      According to this video he only hit IM level in tournament performance, since becoming an IM 2 years ago, only once. While his rating dropped below IM.
      To me, this means that it would take years for him to even get IM again if he wasn't one already.
      That's far off from becoming a GM.
      I think there's a decent probability that he will never ascend to a GM. He has no need to though, being a popular streamer and content creator.

    • @Wltrwllyngaeiou
      @Wltrwllyngaeiou 4 года назад +27

      @SwallowingTheRabbitWhole Just look at his FIDE rating. 2343. To become an IM you need to be above 2400. He was above that for about a year and had some good performances. He totally deserves the IM title, no doubt about it, but he's about 150 points off from being able to even begin to think about GM norms. It is very rare to see someone become a GM after their mid-twenties, and it's certainly not for lack of trying.

    I pray if GM is still a desirable title you keep going. A GM at 20 is still a GM, a GM at 30 is still a GM, and GM at 40 is still a GM... you get the point. Hats off to those 13 yr olds- just insane, but there's plenty of glory to go around!

      Of course judit did it so I think any female can beat her records if they have the perfect environment to develop.
      For me chess has been a men's game because men started it in 1800s and female join much later... So logically I guess this gap will decrease more as time passes.
