Andy, you're by far the best youtuber for hiking. Real world experience and no stupid stunts. Lots and lots of practical advice. I always enjoy your videos.
Hi Andy. I’m a keen hiker and am born and bred here. Despite this I’m only just getting round to doing it in July. Very excited. Loved your videos on the route.
Well done. Thank you for sharing your adventure. Like to watch videos of WHW from people who had the same dream as I had. Loved the trail, I am amazed since then from Scotland!
I have one of those packs. Superb pieces of kit. The back system is great and the air flow through the back is noticeably good. So good that, for days when it's cold, I'm going to put a piece of foam roll mat through the back to stop the air flow ! In mild and warm weather it's great.
That’s a wrap! Thank you so much Andy for sharing this walk with us - what a great little series and you truly did give us a good picture of what the WHW is like 🙂👍🏻
Hi Andy brilliant stuff mate, you had the best weather, you were certainly blessed. Thank you so much for sharing the trail with us mate, all the best, Dave 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏴
Commented on your first video and I have to say that is the best most enjoyable video series of the WHW I personally have watched. Great weather helps but as you say you meet a great mix of people on this and many other walks. Your pronunciation was enjoyable as well 😜. The highlands get under your skin for some reason & I bet you cannot wait to get back - slàinte
Great vlogs Andy. Really enjoyed watching this little series on the West Highland Way. I walked this about 26 years ago with my uni pals. You have inspired me to walk the Way again with my eldest son next year! Love the gear reviews and practical elements of this as well. You provide some really useful advice especially around weight and cost of items. As we all know you often get what you pay for but sometimes there is decent gear at a more affordable price for people. Whilst we may not do so much wild camping and opt for some of the campsites, it is good to know there is an option for it and some decent spots. Thanks for inspiring me!
I've just finished watching your review on the OEX Phoxx 2 tent, which convinced me to buy it from Amazon. This is a really outstanding channel, some of the information I have been getting over the past couple of weeks has been invaluable as I'm obviously a newbie camper.
Hi Andy. I haven't watched any of the West Highland Way videos yet as I've been saving them for my evening entertainment while I'm away myself this weekend. Really looking forward to every one of them, and thank you in advance for sharing your adventure.
Been there in 2013. Its beautiful scenery. Did Stob Ban crossing last day as an extra. For the ones that have the power. Wonderfull views up there. Andy, thank you for the series. Amazing
Well done mate 👏, excellent video and more importantly you give great motivation to everyone watching and well done, are you sure you were in Scotland? I've never experienced Scotland with such great weather, you must be the luckiest person on the planet to get a full week of sun in Scotland this time of year 👍
ah! the end of a very nice journey, watching you has been a pleasure, a delightful journey indeed. No pitching the tent each night, no detailed explanations of what you are eating etc. On some other websites it is all they do, go out for the night, and cook, and repeat it in another location video, and again, who cares. That is not why you hike/trek the great outdoors, it is to drink-in the majesty of your surroundings, nature itself in all its glory.
Brilliant Andy, what a great adventure & achievement...!👊 Stunning views...🙏 I was in woods with dog on Saturday/Sunday...🏕️ Had a nice sunrise 🌄 but not quite those views...!⛰️ I also added another tent to my collection today🤣 Was a 60quid bargain...!😄 Best wishes...👍
Andy, thanks for this. I have watched a few of your vids and this series on the WHW is the best, so far. We were in Glencoe at the end of your week and the weather was fantastic - you were so lucky!
Well done Andy 👏👍 Spoke to you at the start. I finished on the Saturday and managed Ben Nevis on the Sunday. As you say we really did drop on with the weather 😀👍
Great series Andy, really enjoyed it. You are one lucky chap with regards to the weather, the scenery looked epic and serene. Inspirational stuff mate!
