      @@asmodeus1274because it’s an exotic and rare combination, and people are under the misguided assumption they can take anything, and take it as an insult instead of a warning when told zebra would sooner kill you than let you ride them, and that will almost certainly pass to and Zorses people are stupid enough to breed.

      Skydog is a fantastic sanctuary. They rescue rounded up wild horses that are basically headed to the glue factory (I don't apologise for the imagery, what happens to them can be worse.) They'll even search out family members of a herd. There's a video on this channel about them rescuing a stallion who'd been very protective of his family whilst they were being chased and shot at by people in a helicopter, and though he was happy at the sanctuary, he was clearly missing the herd. They managed to find one of his females - assuming I'm not mixing up the stories, she was already pregnant with his foal. Their reunion was a tearjerker. So don't worry about Pete, he couldn't be anywhere better!

      IMHO, they shouldn’t exist but for human interference and cross breeding. It’s wrong on so many levels, as they are not a horse and not a zebra, so to what purpose would they serve but an oddity? Their natures are conflicted which is unfair to any sensitive and lovely animal, such as zebras and horses.😢

    • @Sweetlyfe
      @Sweetlyfe 9 месяцев назад +7

      @@topcatwarriorI agree it’s so wrong, the exotic wildlife laws need to change in the US, it shouldn’t be allowed. In Australia you cannot import wild exotic animals only Zoos can import exotic animals, and then our laws on Zoos are strict, there aren’t the roadside zoo’s that you have in the US. She did a great thing by a getting those ignorant drunk Men throwing beer cans at him, where were the auction staff. He is beautiful looking but it’s still so wrong to breed a Zebra and a horse. I’m glad he is at least able to live out his life safe and happy in a herd. I had to rescue an Echidna last night that got stuck in my shed, I love that I have these beautiful native wildlife living on my property, and all the Cockatoos and other parrots hanging out, but I don’t want them to be my pet, I enjoy the fact that they are comfortable on my land, they were here before I bought it, and those cockatoos will outlive me, I enjoy watching them, and they are all nesting as it’s just the start of spring, I love the birds that come back every spring and the ones that have chosen to stay on here throughout the year now and make it their home, but I don’t want to cage them I want to see them flying around and drinking and bathing in the water I leave out for them.

    For those watching this video, you have to understand how difficult is for a rescuer to let go your new son somewhere that is more suitable for him. Forget about the money you spend in his recovery, forget the nights without sleeping thinking if he’s ok or if you made the right choice. Letting go someone you love is remarkable. I really look up to every single rescuer that let his son go somewhere else in order to make him truly happy! Admiration 1000%. Hope to be like that someday ❤❤❤

    That is genuine love. Where you rescue an animal, invest in their recovery, and then let them go to live their best life. And get nothing in return, except of course the return that comes with any selfless deed. 💓

    She's amazing. I love that she meets him where he is and does what's best for him. She also knows mixing a domestic animal with a wild animal makes a wild animal.

    Thank you so much for removing him from an abusive situation with the subhumans who threw beer cans at him.

    Thank you for not only saving him, but finding him an amazing sanctuary with Skydog!! What a great place for all the horses (and zorses). I have many choice words for those "drunken men" , but using them here would get my comment banned.

    Thank you so much for rescuing him from the drunks and then from the auction. Glad you sent him to Sky Dogs! Lee Asher, of The Asher House has also been rescuing a lot of horses lately.

    It’s amazing how just a little human kindness can make such a difference in an animal that has been born so different! It takes time and patience to gain the trust of an abused animal.
    It’s the same with an abused human being!

    Pete's got a beautiful spirit. You can see it in his actions. And not just because he's my namesake. Much love Pete 🐴
