Fantastic, clear instructional on how to wire it up; top job Steve!👍😊
I can’t believe how smooth it turns now!
Yea I tried my best to put all the info into one good video. Thanks bud 👍
Fantastic breakdown Steve! 💯
Appreciate it! Thanks
Nice tank with hobby grade remote even better
Yes very good and running smooth now. 👍Thanks
Excellent explanations, simple and effective, good job !!
Many thanks!
@@ShenRC 😊👍
Cool, thanks for the info. Snagged the weights as I've been meaning to get some for a couple other projects anyhow, multi-win. And grabbing that soft start ESC to try out. So cheap it can't hurt to give it a go.
Cool! the soft start esc seems to be working great in mine and I used the red one for the steering best combo if using the cheap small esc's.
awesome upgrade dude....weights helped a lot!
Definitely! 👍Thanks for watching.
Nice Tank👍
😁👍 Thank you
That's a super vide my friend thank you for sharing👊😜
Glad you enjoyed it👍👍
Fantastic how to and Test Run bro. Your loving that Ripsaw and so are we 👍😍😎👍
Yes I am! Thanks! 👍
Very nice brother. Very good information. Thanks for sharing! :)
My pleasure
Shen RC is genius.
👍 Thanks JD!
Awesome info Steve very useful 👍💯
I see you weighted the front told ya it really helps 💯👍
Glad you enjoyed it👍
yea, I put like 3oz in the front.
I bought the clone 1060 esc's they work great even in my kyosho blizzard with 540 motors
Yes and they also work great in crawlers. Thanks for watching.
Your approach to rc is same as mine, what can we do improve
Cool mod and information
Thanks bud.
That explains why my RC boat mod only works at 50% speed forward. I need to reverse things . I knew it had to be something like that. I had to turn the rates down on my Kyosho blizzard because it had too much power in the turns. Thats hard on the track and gears.
👍Yep that's probably it. I turn the steering duel rate knob up or down to control how fast it turns it's great and its on the fly because radios usually have it near your hand when driving.
The on- off switch need to be on the vertical piece behind the driver's seat. Put a REAL screw into the battery compartment cover, not that tiny thing is comes with! Nice job of getting it stuffed into a very tight space.
Thanks, I just plug in the battery and leave the power switches on. I filled my front switch location up with epoxy putty and made it smooth it works great.
I love this video. keep it up
Thanks, will do! These work awesome especially with those cheap clone 1060 esc's I linked super smooth drivability!
nice info! not sure but maybe.. pop a couple BIG (high wattage) power diodes on the little steering ESC (they usually drop 0.7v each), then 2S or 3S may not matter. on 2S it'd see 6v instead of 7.4v, on 3S it'd see 9.7v (might be too high?). there are also "regulated buck down converters" that output what you set it at, regardless the input voltage (within reason). the little 130 motor handling the steering might pull 1 or 2 amps at most, buck down converters for that small amperage are only 1-2 dollars in eBay. I'd definitely TEST a buck down converter by feeding it 7-9-12v and checking that it puts out 6v from those different input voltages. if so, pop a converter in between battery and steering ESC, to protect it and the steering motor both.
Hi MN, if you are going to do that to the small esc to make it handle 3s may as well just buy the clone 1060 esc's I found they are cheap and the best choice for this model.👍👍
@@ShenRC my thought on that isn't about the ESC really, its the little 130 motor that is running the steering. the red ESC's are about 4 bucks each in eBay, with the converter in front of it might be 6 dollars total for steering power management. I get it that EPA is going to limit what the ESC will output to the steering motor, if you don't have the correct model selected at the transmitter the little 130 might be seeing 11v until you do find the right model selection (maybe ouch?). with the converter and cheaper ESC, the steering motor wouldn't ever see the higher voltage that could burn it, so the arrangement comes up being more "goof proof" when done. 130 motors are really inexpensive, but they're also pretty wimpy about higher voltage and current throughput.
@@modelnutty6503 That's why I show they are good for 2s only I would not mess with it then low voltage cut off would get all messed up also. spend the extra 6 bucks for the clone 1080 for 3s they are awesome esc's. 👍
@@ShenRC true LVC could kick in with input voltage too low.
There is one difference between the red esc's I have vs the one you used, mine are 30amp... I think I may use a larger one for the throttle though.... I have several I can use....
👍That's the way to go, I did that with my orange one.
Do you own stock in these or something? LOL! Awesome work and beauty tanks eh!
😁 He he he These are fun I like them a lot.... as you can tell. Thanks for watching.
any thoughts on simple weights that can be used in the front of the model ? need to control her tip over tendency
Hi in one of my videos about upgrades and mods I show what to use but I don't remember what video it was.
Nice work bro..is it water proof?...RUNS SICK.🤭😎
Hi yes I used one waterproof esc and I sprayed the other one and the RX with corrosionX spray. THANK YOU
@@ShenRC that's more funnn... can't wait to see more
Have you tried any dual way ESCs? Single esc that controls two motors?
Hi I have not, It probably could be done but you need one that can handle a 390 size motor and I think it would cost you a lot more than buying two of the cheaper RC car esc's. I don't think it would be as proportional and smooth as them also. Thanks for watching.👍
Will these things go in the snow?
Probably but not super deep snow. Thank you brother!
Why use the brake? You said it was causing issues with the nose. Unless you really need the brake, dont set the brake.
Hi you need to set the one esc that drives the big motor to forward reverse brake to work properly with these esc's because if you use F/R setting drag brake comes on and abruptly makes the tank come to a fast halt because it's crawler mode. These esc's don't work F/R you can't disable the drag brake with them. Thanks for watching.
What about a bidirectional esc?
Like a robot esc? That may work.
@@ShenRC ya! Esc with dual motor capability Amazon sells for around $15.
I don’t know if you know or not but the vanilla esc and controller works just like that with turning and throttle if you have a thing they call “control”. 🤦🏽♂️. U can literally turn and take off slowly if u press lightly on the trigger or turn the wheel gently. All that hoopla fot got dang nothing 🤦🏽♂️. Only useful thing is the weights.
Your kidding right? the real RC radio and esc's drive worlds smoother and better than a stock one.
@Shen RC Hey I'm having some problems getting this setup done, anyway i can message you somehow for some advice?
Hi what problems you having? this clearly shows how you hook the ESC's up ... I am on Facebook maybe you can message me? Thanks
@@ShenRC right but i am having problems having them both paired at the same time. I get forward and reverse but no steering :( Hope do i pair at the same time?
@@ShenRC I am using 2 real 1060's and its looking amazing but I need help lol
@@TestTubeBuddies I will try and help you here if I can. You solder both the esc's battery cables together +to + and the - to the other esc's - and add your battery connector. next use one esc for the smaller motor for the steering channel 1 this should go in your RX, and set this esc to Forward/reverse mode, solder the wires up to the small motor. the other esc set to forward / reverse /brake and solder this up to the big 390 motor.leave all esc power switches on and the RC will power up when you plug in the battery. Then test forward and reverse speed if the tank goes faster in reverse you need to switch the radio esc rev setting and also switch the motor wires backwards ... if your esc has only 50% power for reverse if it's on backwards then forward you can only be getting 50% speed. hope this helps
@@ShenRC I did all that and made sure it was faster in forward then reverse, but what I'm asking is how did you PAIR the 2 esc's to the 1 receiver?
Simple as possible haha
anyone can do it. 👍