Really enjoyable series and packed with useful tips and ideas. You should get a gold medal or something for blitzing the whole route in 5 days, that's no mean feat! Look forward to the next adventure
A brilliant series, thanks for sharing! As you said, unbelievably lucky with the weather, it looked great all week for you - 5 days of sun vs 5 days of rain and wind clearly a completely different experience, especially wild camping 😅 Has encouraged me to consider booking a trip now I get closer to retirement - but maybe not in 5 days and maybe not wild camping, at least not every night !! Time to start planning me thinks. Well done on your axhievement 🎉🎉
I just got back from completing the WHW on Monday morning followed by a walk up Ben Nevis on Tuesday, I too lucked out with the weather and had an amazing experience taking time to enjoy a perfect little spot in the hills above Kinlochleven albeit still only 1ish in the afternoon on Sunday, sometimes as you say Andy, you just have to take that bit of time out from the ego rush of trying to finish asap and just enjoy the moments. Brilliant summary review Andy. My tip is not to take a hydration bladder for the WHW, plenty of water sources for a 0.6ltr bottle along the way...I emptied mine after day 1 only used it for big Nevis at the end. Subscribed.
Top stuff Andy. Memories for life. It's a great hike and one I always enjoyed. Hoid to hear someone else's opinions on a trail you've done. I'm off on the East Highland Trail tomorrow morning. Hope I get your weather. You should stick it on your bucket list. Feet up. 👍
Well done Andy. Loved the scenery and narration from start to finish. Absolutely stunning weather. No better place on earth when it's like that. With a bit of Good Bloke Outdoors Liam in the mix too, what could be better?
Great set of videos and thanks for sharing your trip. I really can't understand some of the people that i follow who have recently smashed this journey out in a couple of days, surely the point IS to enjoy it and experience it, not get it over and done with as quick as possible. I'm doing the Snowdonia Way next month, same kind of milage and I'm planning on taking 7 days so i can really take a look around. Take care 🥾⛺️🎒
Ahhhhh I loved watching all these.. waited till all uploaded before commenting. Amazing scenery ...and seriously are you always this chirpy 😅. Going to check out other video bits now 😊. And yes it's now on my bucket list to visit !!
I'd just like to congratulate you on an absolutely cracking series. Love how you did a video per day with great shots of the scenery along the walk with your fantastic commentary. Also appreciate all the tips, advice and gear reviews, smashing job 👍 So happy for you that you were so blessed with the weather, what were the odds for such good weather for the whole trip? 😳 Thanks Andy 😊
Nice one Andy. I agree, I wish I’d taken longer to absorb the WHW. I ploughed through in 5 days too. Last day was from kings house hotel to fort William. I had no option as I’d twisted my ankle and damaged the porneal tendon and a huge storm was due within 24hrs. I also have the same pack. It’s my favourite pack. It may be 2.2kg but the way it carries feels like it offsets the load. Well done Andy. You’ve deserved your bath.
Great selection of WHW CONTENT Andy , My favourite was the last one because you looked like a squashes sweet with your sunburn 😂😂😂 Looking forward to your gear review
Great series mate, good effort. Just a point on nit spending silly money on gear, .backpacks .....forclaz 70l mt100 £90. Great bit of kit for the price
I love how excited you are about the beauty that you’re hiking and camping in. And I love the spots you’ve chosen to wild-camp. What time of the year? April? Thanks!
Hi Andy, Great set of videos and I was due to the WHW this April but wasn’t able to go through with it. If you do,do a gear list, is there any chance you could do a break down of how you got there and how you get back as well once you reach fort William as in Transport etc? Thanks.
Have you tried the South Downs Way. Winchester to Eastbound. It’s about the same length. Beautiful but not with the glorious mountains views Scotland has.
Great video series Andy, can I just ask why you went with the Aether and not the Atmos LT, as I am looking to decide between the two for ab5 day hike. Really appreciate your help mate
Amazing 😊😊😊 Andy I’d like to use your coupon code to purchase the Helm1. Would you recommend buying the pegs they offer on the website or the ones that comes with the tent would be ok? Many thanks 😁

