@@dogone70 that's the year I've been working on. It'll get finished up once the snow flies, too many other bikes to ride and wrench on. Saving the best for last, stator swap done, brakes rebuilt, carbs rebuilt, now to rewire the damn thing..... I absolutely hate wiring!! Thanks for watching!!

super good Kev. Thx,! my GL1200 seems to start very easily and re out in neutral but bogs down under load or normal riding conditions, I'll take the carb off but I suspect some dirty jets would seem most likely? Ill pull main and idle jet out and clean em I suppose. Cam from New Zealand

The diaphragm could be suspect too. The thing you'll want to take note of is exactly where in the throttle position the bog happens. More than 1/4 throttle would be the main jet, less than would be the primary jet. I've recently made a video that explains how these cv type carbs works. I'll drop a link in the comments. But remember I'm better at working on these old beasts than I am at making videos 😆.

Any suggestion for carb. kit source. I bought an '85 Aspencade that stumbles off of idle. 29k miles but it's been sitting 22 years.

@@Kevin_747 Amazon and ebay both have rebuild kits. For the most part you mainly will only need the bowl gaskets and needle seats from the kit. Stumbling off idle can be caused by a vacuum leak and also from the carburetors needing synchronized. Hope this helps!
