    From an Americans point of view, he runs like a pro football player by the name of Larry Csonka. He was often confused as a offensive lineman due to his size, they both run almost towards opposing players rather then around them.
    This comparison is written in the highest compliment. I truly enjoy his play, hope he has a long career.

    Glad you showed the long pass from Genge. He was a fly half growing up and it shows in his long and short passing, always accurate and sympathetic to the receiver.
    Putting Hooper on his arse is always entertaining. Doing it to Karevi is different level. 🦏

      As an English fan, I’ve always admired Hooper due to his insane tackle technique and being such a ‘smaller’ guy. Pretty impressive to see him sat down considering his tackling ability.

    What I love most about Genge is his hands. That Sinkler Genge combo is a sight to see- two props who can carry hard, step, and also give a no look pass. We have really missed that combination, and Genge George and Sinkler work so well together in the middle.

      Good step and a good low fend. He's hard to stop. Go low and he'll push you down or step you. Better to go high in some instances and at least you'll break his stride by forcing him to put the bump off on you. Best way to defend him is to get to him early and take his power away from him. Have seen him have many anonymous performances for England when this has happened (and was v poor form between 2019 and 2021 lions tour, hence he didn't get picked).

      They just have similar powful forwards like Porter Sheehan Ryan and Furlong who running hard and straight at won't bring the same results as whoever plays for Bath or Northampton

      Furlong, ox nche, furlong, baile, Porter all have a more rounded game then him. Best carrier but the others have a better all court game

      @@hc8299 better all rounded game? I’d say Genge has a better all round game than all of those player you’ve listed. Only Niche has a better scrummaging prowess

      @@battlevgaming9887 Better in the loose maybe. Genge is still wobbly in the tight and gets done by fairly standard opponents on a regular basis at test level. Porter and Furlong are well ahead in terms of the basics, but Genge in the loose is unmatched.

    I'd say he's the second best ball carrier in the world behind Ardie Savea. Happy for people to argue with this though

      A few second rows like Etzebeth would be above both for carrying in to contact, but in terms of breaking, he's right up there.

      Yeah that's good comparison. Gengehas played at 8 and EJ is al about hybrid players. I can see him doing a lot of No8 work whilst Dombrant slips in beside Smith round the centre when in attack

      In recent form I agree. Ardie was virtually unstoppable against Ireland. Genge has come on massively in the past few seasons and I can’t wait to see what he’s like going forward.

      @@kirstenflower8937 that’s just not true. He was stopped many times by his opposite number 8 Caelan Doris. Doris equally had a terrific campaign and was in the forefront of everything Ireland did against them and ultimately was on the end of the winning team. Savea was very good though. Classy player.

    Gengey and Andrew Sheridan, imo, are England's all time best looseheads (pro era). Big claim that I know, but try scoring, ball carrying looseheads who dominate scrums are going to be more impressive.

      As the content demonstrates few players are putting effective tackles on Genge . Are you applying your 'learn how to tackle ' on all the players he runs through/ over or does your comment only apply to Farrell ?

      Really hard to find players like Genge, he has been in development with EJ and the England camp since 2016.
      6 years of learning off pros and holding tackle bags, but he will be the best No1 in a generation.

      Isn’t the breakdown a big part of the modern locks job.
      Eben, Monsert, AWJ, Retallik, Ryan, Itoje all play their roles trying to dominate or get an advantage in the breakdown. All get regularly gets pinged at some point . How is Itoje any different ? Genge like all other props will try and influence refs in the scrums. I don’t see why your criticising an elite rugby player for doing what he should. The great Ritchie Maccaw made a career out of gaining every advantage for his team getting the Jedi knight mantle as a result.
      I get you don’t like itoje but using gamesmanship when every top lock in the game uses it as a reason to single out a player to criticise just seems a bit churlish.

    A Lions front row of 1.Genge/Porter 2.Dan Sheehan 3.Tadhg Furlong has to be the best ball running front row in world rugby. All beasts but all have individual strengths too.

      @@frostysfreeway2320 I've seen interviews where he has an arrogance about him. He gets himself into trouble on the pitch and has lost matches for his team through him I'll discipline, although that aspect he has improved.
      His upbringing plays no in my opinion.

      @@d4fm4n I have watched him play on a weekly basis since cockers signed him for Leicester, I don't recognise the player you are describing. He has never lost a match for Leicester or England for that matter through I'll discipline to my recollection, which I concede isn't perfect. On the contrary he winds the opposition up that they usually end up getting pinged. As for his arrogance, he seems to not trust the press ( can't imagine why!) But when speaking to tigers TV he was amiable, friendly, painfully honest and very modest.

      Guarantee it’ll be an Irish second/back row. I’m calling JVF, Beirn, or Doris to get it. I think Ardie Savea has been unreal, however I could see someone like Marcus Smith getting it because of the hype. I love Smith as a Quins fan, but Genge has shone this season.

      Agree to the above. In opinion can’t look past an Irish player for player of the year… Doris, Beirne, Etc. Tadge Beirne has been consistently one of the best players in the world for years but seems to go under the radar for bigger accolades (I’m an English fan - good rugby fan first, England second!)

      In Genge's defence, he's never played against New Zealand and the last 3 match series England played against New Zealand was in 2014, 2 years before his first cap.

      Plenty of fans outside England rate him 🙄 He had a great season , he has worked hard on his game, scrummaging, gained a leadership role with England and Leicester.
      Its just a tribute content on a player . Doesn't mean Genge is being hyped, no more than the numerous Eben Etzebeth tributes .
