One of the great joys of this hobby is that even if you dont build models yourself its so good to see others' enthusiasm and excitement when they get a new kit! I havent built a Miniart interior kit myself yet am not brave enough even though I have had one in my stash for years. Good luck with build looking forward to seeing final model. I know next to nothing about Australian armour in WW2.
Crazy levels of detail indeed!😮All those rivets = a drybrusher's paradise! lol Also the textured floors!😁That kit will keep you busy over your winter! 👍👍
The Australian Armour & Artillery museum has a full video of an M3 Grant tank restoration, including anti grenade armour, I notice the kit doesn't have mesh screens that provided some protection against satchels, anti tank grenades and magnetic mines, this was an Australian modification :) :)
All the old photos I’ve seen of them in Australia when they first came they were used for training and were not modified but I haven’t seen every photo so I may be wrong.
Yes indeed...the Aussies used Grants & Maltildas against Japanese forces in Burma, etc.. I am sure that many of the Aussie AFVs fighting the Japanese would have had the anti-grenade mesh screens, but not the training tanks.
Yeah we got a lot of the M3s and they stayed at the army bases where they trained their tank engineers on them. They would wire them up, get them going, drive around a bit, pull them apart and put them back together.
Another Miniart marvel..Miniart are a class alone..Good luck with the build Jon.!.🇬🇧🇳🇿👍
Yes Miniart have taken the lead I reckon.

Give a full interior Miniart kit a try! Hahaha. It’s a full commitment though. They take a lot of time and forward thinking.

Yeah I reckon the Miniart Lee/Grant is a hidden gem that rarely gets the attention it deserves.

M3 Grant
Yeah it’s really unnecessarily confusing
