I just ordered those ESC's. I saw a guy throw a 1.3 lipo battery in his tank and it over powered his receiver so he had no speed control. I am not adding a fan as I do not see why it needs a fan. If I need to, I can see no reason to add a fan. I will have to order the doides. Generally you can just get one diode to take your voltage down. I will use the diode scale that shows you what diodes you need to knock your voltage down. I prefer regular shrink tube to sticky silicone tape. I will use a tactic receiver with a Tactic Transmitter. Thank you for your effort. You saved me the effort. That ESC should be programmable to remove the brake. I think I mentioned that. All ESC's are programmable.
Hi the ESC's 1060 clones I listed are only programable by moving the little jumpers on them, you need to set the ESC for steering to forward reverse, and the other ESC for the big 390 drive motor to forward reverse brake so it will work property it won't run right when you set this esc to F/R only mode it makes drag brakes come on for crawlers and is not good for the tank. Thanks

Yeah It seemed faster to me I will have to GPS it again but 2mph faster over stock is hard to gain it's geared so low the motor has to have a lot more RPM you can hear it sounds like a blender it's winding out so much. Thanks Larry for watching.

looks fun, but next week it'll probably be fit with a 2840 5000kv brushless and back to running it on 2S (37,000 rpm!), because that Tim Allen "MORE POWER!" infection has set its hooks in. new rollers on the rear bumper because it's doing wheelies for 12-15 feet. fishing line on the tracks trying to keep the thing from throwing them when its doing back flips at a skate park. (kidding?)
you can get a "buck down converter" for 2-3 dollars or less in eBay to regulate 7v 1.5A into one of those small 20A ESC driving the steering motor. when its set it'll keep output about same if you run 2S or 3S, might be pretty convenient freeing up the other larger ESC to set up the other tank the same way. may also be able to turn the braking off on that 1060 if it has a card socket. this operation is a definite success with 40% more speed, NOW its running as fast as the box/specs claimed "12 km/h".
😁No brushless for me it's good enough. the esc's I would rather use these clone 1060's they are like $14.00ea shipped but they make the tank run smooth the turning and stuff they have better proportion than those little ones they are much better. you only need to lower the voltage to the steering esc if your radio don't have the steering D/R withe the D/R you turn it down and less voltage goes to the turning esc and it works like a beauty 👍 Thanks for watching MN.
@@ShenRC I really do like little 390 brushed motors, they pack some pretty good punch for their size+weight, and can be found for 6-7 bucks.

Hey just a heads up on those diodes, it's not an i, it's a 1 in the part number. (one)N4xxx series diodes. I've watched several videos of yours in a row and you keep saying i(eye)N4002. 😁 Thanks for the vids on this tank, I just ordered a couple for me and the kiddo. That kit price is great!

Great mod! If only there was someway to mod the tracks for more traction it would really climb some hills n go great in the snow.
Hi thanks, there is a easy way to mod the track, you can use rubber pads for RC tanks or make your own and you can CA glue them on every other track pad and they will have raised tread to grab dirt and snow better.. It's pretty easy to do I just did not bother doing it. Thanks for watching

You can program the ESC to have no brake. Read the manual.

This thing works in the end but it's confusing how it was gone about. How will using a radio with dual rate change anything? D/R only changes throw and not voltage which is apparently the concern here. If slowing down that little motor was the end goal, then you could also accomplish that with EPA. Also, why use diodes and not resistor's? Diodes do provide a level of resistance but that's not it's intended purpose. You could have easily also used a tiny and cheap buck converter to drop the voltage to that small motor, I doubt it's pulling even 1amp so most cheap $1 converters would work.
Hi I show it this way because most likely you will be using a lower end radio with out EPA adjustments so the diode's work fine. and as for using EPA to control the speed I use the D/R because you can turn it up or down on the fly when driving and it's much better. and I use diodes because they run cool.
@@ShenRC Okay, I get it. I may not agree with everything but I get it. As far as using the D/R on a radio, that will limit output but it won't limit the full 3S voltage going to the small motor which was a concern in the video. Anyways, end the end what was done works and I guess it's all that matters.
Do you know how to reverse the steering. I want mine to go left when I turn left and right when I turn right.

@@ShenRC yeah mine goes left when I turn right and vice versa. Right out of the box. Am I the only one or are they all like that?
@@TheBrownNinja408 If you stand behind the tank with the front of it facing away from you and go straight and turn the wheel on the radio to the right it should go to the right. if it goes to the left you need to reverse the wires on the small top motor in the gearbox to make it turn correctly.

Hi you need to take it apart a connector may be off or the wires to the small turn motor.
@@ShenRC the connector is inside the body of the rc correct?
@@crashandcynder Yes you need to unscrew all the screws and look inside and also look at the wires going to the small motor... was it working and then broke and stopped working or was it like that out of the box? you may have stripped the steering motors gears.
