I really had no intention to start a thread, but I have to say that I am pleased that some of you liked my video and are treating it as a thread ! Great covers, Brian, and a strong statement with The Boss on your opening, and your last showing with that KLF cool car cover ! Thank you, Brian 😊
I think I told you.. I had footage from the past events, and finally got around to doing cars and records. My favorite still is the trains and record vid that I did a couple of years ago. Especially because.. I'm not in it Haha 🤔
Good to heard! I can't recall the first time I heard Husker Du, but it was likely Zen Arcade. I loved Sugar too! I wish that had continued for a bit longer.
I heartily approve of a Playmate on an album cover. 😄 I don't have any of these records, but I do have the Jim Thompson book. I love his writing, so dark, especially for the time. The movie of The Killer Inside Me with Casey Affleck is worth seeing if you haven't. Cheers Brian!
Morning Brian, great presentation & great idea from JT, might have to jump on this… Had never seen this Bruce album.. Granmaster Flash yesss 👌🏼Have a nice week ✌🏼
Fun picks Brian! I'm glad I watched this video, I never noticed that woman on the Robert Palmer cover, I was always distracted by that voluptuous automobile!
I always love the Robert Palmer album covers. Double Fun is the only one I actually have. Wow, these were really some good records. It is incredible that Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five chose to use your car in their photo shoot. Broken glass everywhere. Cool response Brian!
I can't believe you just pulled that Jim Thompson book out of the blue! Love Jim Thompson. Also, love the Hüsker Dü cover and records. I just picked up Neil Young's This Notes for You, recently. Wow, Jim Thompson. There's more to you than meets the eye!
Ha ha. I have a bunch of Jim Thompson novels on the shelf. I guess there is more to learn about VC members! Maybe more surprises are in store in future 🙄🙂
Hey Rich - That Springsteen collection is pretty solid and the five early unreleased tracks are fun to hear though, obviously, his writing got better over the years.
Nice pick with Zen Arcade. I always liled that cover. Still need to get it on wax someday. A funny Palmer cover. Guy was such a ladies man. The Message is such an Iconic cover. Ah KLF great one too :)
Jt's video was really fun to watch, and now look what's become of it! Limiting myself to viewing yours, Doug's, and Morten's (for now), and I'll get something out there in between work meetings ASAP. Great stuff as always, Brian. Have not thought about Green on Red in ages, and Justified and Ancient is still so cool, ss you say😎🎶
Great video. Love that Husker Du cover. I really like the title song off that Robert Palmer album. And I've read that Jim Thompson book about a half a dozen times, so good. Good picks. Cheers.
I have a few other Jim Thompson books. He seems to have missed out on fame, only achieving a cult status, and I have no idea why. I agree with you about that Palmer track. It's really cool!
That Robert Palmer album cover is great fun, I haven’t seen it before. But typical RP. Bruce….of course. I remember that KLF 12” very well. Nice stock of cars Brian! Mike
First a X-Men video and then an Embrionic Robot video. Good Monday evening for Morten 😊 Heeey, that’s my one Hüsker Du! I could have shown some vinyl after all! Oh well, ha ha. Cool seeing some Canadian ones there! Thanks for mention Brian, cheers from Morten 😊
Hi Brian, I was not aware of the chapter and verse being a companion to his autobiography. Having said that I need to read his autobiography! Great picks on the other 9 as well. I really need to add one or two of green on red to my collection.
Interesting idea. April Wine is the first to come to mind. I have the first three Prism albums but nothing after. I’m interested in that Rheostatics album. It was one I had planned to buy from Amazon in the U.S. but I ended up buying some 54-40 albums instead. I like the Robert Palmer cover. I really couldn’t see it well on my phone, and I was just playing the video while driving, so I couldn’t look hard. But the concept sounded fun.
That's a nice Springsteen release that I don't have unfortunately. I haven't been as vigilant as I was in my younger days. I was listening to that Bob Dylan record recently and realized that I had forgotten how good it was. I do have several Prism records and I was much younger when I was listening to them as well. I am a Green On Red fan and I think that your are the first one I have seen show them besides myself.
Modern Times is one of my all time fav Dylan records, along with 10 or 15 others from him! I am sure I saw one other channel show Green on Red recently, but I can't recall who it was. It certainly isn't seen much at all in the VC.
HP, you should've flipped this and showed covers with bicycles. Zen Arcade is unbelievable. That Robert Palmer cover is juts odd in everyway. Neil, Neil orange peel. I quite like that Bluenotes album. Everyone should dress live Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five. The world would be a better place I think. Killer tune too. The 7"singles are much bigger in Toronto. Wow! Cheers..Ben
You might not believe this, KOS, but as I was looking for albums, I did see a lot of bikes and really did consider it! Very big 7" singles. We do things big up here, but not as big as Texas. Maybe I'll do bikes one day. Too bad I didn't take any notes...
Well, I have also those two last records, but KLF only as 7" single. I should be able to pick 10 records even only have 4 in mind. Hard to remember if there are cars in covers...
@@EmbryonicRobot I did my research yesterday. Now I know how many % of record covers includes cars. And what is the most common car brand in the covers. This thruth is recorded in my video...
Always fun to hear you make remarks like you did with the Robert Palmer record. It makes me feel like you’re a guy. I mean did Brian actually says things like “Wow! Look at that girl, she’s hot!” back when he was in high school? Or did he say “I really respect the fact that this girl seems like an independent thinker.”? Nice response!
