The tracks are spring tensioned at the front wheels. You shouldn't have to remove a wheel or open the metal tracks to get them on. If you open the gearbox, you'll see that the tank is driven by one motor. It drives both wheels together with a differential type mechanism. There's a second motor that steers the tank by rotating the differentials in opposite directions.
I bought one of these for my wife and one for myself. They really are a lot of fun. If I want something to seriously rip it up I also have an awd nitro buggy.
Good review you show many details, I remember seen another review of the metal tracks that caused the plastic gears wear to fast so you need the metal gears for those
I love the look of it...i wonder how the 🎥 would look if you attach a go pro? Could u make a video of what it would look like thtew the eyez of the camera
I'm definitely interested in this rc but it would be nice if they made a larger version of it one that truly could hold a couple of 6 inch figures. Also i wonder if you could get a better battery pack for it with way more capacity?
Battery you could make your own 2s 18650 pack with double the capacity using good cells. otherwise the battery bay has quite good space for larger lipo battery also.
I found a fix for the lean back on tack off. remove rear track roller, access the spring in shock keep spring in keeper, place fuel line tubing over the spring and reassemble, no more back flips. Also cut out battery box and remove interior will give more room for bigger battery.
Is the gears metal or nylon? If it is nylon, then it will not be a good idea to use metal tracks...also since the vehicle is probably designed for speed, the stock gearbox wont have sufficient torque to manage the metal track. I suggest you should stick to original rubber tracks that comes with it.

did the metal tracks come with it?
No
The metal tracks are known to strip the gears. Be careful. Fun lil RC though👍
Omg! Good to know! I prefer the rubber track anyway 👍
@@EdwardChew same
@@EdwardChew Yes it is best to use the rubber tracks being as the real rip saw has rubber tracks.
Definitely one to pick up for the collection ☺️

When you put metal tracks we can see this is more stable.

My wife and I were racing around the apartment today. God these things are so fun. How are you liking yours so far? is it still running well?

Just take off the top and add a small amount of counter weight to the open area in the front of the vehicle.
You should make a wpl version
Done deal🤜🤛
@@EdwardChew The us and the German halftrack will be nice
Make an affordable WPL version of the Pig Studio 1:10 Ripsaw, also, please 😝

Not sure gear material. I could ask factory. Yea i prefer rubber track actually. Can just punch the throttle
The drive gears are metal, but the rest is nylon.
