What’s that Mr Ballen video? There are three in the last two weeks. Which one is it?
Check out Samuel L Jackson in his person favorite role. A Christmas hitman movie called The Long Kiss Goodnight.
@@ReallyGoodandKind I believe it's this one: ruclips.net/video/DxjVH0HC1Ws/видео.html
@@ReallyGoodandKind it’s an older video. But shout out to MrBallen. Here’s the link. ruclips.net/video/DxjVH0HC1Ws/видео.html
Season 1 is still the best Fargo season by a mile. I can't believe that James watched the entire first episode of season 2 and didn't seem to realize that Lou and Molly Solverson (the cool dad and daughter duo from the first season) were presented on screen as characters from this season. The events of season 2 are the ones that Lou mentioned in his brief conversation with Malvo during their diner scene together in season 1.
Season 1 was great, one of my favourite seasons of television, but narratively it still felt tied to the film, whereas this season is something that feels unique and new. The music is stunning throughout, unique storytelling and great performances, specifically Zahn McClarnon and Jean Smart, whose performances were a revelation. Enjoy the journey.
Season 1 is much better than the following seasons.
@@strafer8764 absolutely. Not even close, They get worse as they go. Season 2 is good, not great. Season 3 was ok. Season 4 was a bore
You seem to have missed the fact that the main cop character in this season is younger Lou, Molly's father from season 1, meaning his young daughter in this season is Molly, the main cop from season 1.
Get ready for a masterclass in suspense. Top tier storytelling in TV with this season.
One of my favorite seasons of television. Noah Hawley’s style is outstanding
Best season of Fargo. Masterpiece from start to finish.
The track at 7:08 has to be one of my favorite tracks of ALL TIME. Out of movies and TV. I can’t get enough of the power and sharpness it has
This season continues the "Coen Brothers remix" trend:
- A different performance of the end credits song is a central part of a scene from O Brother, Where Art Thou?
- Otto Gerhart looks exactly the same as Jerry's father-in-law in Fargo
- Rye Gerhart's look and general personality evokes Buscemi's character in Fargo
- Seeing a UFO/strange lights in the sky is a reference to The Man Who Wasn't There
- The crime family war evokes Miller's Crossing
The plot line of a victim being left to bleed out in the windshield of a car was used in an early episode of CSI which was likely inspired by the real story. On CSI the plot twist was that it was a suicide attempt and the driver would have been legally fine if he just called it in rather than letting the guy die.
Glad to see you have continued the series. You won't regret it ! Btw, thanks for the vid suggestion!
Always brotha!
i'm so excited for this!! Hanzee is truly one of the best characters, and i love Mike and the twins! and of course Lou, he's brilliant
its great that you are continuing Fargo, so few reactions to this amazing show on youtube
16:25 That's funny, when I watched MrBallen's video about that man being hit and then held in the garage until he died, it instantly reminded me of this particular scene in season 2 of Fargo. I guess great minds think alike 😄😁❤️
Plus, it's so great to hear you're also a fan of MrBallen.
Just wanted to say, James mentioning Mr. Ballen was one of the strangest crossovers I've ever heard
Had me pointing at my TV like Leo in Once upon a time in Hollywood
So glad you're doing this. It's marginally the best season imo.
@@Drax514 agreed. i cant wait to watch it again
Hey James! I absolutely love Fargo and I think Season 2 is just a masterpiece. By the way, I believe the term you're referring to is called "criminal negligence". It's when a person is involved in a situation where someone is hurt or in danger, and that person KNOWINGLY refuses to be a good samaritan and help them. I learned about it in my driver's ed class in high school. Thanks for the reaction, man! Keep it up.
This season of this show and the Mandalorian season 2 are the only times I legit couldn't wait for next weeks episode
Season 2 of Fargo is excellent in all aspects. I love nearly every episode
I can't wait till James realises the main cop is Molly dad the dinner worker or owner from season 1
Patrick Wilson (12:40) is one of my favorites. Anyways, I don't really like the other seasons I've seen but this season of "Fargo" is one of the best seasons of television ever, in my opinion. Firstly this is one of the great ensemble acting performances. I don't know why great ensembles happen more often in TV but they seem to. Even still Kirsten Dunst really knocks it out of the park and stands out. (She & Jesse Plemons are a couple in real life as well.) The vibe of the story is right in my wheel house. And as you've already mentioned the use of existing songs for the soundtrack is Tarantino level awesome. Just great stuff. Can't wait to watch you enjoy it.
finally! been waiting for this 😍 this is the best season of Fargo ❤
Hell yeah! So glad you're watching this! This season starts off so strong bc obviously the situation is gripping, but you also see how they build on the visual style (and the music and editing) to stress the time period, without losing the distinct Fargo feel.