Great videos. I’ve done it twice and will be doing it again next month. Really enjoyed your journals of the hike 🏴

Well Done Andy, Me and my lad walked it a couple of years ago. Used campsites and pubs for evening meals. Great memories, get out there folks!

For people not quite so fit the Sherpa Van services are reasonably priced for carrying your pack!
Everyone deserves to have a vacation with good weather luck once in a while. It's such an amazing experience.
Great job, you were blessed with the weather. I enjoyed watching the videos with great inspiration brilliant achievement.🎉🎉

Great series showing the beauty of Scotland. Cannot believe the fantastic weather you had for the week. Many thanks for sharing the WHW❤.

What a great series of videos Andy.👍🏼well done and thanks for taking us along.
Hoping to walk it in September, if I have half the sunny weather you had I'll be well pleased. Thanks Andy for taking us along with you.
Spot on Andy, so Jammy...No midgies and ace weather !

Nice series Andy, thank you. My brother in law is walking it atm, looks amazing, wish I had joined him!
Nicely done mate, enjoyed all the episodes, thankyou
Just looking at your kit list , pouches on your shoulder straps , what make do you use cus they looked quite handy to have .
Thank you for sharing your West Highland way trip. It was very enjoyable
Andy weatherspoons was behind ya!
Nice one climbed nevis about 45 years ago looks like time to get some camping gear! Cheers Andy.
I've really enjoyed these videos thanks for sharing
Brilliant videos new to your channel loving these videos
Great selection of WHW CONTENT Andy ,
My favourite was the last one because you looked like a squashes sweet with your sunburn 😂😂😂
Looking forward to your gear review

@@BackpackingUK or a flump 😂
Great series mate, good effort.
Just a point on nit spending silly money on gear, .backpacks .....forclaz 70l mt100 £90. Great bit of kit for the price
If you have the time, doing it over 9 or 10 days spaces it out and gives you time to look around etc.
I love how excited you are about the beauty that you’re hiking and camping in.
And I love the spots you’ve chosen to wild-camp.
What time of the year? April? Thanks!
This was end of March into April.
Hi Andy,
Great set of videos and I was due to the WHW this April but wasn’t able to go through with it.
If you do,do a gear list, is there any chance you could do a break down of how you got there and how you get back as well once you reach fort William as in Transport etc?
Thanks.
Yes, I’ll do both 👍
Have you tried the South Downs Way. Winchester to Eastbound. It’s about the same length. Beautiful but not with the glorious mountains views Scotland has.
So, essentially, the WHW is just a long pub crawl?
Yeah, I described it that way to a mate yesterday.
Basically you have a pub at the end of everyday or close by.
Not quite 😂 But it’s good to treat yourself from time to time 😁 🍻
I would like to see a review of the Exped Venus 3 tent. Thank you
I tried the Venus 2 UL and it’s huge! Very different but very clever tent.
@@BackpackingUK thank you very much
Great video series Andy, can I just ask why you went with the Aether and not the Atmos LT, as I am looking to decide between the two for ab5 day hike. Really appreciate your help mate
My Aether is the old model so is a medium whereas the new packs are S/M or L/XL and the fit isn’t quite as good as I’m slightly in between sizes.
Amazing 😊😊😊
Andy I’d like to use your coupon code to purchase the Helm1.
Would you recommend buying the pegs they offer on the website or the ones that comes with the tent would be ok?
Many thanks 😁
The pegs are great, no need to upgrade them. Use ‘backpackinguk’ for 20% off 👍
@@BackpackingUK thanks for the reply 😊 have a lovely day
How did you get home from Fort William ? Everyone says how to get start but not the finish
Train 👍
Sir, while we are walking this Highland Way. Do we have to stay in hiking tent or there are B&B and hotels available, uptown Fort William, please?
There are hotels in route but they get booked up in advance.
@@BackpackingUK Thanks a lot. Really appreciated, looking forward for your next hiking videos 🙏
@Backpacking UK what t-shirt is that?
Thrudark 👍
@@BackpackingUK thanks, the trip looked fun, might have convinced me to do it 🫡
