in the world..
Just bought the last one from Sweetwater as a demo. Unfortunately in white but as a beginner I’m not worried about aesthetics considering my Epiphone special ii already has a loose cable jack?! I think it’s because I was playing sitting on the bed and the way the cable sticks out it put pressure on the jack. I noticed it crackling last two times I played it. I bought a right angled Ernie ball braided cable which hopefully will help with the stress. I’m wondering if I could replace the loose jack myself… as it’s only 4-screws and maybe some soldering which I can do. I just want to jam and the Electar 10 amp is just terrible for any kind crunchy or metal sound. I don’t want an amp that is PC dependent as I don’t own a PC anymore since I’ve had my iPhone the past 5-10yrs. I’m excited for this amp! I played in the 90’s as a teen with a Marshall practice tube amp (Fender squire strat I got off my brothers friend for $300 all in with cables)for about 6/months and just gave up. My old 90’s Fender squire strat was definitely better quality than this Epiphone LP special ii but the fun factor is so much more now that I appreciate it more. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🤘
so it does work with android. thanks for clearing this up
This video you record with recording out?
MAJORCOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it good for acoustic guitar or violin
What do u think if u hv to compare between this roland and fender champ 20? What is ur opinion dude?
Roland micro cube best amp ever
Roland
how much are the batteries lasting in terms of hours? thanks
This or Boss Katana 50 mk 11?
Very similar features to the Vox mini amp.
Except this one sounds much better
Roland is WAY better.
No Bluetooth?
Can i plug it directly into the power source or do i have to stick with the battery?
You don't have to stick with batteries
@@jdmitchell2 are you sure? I never hear anyone cover whether you can directly plug this in
Ah I see a dc input! Nice
Its a plug in amp with the added option of using batteries.
Yes, it has a power source, you do not need any batteries. I have one myself
no drum samples or miv input? Back to the Vox Mini 5 then
Nice job, well done! Tired of trying to understand all those windbags from England. Thank you.
Wind bags from England? Why that comment? Was there a need for that insult?
This or katana mini ?
I would choose this
@@DiscontinuedChannelOne I also chose this cheers 😁😎
@@hemantakakati1103
Cheers lol I’m getting this from Christmas, I can’t wait
@@DiscontinuedChannelOne its so awesome amp this is more than enough for me and its very loud (i never set the volume knob beyond 7-8 clock wise) and its clean is out of this world especially jc clean. This chrismas you are gonna rock!
I just got a Katani Mini and not sure why, it's very limited, sounds ok but not great, and the power/volume is very disappointing on it. The Roland is more of a "real' amp,
mini or not. It's really intended more as a true compact portable amp for busking or practice. It seems to pump out a lot of volume level considering its rating. And, it sounds phenomenal. I also own a Vox mini G2 and that's also worth buying for similar reasons. The Katani Mini is spectaculary overrated and seems rather "cheap." No idea
where the great reviews are coming from on that one. The actual 50 or 100 watt Katana amps, however, are that good.
