I would like to commend Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry for exercising their first amendment right. Each individual has a legal right to voice their opinion and concerns about a particular problem. I am unaware of the NYPD policies and guidelines of how an employee should express themselves when confronted about ongoing issues involving members of the NYPD? However I believe that Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry would conduct themselves while addressing concerns a civilian may have in a positive and respectful manner, without degrading an individual or a group of people race, religion, cultural background, and political agenda. Don't get me wrong I don't believe in disrespect inorder to take a stand against something or someone. However The NYPD top brass has strong support from Mayor Adams and his administration which is a clear indication that Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry are exercising their rights in a constructive manner. No individual or a large number of people cannot violate or deny police officers their rights. Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry are not subjected to disciplinary actions by their Department, State or local elected officials If they're expressing their beliefs with a positive attitude. However I respectfully advise both Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry to invite City Council members, advocates, or other people whose belief about a particular topic differs from theirs to have a imperson roundtable panel discussion. To help resolve the ongoing tensions between the NYPD and some of my fellow civilians. God bless you both Chief Chell and Commissioner Daughtry thank you for your contributions in keeping the people of New York City safe, have a great day.
