The other thing is not to compare yourself to others or let the success of others demoralize you. Just remember, we're all in this together to succeed with what we produce.
I compare myself so much with others that I almost quit making music because I listened to the song of a random guy on soundcloud and thought I would never be able to make something as good as he did lmao
I don’t think it’s creating music that’s the problem. I can still get into that flow state once the distractions are put away to create. I feel like it’s releasing music that gives me the “it’s a chore” feeling.
@@Torusi I’m ngl even the cover art and finding the right mix I can still do to an extent but getting a date ready? Then content and pitching to playlists is mind numbing to me
I love making music, even if I don't get anything out of it, but in my opinion I think that if you don't enjoy doing it, then its not for you. I have never had burn out from making music, I love doing it and I don't think I'm stopping anytime soon
thankyou, love this video! discipline really is key- the part that gets me is when you've worked so hard on something, like doing vocals then you listen back the next day and realise all you can hear is the fan/aircon in the background or something like that hahaha. Takes a loot of patience 🤍✌🏼
Thank you so much!! I appreciate the comment. Motivation and getting thru the music grind is very hard if you can’t find a peace of mind. Glad you liked it!
Exactlyyy, I know it could be considered “weird” but the thing is people need to look at it from an angle that your personal life has so much more to do with your music experience.
Discipline + remember to have fun in how u approach things, if you have sensibilities in ur approach to music that ain’t shared by others don’t second guess it hone in on it and do it it makes making music so much more fun
My mental is shitty right now, to the point that even making music doesn't help me with it. Actually my mental ruins my music, I hope things will get better in future. Thanks for vid
They always do. I get in the same moods hence the video. As for today I can’t bring myself to record cause I feel shit. But there’s always something that comes up and we record our best song, ykwim?
Ima just save this video so I can just remind myself to actually do something abt it. Bee going through this for weeks and had a session that went nowhere. Hoping I can finally get something done soon🙏🏻
Tried making beats for many years, after sounds start layering I became overwhelmed and stressed because I'm hearing to much at once, unable to notice what may be sounding off or even understanding how to fix it, I don't play any instruments and using plugins can often sound very basic/Generic, kind of like when I can typically tell if someone used fruity loops to make a beat. I rap and sing, this I've been able to grasp a lot of. although I am just now returning to it after 4 years and my singing vocals now that I'm 35 are not what they use to be so I'm attempting to adjust and adapt, while yet again attempting to learn how to mix and edit which I have been trying to grasp for 19 years, get a song to sound good on a cell phone great! oh no wait it sounds awful on a car stereo, adjust and now it sounds awful on a cell phone. it's definitely very difficult to do alone, but from 16 years old to 35 minus the 4 year struggle, I still just keep on trying since making music is the only therapy that's ever helped me cope, It's always been the beats issue that has held me back from sharing it on popular platforms
I started making music two years ago, and I felt so good, it was so easy for me and I kept doing it, but I’ve been 6 months without finishing a single project, I get bored too easy and feel down constantly, I feel like I really wanna break the bad streak and put music out, I got lots of shit I haven’t dropped or even finished just because I don’t fucking want to for some reason
I know this feeling allllll too well. A lot of people say go outside and do yadayadayada but Ima tell you this. Don't even think about music, go do something else. Don't touch your DAW, don't touch anything related to music unless you're listening to it. Listen to new things. Get into different shi. once you do this, it'll take about a week to get your drive back. I have recently got a new job and it's taking a lot of those hours I put into music and content creation and it just wants me to make more music and content creation. I get a taste of "real life" like a 9-5 and it drives me to do more cause I do NOT want to live a 9-5 life. Not only this but I love making music, it's therapeutic to me. Find your reasoning behind your music but don't over think it. P.S. Surround yourself with people that want to grind. I have a Group chat that has a lot of different friends that want it as bad as I do and they working on music all day. It's the little things that push you. Good luck brother
@@Torusi appreciate a lot your response and your advice, I’m certainly doing a lot of different things to keep grinding and building a strong foundation for my future, I’m in love with music and wanna make more and more, I am learning to not depend on motivation or other people, I’m really looking to do this till I die.

Finding the right mix, the cover art, and just releasing and finding a date… it’s annoying😭

Having nothing left to worry about is an interesting point. There are many things in our lives that we allow ourselves to be bogged down with.

Music is subjective, people are gonna hate it or love it either way. Yeah, your songs are cool
yea true, thanks
