I was at a Reds game once against the Chiefs, way back in 2015. I saw this small bloke warming up with the bench and my first thought was that he had to be an absolute gun to have made it to the bench at that size. Low and behold, next time I see him he is in the all blacks.
Perfect combination of technique, work rate and intelligence in my opinion. Big respect from England

He can't be dismissed this year his kicking stats must have improved cause I ain't seen him miss any, and he's deadly on counter-attack and sparking a backline move. He's 2nd to no one atm. Richie included, his size can't be used against him, in my opinion best player of last year All Black 15's tour.

I remember Tony Ward giving us schoolboys a coaching session in Belfast, 40 years later I still don’t think I have seen a player with more muscular thighs than Tony ;)
@@andrewbell3476 Indeed. Those plus his very low center of gravity and mesmerizing stepping made him very hard to stop. Trouble was, he usually fooled his support too and used to get isolated.
Fyi he was also a decent soccer player, won an FAI cup with Limerick United.
