I really think Gengey can become a cult hero in English rugby. What a fantastic example of rugby being used to elevate a young man's life, and the untapped potential outside the typical private school system. He's made mistakes growing up, but his development has been clear to see at Leicester. Comes across as refreshingly genuine in interviews. Very open about his Dyspraxia, and runs his own coaching clinics for kids.
I don't think it's any coincidence that the likes of Ellis Genge, Kyle Sinckler and Joe Marler are some of the biggest personalities in the England side and that none of them went to public school
@@Oscar-og8hw "Public school may refer to: State school a no-fee school, funded and operated by the government". What type of schools did they go to then?
Harry Nye in England, public school means fee-paying school (originally it referred to schools set up in the public interest, as opposed to schools set up purely to make profit for the owner)
He’s obviously a unit and that brings with it, a certain level of baggage so it’s not surprising that he had a few fights. His parents must have done a good job because he comes across as humble and a great guy. I love it when he mixes things up.
So we have one, now, I want to know when we are going to get more lads like Genge, from the streets, tough and confident. If England want to beat teams like SA he is exactly what we need
There's no mystery to beating SA, they're nothing special IMO. England have beaten them plenty of times. If SA had had the knockout stage matches England had at Japan 2020 they'd have never gotten to the final. England were sh*t in the final - it was just one of those games. SA were well worth their win on that occasion.
@@crocusinmaymay2835 But there's no secret we are missing a lot of talent in England rugby simply because of the name of the school these private school kids go to many of whom are not as talented as the public school kids who don't get picked because their daddy doesn't know this man or they didn't go to this school.
Great video! And a great game! Pumas get especially fierce against black jerseys! I enjoyed very much the friendly chat with Julian Montoya. Rugby is definately a gentlemens game! Good luck to the Rose from Buenos Aires!
Looks in a happy place now, looking forward to him getting stuck into the Welsh at Twickers.✔ Shame he couldn't be tempted to come back and play for Bristol. Well done mate🍻
The sport ,Yep rugby has all ways been about the game and no one man is bigger than it or in how you behave, rules get broken yes and so what that is why they are made, Ellis is a credit to the game in showing that he has adapted to those rules successfully and excelled in his play representing England, we are proud to have him and watch him.
Gotta give Eddie Jones some credit here! It's clear to me that Eddie knows his players well, and has enabled players like Genge and Sinckler to be themselves and not be something they are not. Imagine if Lancaster was still coach I doubt he would give these lads a chance!
Yeah, I they're definitely too firey for Lancaster. Not to take away from what he did, but neither would have seen as much game time as they do under Jones.
Kevin Francis and your point is? You’ve just suggested a load of players who clearly weren’t good enough to be selected. Admitage maybe but he was playing in France.
Steve, hello, just to let you know that I'm here, available, and keenly willing to play for you. A big wing as a youngster, then a back row, so I'm very flexible and don't mind where you play me. Lot's of managerial experience, able to delegte, and have a soft way with referees. OK, I may now be 76, but I'm quite prepared to lie about my age and knock a few years off if it would help. Good luck to you, but somehow - I don't think that you will need it. Genge for skipper, how can the others not follow an inspiration like that?
He thinks he bad because he round posh sport like union if he come to rugby league he find the real bad boys and mad heads not posh boys with no fight in them

Totally agree
Couldn’t have put it any better myself
just checking di Ellis Genge say he was half-black.
Seeing Gengey come out of his shell within the england squad over the years has been amazing 🏴
This bloke shows what hard work, dedication and Rugby can do for anyone.
He's literally so cute- he's come so far and you can tell he's still in awe of where he is
Love blokes like Ellis who have come through tough times and made good!

They all went to public school. You mean private*?
@@HarryNye No. Public schools, or state schools, are privately paid for
@@Oscar-og8hw "Public school may refer to: State school a no-fee school, funded and operated by the government". What type of schools did they go to then?

It takes courage to be that open about your personal challenges and what you've come through. Love you big fella!
What a wonderful young man ...i wish him the very best of luck and so much more...he is about to become one of the worlds best props

Luv GENGEY 🦏
He’s been outstanding this 6 nations.
Brilliant interview. Ellis is such a role model. I have loved watching him grow and develop as a player. Hope he stays fit and injury free.
When Jack Willis wins a turnover for England, watch the players as they come over to congratulate him. Gengey’s reaction is always brilliant.
Aside from anything else, Ellis comes across as a really genuine and nice person. Good luck to him
Love this man. Says it how it is. Shuts the sausages up! 🏴👊🏻
" Didn't get my next cap for 342 days, who's counting though "
That's what we fucking want in a player

He has the chance to be around England and the Lions for some time to come. Well done Ellis.

This is total rubbish, he would obviously pick them because Mako aside they are clearly the best props in the country 🤷🏻♂️

Sizzling chat
Hi I love u Ellis genge
Edit: why does he barely ever start for England he’s the best. By the way I support Leicester Tigers 🐯
He's got a great career in comedy waiting if the Rugby doesn't pan out.

Imagine Genge, Cockerill and White in the front row together? Bloody hell!
