Shooting a product commercial for a companies drinkware bottle. With this piece I wanted to go full out in a cinema style.
All of this was filmed in camera, non of it is CGI and was edited in After Effects. Let me know in the comments if you'd like a Behind the scenes.

Absolutely magnificent
Thanks for watching, really appreciate you taking the time!🙏
Damn! And No CGI.... imagine that. Great work.
Thank you. Yeah all shot on Sony mirrorless camera for real, only one shot taken into after effects to edit them together but apart from that it’s just the shots.
Def would like to see the BTS on this!
Awesome! I’ll be making that soon 👍
Wannabe cinematographer here who spotted your story on Reddit . I'd love to hear more about your decision of not using CGI (as that mindset runs contrary to the current anxiety-inducing narrative) (and I think it could potentially draw some more eyes to your channel). Either way, the only reason I'm chiming in here is because I liked your background story about where you are, where you came from, and where you're looking to go. As a fashion photographer (ish) who recently embarked on a similar journey 3 years ago I felt like I could totally relate. Indulge us! Peace!
Thanks for commenting! Really appreciate you reaching out. That’s awesome you’re on a similar journey too! I’ll be making a video on how I made this video/shots and I’ll be sure to include info on my reasons etc. my channel is mainly for my short films and spec commercials, but in between making those larger projects I’m gonna be making lighting breakdowns and BTS etc. so hopefully it helps people like us to learn and share ideas.
Love this! Where'd you find this audio from?
Thank you. I think it was from envato elements website
Really awesome work! I can't wait to see the BTS. How did you manage to do this at 0:17 ?
Thank you! So I filled the bottle rotation and the lid separately, made sure they had the same lighting and then using after effects to piece them together!
hi how much would you charge to photograph something like this? thanks
Hi. To be honest with you, I’m not sure. It comes down to who’s the client, how much work is involved and your own personal day rate and where you’re based.
how did you make the first shot? the logo revealing one?
It’s just had lid rotating on its side. I have a small dedo light way off in the background with a snoot attachment. Then in post I’ve flipped the shot 90 degrees so the lid is flipping over instead of sideways. Logo is just placed in and key framed to reveal in after effects 👍
@@_jonkent how did you get the reflactions on 0:06 what camera settings you used ? actually I am making a product animation in 3d so I really wanna recreate something like this !
@@rbedemon4790 the reflections are just from a large piece of white card being used as a bounce. The light in the back is lighting a large bit of white card off to the left side of camera. It’s just got to be at the right angle for those bits of the product to be lit.
Camera settings we fairly standard. 25fps, 1/50, ISO I’m not sure on, but would have just been where I could achieve the exposure I wanted.
@@_jonkent thanks,
Awesome, dude. BTS please 🙏
I will do some BTS stuff soon! Are you interested in product shoots?
@@_jonkentYeah. Trying to start some projects soon. I would be glad to use some of your methods/ideas btw. So, looking forward for your bts.
@qurban.sahedov yeah awesome! I’m putting together some videos at the moment. One of which will be these product video breakdowns