And regarding the news footage shown, I don't actually think politics plays a big role in the season explicitly, but I do think the economic climate plays a big role in each season (with season 1 being the recession and now we're doing Reaganomics, and we'll soon see family business vs. conglomerate). To be honest, I think Fargo is very much about American capitalism on some level (or at the very least, selfishness and greed), going back to the movie, and Marge's speech about "don't you know there's more to life than a little bit of money?".
Well said!! I definitely see the implications expand throughout the episodes!
The only Fargo tv show that I watched was the one with Ewan McGregor and that one was fantastic. One of my favorite actors David Thewlis was in that series as well. I am going to have to go back and watch these earlier series now.
Do it! To most, seasons 1 and 2 are the superiors (not to the discredit of 3), so I'd say you're in for a great time & I'm jealous.
Unbelievable cast this season and watch for season character overlaps
Definitely my favourite season of Fargo!
So glad you are doing season two!
Same!
Karl and Sonny in this season (the conspiracy theorist and the quiet guy that Lou drinks with at the VFW in this episode) remind me a *lot* of Walter and Donny from The Big Lebowski. It's like they are more mature, and polite versions of the same characters; like they are the people the characters from The Big Lebowski *should* be instead of what they are.
Woooooooo! Best season; I cannot WAIT to see what you think of it as it comes together.
Finally, my favorite season has arrived!!! Can't wait for your reaction my bro!
I'm so hyped you have started Season 2 (imo the best one). I haven't watched the reaction yet but I'm wondering if you will notice that Rye is Macaulay Culkin's brother. He's a great actor, he's absolutely fantastic in the show Succession.
This second season is phenomenal.
Rye Gerhardt is played by Kieran Culkin. The brother of Macaulay Culkin, the kid from Home alone.
The music is so good this season! Top notch track selections across the board.
Next season is my favorite though (by just a tad)
Fargo is digital, shot on an ARRI ALEXA Plus at 24 fps. Dana Gonzales is a brilliant DP.
Noah Hawley is amazing, I would suggest Steven Conrad and his show Patriot, it only got two seasons, but it had a similar vibe to Fargo, at least the dark humor, the interesting characters, the way things tie together.
Yes! Stoked for this!
Woohoo! This is my favourite season!
This is the best season imo. You are going to love it.
season 2 is 1milion percent my fav tv ever. i cant wait to see how you and yours react
I feel like you'll love Season Two, it starts off a bit slow in the first few episodes. (compared to the first Season anyways) But once it picks up, oh boy, it is amazing
My favorite season! Let's gooo!
Woo!
Love it James! season 2 is even better than 1 in my opinion! enjoy!
Cheers!
Yaaaaayyyy i love this season!
Awesome reaction James
Appreciate ya!
For some reason, the 2011 film Bernie came to mind as you were talking about the real-life crime that happened similar to the show. Jack Black was great in it and if you haven't seen it, I think you'd enjoy it.
The way reality works, there may be no true "coincidence". Usually, Syncronicity is a personalized experience, but when you're filming yourself for a YT channel and it happens, it becomes a shareable experience.
Kirstin Dunst and Jesse Plemons started dating after filming this. They are now engaged with a son. Pretty cool, they are both great actors.
You will definitely like season four if you like this season! I was not a fan of season three, but I dug season four. Pregame for season five lol
The actor who plays Hanzee (Zahn McClarnon) is great in Reservation Dogs on FX/Hulu.
my favorite season!!!
the fact that you watch mr ballen only makes me love you more james :) (btw its ba-lin not bau-llin phonetically) sending good vibes from ireland and england!
Some of the best tv i can think of.
cannot wait for your reactions to the rest of this season.
Haven't seen season 4 yet, but this is my favorite season.
This show was created by Noah Hawley, who also made the X-men Universe show "Legion"
Which is certainly worth checking out as well.
Man,you are going to really love season 2, OMG
I’m amped!!
Really appreciate you and what you do, great reactions
BTW, the guy with the revolver, short round? He's Maculey Culkin's little brother who played Fuller in Home Alone, the kid who wets the bed from Pepsi.
