    The Gift of The Magi:
    The story concerns James and Della, a young couple who, despite their poverty, individually resolve to give each other an elegant gift on Christmas Eve. Della sells her beautiful long hair in order to buy a platinum fob chain for Jim’s antique gold watch. Meanwhile, Jim pawns his treasured watch to purchase jeweled tortoiseshell combs for Della’s precious tresses.

      Didn't know this story, but the pure irony of it is quite hilarious. Damn

    There’s always a bit of Coens in all of this. There’s for sure a bit of Anton Chigurg (No Country) in Hanzee!

    It's funny you say that...

    I think I like this season more because, in the first season and the movie, Malvo and Peter Stormare were the embodiment of pure chaos and evil, but this season doesn't really have any character like that. They're all more actual characters.

    • @dacsus
      @dacsus 2 года назад +3

      If you think there aren't people like Malvo or Stormare's character in real world, you're naive. There are even much more evil people.

    • @abemrofchak
      @abemrofchak 2 года назад +3

      @dacsus yes. I know that. But people in the real world tend to be more layered and nuanced than Stormare who is pure rage and Malvo who is just chaos.

    this episode. things really speed up and i love the theme of communication. like Ed and Peggy obviously but also the Gerhardt brothers (the whole family honestly) not talking to each other. people that should be working as a team are splitting up and sabotaging themselves in the process.
    also rip to the one Kitchen brother, i really liked them both :(

    Hey dude! Fellow (ex)film student here haha Just wanted to say in regards to your opening comments.. series/films that break the mold like Fargo are such great inspirations for filmmakers but never underestimate the power of your own life experiences/observations! Having an “original thought” is one of the hardest things as a creative to accomplish these days, if you can master the art of being original then you can master any form of art ✊🏻

    One thing i found interesting and karmic was Regan’s speech about the duty to bring up all men and not impede their livelihood
    while the forest shoot-out happened
    manly cause reagan was full of shit.
    Under Reagan we saw the largest gap of inequality between rich and poor since the great depression which only has gotten wider since
    we saw the aids epidemic where he and his government abandoned the victims to death and suffering because they were homosexuals
    and we also saw the rise of the drug cartel on American soil and the rise of violence unseen before that as all the south American countries Reagan and his CIA destabilized and or coup’d into war zones sent massive amounts of refugees including criminal gangs and drug dealers into the US
    we also had the CIA working with drug cartels in south America like the contras to smuggle drugs into the US to push into the black and ethnic communities to keep them disenfranchised which even the CIA has admitted too doing.

    Great reaction the amount of work you put into a singular reaction is insane the effort is way up there.
    Anyways there is a movie called kingsman the secret service. Don’t know if you have seen it but it’s one of my favourite movies and would love to see a reaction to it.

    Bruce was great as Reagan despite looking much younger than Ron did in 79. Reagan would actually tell stories of WW2 that were really just movies he was in about WW2... a war he never fought in. Also, his wife Nancy Reagan was apparently the bj queen of Hollywood in her "starlet" years.

    Obviously you love this show, and so I would suggest for you to watch another creation of Noah Hawley, "Legion".
    It's a Marvel superhero show, and if Daredevil did not exist I would with no doubt call it the best one. Still torn on that actually.
    It's a directorial masterpiece and so even without reacting to is, as a filmmaker, you should give it a go and marvel at Noah's genius :D

    That nattive american guy that took out those twins sometimes looks like Malvo in the first season. He doesn't speak much, he's silent and deadly, and sometimes he's got that look in his eyes... I even thought that he did a plastic surgery and became that Malvo we all know.

    Hanzee didn't kill the Kitchuns (I mean, one is "fine") to serve the Gerhardts; this is Hanzee changing...he's serving himself/UFO. Snap the rabbit's neck. (Leonard Small accidentally kills a rabbit in Of Mice and Men. Leonard Smalls purposely kills a rabbit in Raising Arizona.) Wheels within wheels.

      @@gevorg1989 Minnesota is the only state that did not vote for Reagan in the electoral college, in both presidential elections. In essence every other state Reagan managed to get 50% of the popular vote at least one time.
