This one of the most devestating songs ever, even though it's one of Nile's slowest. The ending is basicly the soundtrack to the end of the world. Incredible
Saw them live during this album! Best night of my life. Autographed T-shirt and hang out with the band while everyone else was inside watching Behemoth! Epic Fn night!
This seems to me to be Nile's God Of Emptiness, epic song and a nice change of pace from the other stuff. Love it when Death Metal bands do this. Just shows the level of songwriting and musicianship that they achieve.
To the people commenting on the skin colours of the people in the video, I hope you haven't forgotten how diverse Ancient Egypt (mainly Ptolemaic) was. It was a mix of ethnicities consisting of the original Egyptians and also Roman infantry stationed because of Caesar and Cleopatra's union such as the Gabiniani. Also, interracial marriages were not uncommon. Sometimes this mixture of cultures resulted in the birth of Gods that were parallel in each faith's idea of belief. There was even a brother of Hades allegedly that was born with the head of a jackal, as with Anubis.
the lyrics, "Who dares disturb my blissful sleep Again in anger must I rise." This is what my 10 month old is like if I wake him up by stepping on the creaking floor.
Glad you like them, I really suggest you give all of their albums a listen. They're really good. The first ones you should check out though are: 1. Those Who The Gods Detest 2. In Their Darkened Shrines 3. Black Seeds of Vengeance
I started with Black Seeds of Vengence when that first came out so that one will always kick ass. But I love From Who the Gods Detest. and Annihilation of the wicked
They shall play this awesome song when I finally awake from my blissful sleep and arise from my sarcophagus........\m/ *This song has the best outro in music history.*
I pity people who claim to appreciate good music but don't get extreme metal. They are missing A LOT. Not only the actual music, but also all these outstanding artists who sacrifice so much for their art. Honestly, these days where else but in extreme metal can one see such integrity, modesty and dedication?
I just saw them last night (charleston, sc) and they were amazing. What an awesome performance. This is true metal. Oh yeah, this is one of the songs they performed last night...I hope they come back soon.
The heavy rolling underline in that song is just frighteningly solid. It just keeps rolling on an on, all over you and pounds you into the sands of the Egyptian deserts.
Who dares disturb my blissful sleep Again in anger must I rise How long unknown I lay entombed My world, so long forgotten Did disown me Usurper, I was scorned Ah The suffering they did inflict Stained with cosmic black sins The sun no longer sets me free
Met these guys 11 or 12 years ago. I'm glad that they're still around! They were my fave metal band, because they sounded different than all the other ones. Rock on.
Saw these guys play back in 2001 or 2002, was the best show of this type that I got to see. Met the 'singer' and he was really cool, too. So glad that they're still around!
If mainstream artists still had the musical integrity to write what they want to hear creatively, not fall prey to big record companies that are purely gunning for profit, and write without catering to fans, then hell yeah it should be mainstream.
I discovered them through one of my friends... She doesn't like metal, but her dad knows the singer from this band. I almost got down on my knees and bowed to her after she told me about this band and I listened to them...
This is the song that got me into Nile. I heard it on Headbangers Ball on MTV2. It was a lot like the first HBB, you'd sit through a bunch of junk to get to gems like this.

They somehow made a brutal video about egyptians that felt authentic without anything egyptian in the video whatsoever
Saw them live during this album! Best night of my life. Autographed T-shirt and hang out with the band while everyone else was inside watching Behemoth! Epic Fn night!
Best Nile is the slow Nile.....
@@mleni12 exactly 😅.... its no Mystery
Hell yea Sarcophagus and To Dream of Ur are two of my favorite Nile songs. Slow and entrancing and heavier than time!
This seems to me to be Nile's God Of Emptiness, epic song and a nice change of pace from the other stuff. Love it when Death Metal bands do this. Just shows the level of songwriting and musicianship that they achieve.
Yes but its also nice for them to be consistent as well
I wish they did more of this kind of stuff!
@@xxLonniExxI second that.
One of the best death metal tracks ever devised by mortals.
You imply Nile are merely mortal...
Yes agreeable
It was actually devised by a Pharaoh-God. Nile just channeled it
Crushing tone. That's the kind of distortion that cracks ribs.
An actual one word song title!!
A long one tho

this song is about awakening Ra out of his blessed rest and him remembering all the mean things humans did to him, and forgot about Ra.
... And a great tune too😅
And how mightily pissed off he is
3:00 - 3:30 one of the greatest moments of Metal and Music in general… Majestic!
This is Nile's 'Voice Of The Soul'
One of the greatest death metal songs.
Unas, the slayer of the gods 🤘
I can't even stress how awesome Nile is as a band and as people...generous souls.
Talked (very briefly) to Karl Sanders after one of their shows and he was just the nicest guy.
Awesome lyrics,
awesome sound,
awesome riffs,
awesome song,
awesome band.
4:24 - that ride stuff is just incredible
Especially since his second ride is a sawblade lol. Can’t afford or (most likely) doesn’t want to handle 2 full sized rides, so you gotta make due
the lyrics,
"Who dares disturb my blissful sleep
Again in anger must I rise."
This is what my 10 month old is like if I wake him up by stepping on the creaking floor.
my condolences for your act of reproduction
This strikes home for my 9 month old son too hahaha!
The single most Titanic sized riff possible. As giant as The Great Pyramid itself!
The riff is so heavy yet slow pace at the same time.
This song is so majestic.
Hail nile! :D
So simple but so brutal. I love this track.
You really think this is simple?!
Could you suggest some more technical songs?
@@nr655321 we could say it's simple if we compare it with other Nile songs
Damn if this is simple then how simple is Pantera walk? Enter sandman?
The simplicity is so perfect. The highs and lows. Deep frequencies and the highs. All done simply. I get that comment
One of their best songs. That ending is fucking epic.
I've been listening to Death Metal for a while but never given Nile a go this is my 1st time, I'm impressed

Such a sad song. Like a ballad of death metal from Nile. Excellent stuff
the intro is really dark and mystic
Gotta love that saw blade cymbal
Fuck yeah. That shits awesome. I'm going to have to get one for my drum set.

Easily my favorite Nile album! The production on it is perfect. The players on it were outstanding as well!
Stained with cosmic black sins

By FAR my favorite Nile song. It's so catchy
They shall play this awesome song when I finally awake from my blissful sleep and arise from my sarcophagus........\m/
*This song has the best outro in music history.*
Sooooooooooo fucking right dude!!!! This outro is still haunting me!
You might like Frog Leap’s “Africa “...
The only band that will live after the apocalypse.
Highly probable
I agree, but also Behemoth.
Holy god of drums!
That three minute mark onward, always gives me goosebumps.
Damn, what a feast of sounds!

for something this heavy, any other style of vocals would not work. I think they are amazing.

Peak of death metal music. After this period in time, everything is generic, plastic, over-produced or already heard.
You got a good point, but not all of it only 99.9% there’s a little more out there
Nile are just so, so good...
They define the genre. There is no need for any other.
your hearts in the right place but your brain went on vacation, with this hot take
Jon Vesano had such a POWERFUL presence..
My favourite Nile track! Slow doomy start which perpetually intensifies.
One of the greatest death metal album. Nile is one of my favorite bands. I saw them live in Lublin. Great concert🤘
Ancient Egypt and Death metal a trully made for each other
This song makes tears run down my face.
концовка песни просто убийственна, снижение темпа, аж мураши по кожи!!!!
Imo the best song by Nile. That ending is my favorite part..

A Masterpiece!!
One of the best death metal songs for me