At first I thought it was Steve Buscemi - he seemed alike to him 😅
The little gangster brother is Home Alone Kevin's brother in both real life and in HA (little boy with glasses).
I can confirm that the video from MrBallen is about a case with the exactly same story of this episode, which is very sad...
I just got hooked on mrballen videos a couple of days ago crazy how you brought up his videos
Hahaha he’s the legend!
Second season of Fargo is hands down the best piece of television I've ever seen.
Season 2 somehow topped Season 1 in my opinion. You’re in for a ride.
My man! 🙏🏽
Ok I'm glad I'm not crazy. I also enjoy going into diners on occasion in a place I don't live or am visiting. Same with random gas stations, parks, and libraries... sometimes you just need a half hour to yourself, living life as a movie character.
This might be my favorite season of television of all time.
Folie à deux is defined as an identical or similar mental disorder affecting two or more individuals, usually the members of a close family. Two case reports of this condition are presented with a brief review of the literature. Prompt recognition of this condition is an essential step in the management.
LEETTTSSSSS GOOOOOOO dude u got me by surprise hoof
You know you're doing something right when you get twice as many likes as the number of views!
Hahaha wild right!?
that conidtion is called folie à deux "madness for two"
Season 2 takes a while to get going but once it does, it gets really good. The first half of the season is really slow and its building the world and the characters. I still love it though
I really don't see how season 2 takes a while to get going. Maybe episode 1 takes a minute to introduce all these characters and what's going on with the mob... but even this pours so much information into your brain in an hour.
How many of those characters died in episode 1 already? Shit one of them got killed twice!
6:45 damn that line is also in Succession S3😂
The UFO is somewhat inspired by Coen Brother flick The Man Who Wasn't There...but it's far more "from" the old Twilight Zone ep The Monsters are Due on Maple Street - arguably the inspiration for this entire season of Fargo.
I cannot wait for you to see season 1 of Legion
They made a movie inspired by the guy in the windshield. It's called Stuck.
I saw that Mr Ballen episode too. 👍
This. This is the best season of the show. Hope you enjoy it
Mike D from Beastie Boys does an un-credited cameo in an episode of this...
Made me double take, like Key and Peele!
Mr Ballen is awesome! Definitely saw the video. Crazy you watched it so close to watching this episode
I think in the real story they left in him a park. Like 3 people were involved
Best season I believe
Man, Fargo knows how to open a season 😂
This is a true story!!!!! It said that..lol why so surprised...
Because tirle suggests all of it is true ehen in truth they got inspired by it to make a whole new plot
YES YES YES!
I can not wait until you meet Mike Milligan! Honestly I have no problem saying my favorite character in any television series.
lets gooooooooo!
YEAHHHHHH
Sweet
The idea where something absurd happens and they both believe in their own idea that isn’t reality is called folie a deux
The first one's the best.
I'd say season 1,2,4 are epic
i like season 3 a lot too, ive not seen the 4th one
18:16 - mass psychosis
Season 1 is definitely the best. Season 2 is still quite good
Check out Samuel L Jackson in his person favorite role. A Christmas hitman movie called The Long Kiss Goodnight.
let’s gooooooo
Woooo!
James have you considered reacting to Succession? It's one of the best show on tv atm and there's no reactors doing it. With the season 3 finale last weekend you should get alot of attention doing a reaction.
@@cfbg cringe take
@@ethidian3444 The Leftovers it's also an amazing choice
@@cfbg your name is literally "promising young woman" aka a shit overrated movie you don’t get to have an opinion
I’ll definitely look into it! Heard great things!
There's a connection you missed??. Waiting for moment you realize....
I think the psychological thing that you’re describing around minute 18:15 is called a Folie a Deux:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folie_%C3%A0_deux
Dude your gonna love this season. Season 3&4 are meh but the writing still makes for the other negatives
Varga makes season 3 really good. A great character. Season 4 just never did it for me. Every episode I was waiting for it to get its act together and it never did.
Fire show but my fav is still Season 1 of Fargo just like True Detective S1
I'm ALL about Peggy.
Yo my comment got mentioned lmao
Please, for the love of God and all that is holy, please do Office Space next!
I prefer Season 1, Malvo is just such a menace. That said, 2 is damn good as is 3, not seen 4.
Imagine she just called the police… oof
